  • Reclaiming our #republic
We are witnessing nothing short of a systematic dismantling of our republic. Is there a way out? What is the role and responsibility of political parties? And what about the civil society -- social movements, campaign organisations, intellectuals, and citizens? What is the roadmap for 2024 and beyond? How do we consolidate the gains of #Bharatjodoyatra and turn this into a movement, a Bharat Jodo Abhiyaan?
    Yogendra Yadav

India is moving to 21st century with plan of development of both agriculture, industries, services and defence with confidence. There is no need to go to 1956 or 1960s when India refused the courts to take up Shri Ram janmabhoomi case. Now Hindus got their rightful place through all courts. So no going back, Jai Hind.

India is not just a union of states, India is a nation and we resent when someone says that India is not a nation. CAA.was only a belated signal not a solution (which is hardly possible) for religiously oppressed minorities of certain ideological states which were once part of India.

Hinduism has been way of life since ages irrespective of its good and bad traits. We need Hinduism for our own selves. It should be completely personal and private affair. It cannot be made the dictat for the nation, at the same time we don't need RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal and BJP line of Hinduism.

Absolutely right. Hinduism or rather sanaatan dharm is one's own choice and offers manifold pathways to the divine. It's unfortunate that this beautiful religion has been hijacked for political purposes, like most religions have been. It's an easy and efficient weapon to get people confused and emotional.
What the BJP do has little to do with sanaatan dharm. They do the exact opposite.

Your idea of "reclamation" as opposed to resistance for "transformation" is very interesting--and makes sense. The logic and rationality of our consensus is such that changing the Constitution, too, could occur with a perfunctory discursivity--possibly even in classrooms! One of the most illuminating speeches I've heard in months.

Glad to have come across this enlightening lecture (of nearly 2 hours) on an Easter Sunday afternoon. It truly befitted the inherent spirit of Easter, viz., Resurrection. After all reclaiming (or resurrecting) what India (as well humanity at large) needs the most in present times, is the spirit of a Republic (or Democracy). It’s unfortunate that during the post-independent India, progressive Hindus did not continue with the efforts of Mahatma Gandhi to make Hinduism relevant to the lives of the working poor, like the Liberation Theology movement of the 60s and 70s in Latin America. This had evolved into the Black/feminist Theology movement and in India during the 1980s, a Dalit Theology. Just a thought from a progressive Christian, who identifies himself to be culturally Christian, and nothing more.

Recently, a number of Sikhs returned carrying on their head the guru granth sahib from Afghanistan post Taliban dictats to convert to islam or face atrocities. Such returnees from Islamist countries have to be given Indian citizenship which the CAA esposes. But the leaders of muslims living in India, communists, congress, tmc want to give citizenship for the muslims also if they sneak to India from such Islamist countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh etc. India already gave citizenship to bangladeshi people who came back to India from Bangladesh prior to 1972. Post liberation from Pakistan there is no need for bangladeshis to come to India. But because there is no secular regime in bangladesh, Hindus there facing atrocities had come to India and citizenship shall be considered for them only and not for those muslims who drove them out. So i do not agree with Yogendra Yadav on CAA issue.

This gentleman doesn't hesitate to create serious unrest in some sections like Farmers and will run away when things go out of control like he did when farmer's agitation was taken over by unruly elements.
See, I told you that he is a know all !
When whole world is applauding India and it's handling during pandemic by our govt , this pundit says it was handled very amateurishly !
I really wonder why he gets so much space !
He is continuing his life style of JNU - of living off others money ,even now !
I don't think he is if any use to his family !
    Wonder if
he knows of any work which is useful to anybody/some body !
I sincerely request him to concentrate on his family and do something - any small thing - that can be of some value to his family.
Country is in safe hands and he need not worry about it's survival .
Some how, it appears he lost confidence in Rahul baba who appeared very mature, wise and competent to defeat Modiji/BJP !
Now he is singing a different tune.
You can see that he is playing up the same tune lije in the case of farmers and instigating people of the country to take to streets against the elected Govt. although in a very clandestine manner.
I hope this gyani knows how u employment can be solved when BJP is thrown out,
His whole bakwas is built on the assumption that BJP and Modiji are harming the country and gyanis like him can offer a better rule !
Can there be anything farcical than this ?
We as a nation need to be very vigilant to thwart the effort to create unrest in the country .
Remember, this guy is capable of starting a fire but runs away when it gets uncontrollable !

It is nice to hear this lecture. But the true causes of the production system was answered by none other than RaGa in his Cambridge colloquium. India needs to become a production (manufacturing) nation to solve most of these issues. And honestly, it never was in history, except for jute and cotton and some amount of steel production along with heavy industries. Come on, we cannot even produce a simple “geometry box” cheaply within our country. Funny to say, all stationary items today in India comes from China.
We are a race of people which is very bad at “mass production”. Manufacturing is the basis of a modern economy and the way it happens in India is laughable. We have 0 in-house R&D. We think too much about IP infringement and of course we have an extremely uneducated society which does not even care about the fundamental aspects of life while going to vote for a local leader, because the local leaders themselves are fatheads and corrupt. Corruption and the debate about what is right and wrong, eats out the entire human energy of India. This is completely the opposite of East Asian countries.

Sorry to say, but to achieve a respectable human civilization of 21st century, you must achieve a working government which knows what it is doing. Indian people do not have that idea 😅. Indians are colonized people. I would say Nepal is a better rashtra today than India. At this level, to be honest, there is a high chance that powerful neighbors will just bully out territory from India. And that will happen in next 10 years to come.
