when browsing for books to read, i always look for book reviews. that is why i bring you an march TBR that quickly turned into a very chatty video about the books i want to read this month, me making a TBR jar and cart, and losing my mind over some of the new book releases of 2024. booktube and tiktok have buzzed about these books… let’s see if i’ll enjoy them! i hope you guys enjoy this one and come out with one more book to add to your TBR and some good book recommendations for 2024!
omgggg I love seeing what you’re looking for is in the library getting the attention it deserves, literally nobody talks about it and it was one of my favourite books of last year. so beautiful 🩵
it was such a good one😭 it's also the type of book you can't stop thinking about after you've read it, so it earns extra points for that alone!
Mel loving your vibe. You seem happy and love that for you!
You make me sooo happy! Starting my month I get so excited to start my TBR after watching your videos.
this is so sweet🥺❤️🔥 tbr's bring me a lot of joy, clearly hehehe
😇👼
The lil dancey dance I did at the notif 😂
Omg I just finished 7 year slip yesterday. 4⭐! Reminded me of the movie "the lake house" and I hadn't realised I'd read another book by the author previously (also a 4 star read). Anyways the book was fun. The chemistry ✨ Kinda wish it had been a lil longer. It's romance yes but also deals with themes of grief and change, so I enjoyed it all.
Also she's in the future, he's in the past 😂 you got it the other way around
Imma give city of brass or tempest of tea a go next.
okay but we love the good chemistry shoutout!!! i'm really excited😭
We love a STACKED tbr. I’m excited for A Tempest of Tea!
I think I’m going to jump into 7 year slip in March too!! ❤
Ohhh the angel's game!!!! ❤i loooved that book, I fell so in love with David Martin, read it last year and still think about it🕰️🧸🤎
i feel like this is everyone's experience too!! i'm so excited😭🤸🏻♀️
The variety of this tbr! I can’t wait to hear more about them in your vlogs. 😇👼
I hope your TBR goes well! I loved The Seven Year Slip 🥳🥳 hope you enjoy!!
What a great TBR! A tempest of tea is one of my most anticipated release 👼👼
The nails are so cute, love them
I just finished the seven year slip last night! It was so good, I cried so hard💛🪽
can't wait to join the crying crew soon🫡
I‘m so excited for you to read the seven year slip and hear your thoughts (no pressure to like it of course!) It was my favorite book of 2023 (magical writing, romantic, incredibly hopeful) and it inspired me to look at life in a slighty different way. Sooo excited to hear your thoughts once you read it. I always like new insights from different perspectives! Also… mel, you‘re incredibly ambitious for march hahaha. Good luck, i‘m right there with you (my TBR is a lot too)
Good luck with your reading 📖 your amazing books 📚 for your march tbr prayers and blessings for you and your family love your Aussie family friend John and well done with your February tbr ❤❤❤
Great choices! Bride, A Tempest of Tea, and The Seven Year Slip are high on my TBR!
we love good taste🧚🏻♀️
That is definitely an impressive TBR! I've got a huge stack that's probably gonna see me through March and April, but the ones I'm most excited about reading are The Burning Page (currently reading), Divine Rivals (finally!), Nona the Ninth, and re-starting the Ember in the Ashes series (read book 1 years ago and can't remember why I didn't continue....)
Oh my gosh that is some kinda tbr 😂😂😂 good luck getting through it 🍀 I really enjoyed The Seven Year Slip even though it brought a tear to my eye 🥺. 😇😇
it's an entire behemoth to tackle😭🤣
i have a feeling i'll be crying too, with the seven year slip! i can't wait hehehe
Ooooo I’m super excited to hear your thoughts on The Seven Year Slip! I keep on hearing everyone talk about it but haven’t read it yet.
I really enjoyed Bride ❤️🔥🧛♀️ And looking to read The Seven Year Slip and the Tempest of Tea this month 😊 have a great reading month 🌻
Hiiii Mel ! 🩷🩷My tbr is going to be the throne of glass books. I started it at the end of February so I’ll be continuing it
Zafón's writing is so beautiful i wish I could experience it in Spanish 😪 I hope you have an amazing reading month ❤
What a great list of books for you this month. I’ll be stepping out of my comfort zone and reading Bride with Patreon.
Planning on finishing Starling House this month and read Bride!
I just ordered Bride form Aardvark can’t wait to read it. 😇
ughhh it's going to be so good, i just know it😭
Me too!!
🪽I loved Sweet Bean Paste!!! I also have Curry of Brass on my tbr👼🏼
i'm so excited about sweet bean paste!! it needs to be read this month🫡
Paranormal romance is my favorite!! Here are some good recs: Halfway to the Grave by Jeanine Frost, Burn for Me by Ilona Andrew’s (new pb cover releasing soon), Soulless by Gail Carriger - I would love to hear your thoughts on these! Very little amount of booktubers do paranormal romance videos 😢 😊
I am currently reading Bride its super good. It wouldn't disappoint.
I just got True Grit by Charles Portis (a colleague recommended it). I also want to read Before The Coffee Gets Cold, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Twisted Love, and Circe. I'll begin teaching "The Odyssey" before long, so Circe definitely would be fun to talk about with my students.
👼 a tbr of dreams ❤❤❤ love your silly edits 😂
i'm re-reading (for the 3rd time) the Gone series by Michael Grant. i read and loved it in middle school, and now that i'm a freshman in college i knew i needed to return to it once again
Your reaction to the new to me author was so cute 😂
You would love the Mercy Thompson series and Alpha &Omega series both by Patricia Briggs 100% recommend ☺️
Both paranormal series that are so good like wattpad good
i listened to seven year slip last month was so cute!
can't wait to cry while i read it!! (i have a feeling lmaooo)
Good luck in March. I had a bad time in Jan-Feb reading what I intended to read from my physical TBR (books that had lingered for far too long), mainly because I got books for Christmas and did a January haul of books I meant to buy in 2023, so I was distracted by the New.
March is going back to the plan, and reading the books I meant to read. Also, I have three books in progress that I will complete in the next few days: Dial A for Aunties, Marple, and Loathe to Love You (Ali Hazelwood's STEMiinist novellas).
Also,, I couldn't find an angel emoji, sorry.
Excited to hear your thoughts on these! 👼
Mel, if you like Carlos Ruiz Zafón you have to read Marina by him. I read it as a teen (about ten years ago), so I don’t know if it reads a bit young. But, but I can still remember the closing sentence word by word to this day. Love from Argentina!!
I just finished The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi omgggg you’ll love it when you get to it
i have a feeling city of brass is going to make me want to read it sooner rather than later!
Hope you enjoy your recent reads 📚☕

Tempest - oh there’s a vampire love interest alright 👀👀👀
I am also planning on reading 'Bride', but I am not usually a romance reader, so kind of nervous 😬 Although, I don't know why, because I can just DNF if I'm not having a good time, right? 👼👼👼
hey mel, how do you feel about seanan mcguire? i see one of her books in the back and have been wondering what her books are like

😇😇
If you are only just trying out Ashley Poston then definitely give Dead Romantics a try as I think you would love this very very much so
Ooooo a must read middle grade for everyone to look for. The Secret of the Moonshard by Struan Murray, this is the magical book with wizards you never knew you needed but you do. It is amazing
i've see this one everywhere too! don't eve know what it's about, but i'll check it out👀🫡
oooo looking this up too!!
@@MelReads it is about a character called Domino, I think she is 11 and from a baby she had to live with a bunch of science barons as she is “allergic to magic” and her parents mysteriously died. Something huge is revealed and it becomes a found family amazing read. This is a wizard story that everyone needs, I am hoping it is a series as it should be, one book is not enough in this world x
👼
I had to dnf the fragile enchantment, it was really hard to get into and (tryna not be a spoilsport) but I found one of the characters to be really unlikeable. Whoever said it's like Bridgestone was so off.
