THAT ENDING SOLO IS BEYOND THIS WORLD! PETRUCCI THE GOD!
alex should've been in the recording
fuck yeah this is insane >___
The prog god almighty John Petrucci 🤯
I thing you mean gsus
And so he is!!!
one of the hardest guitar solos to play
sadly, one of his lamest :/
@@Diegosaurio lol what are you saying
@@cobain_92 don't get me wrong, I love this dude, but it's just meaningless shred. The final solo is way better
@@Diegosaurio I agree it's shred, but I like it. When you hear it you're just like "wow. He just did that?" I enjoy it, but hey
Diegosaurio you both are idiots. His solo is NOT even a shred, he’s hitting WRITTEN NOTES. Accurate, fast, written notes... Look up the definition of “shredding” since you both clearly don’t know.
This song always brings me to tears, especially the last 4 minutes of the song.. my God, so beautiful.
So beautiful.
yeah man, it's like all the climax you can get from this life, and you're ready for the next journey.
My favorite DT DVD... this is absolutely PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!
i got original as soon as it came out, i knew them only by few months. i am not joking by saying i spent whole days staying at home watching it over and over. i think now that disc is not working anymore!
Really really i love this dvd too im from vitória ES kisses haha
Definitely their best dvd and their best rendition of this song. Every single one of these guys were pulling their own weight AND some....spectacular:)
Nati sua linda was in this dvd that i meet the band after this never more let hear. I love so much Dream theater 😍😍😍😍😍😍
I watch this dvd when is come out in 2004 every single day before badtime sleep on and on almost a year!!
My face melted off during that keyboard/guitar instrumental. So good!
The solos in this song are godly, love the guitar/keyboards with the nice little bass groove in the background.
james is actually a really good singer, not live but in the studio he just fits so much! i can't imagine Dream Theater without him
that's why liquid tension had to be born
Hi james
This dvd is what finally got me hooked on DT. A masterpiece all the way
other musicians: ok, this is the hardest part, lets end it here
dream theater: lets continue and improving it for ten minutes
My thoughts exactly. Just when u think the song is over or there’s nowhere to go from that point, they go the extra mile.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
2024 ❤ STILL LISTEN , DREAMING 😅
yes, listen
This song helps me whenever i need hope and strength in life. Truly a Masterpiece and very underrated.
After studying musical theory, the scales, etc. Some bands may loose your interest because you're looking for something more, with Dream theater however, even after studying musical theory they still keep my interest and I have even grown more fond of them because they use such a complex style of playing, it's incredible.
yes indeed 💯🔥
I think the thing that kills me is talented musicians either getting lazy (Ivan Moody of 5FDP) or just using predictable and cookie cutter song structure and lyrical themes. Over the years and dozens of bands Ive listened to, I have MUCH higher standards than I used to. Probably why I've come to love progressive rock/metal
I can honestly say that petrucci is the most complete guitarist to ever exist. Style, technique, feel, speed... fucking everything!!!
El Maliki Ahmed Hamza what about Guthrie Govan?
is good but petruci has more creativity
Oh man, you're in for a big surprise if you ever see some of the really accomplished guitar masters.
/watch?v=tPnGLvKhO-8
We are talking about metalguitarists. And yes, Petrucci is accomplished guitar master. Technically he's just good as John Browne or Viktor Smolskiy, and musically he's just God.
he's an amazing guitar player, beyond this world! top 3, but I haven't seen anyone like Guthrie
That unison around 10:00 is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Playing a whole show, to nail all those instrumental sections is fuckin insane.
Just magnificent!!!!!!!!!!!!
My favorite duet solo between John and Jordan is on Panic Attack, but this one is an extremely close second.
9:10 Jordan literally enjoying himself in that section....Just MINDBLOWING!!!!!
I guess many won't agree with me. But I think this is the best live performance of their catalog. This song builds up with every minute and explodes at the last solo. Beautiful
Apart from James, they didn't miss a note the whole concert.
the best lyrics as well.
I couldn't agree more, it's the BEST LIVE album in their vast discography. I'm happy they released a Blu-ray of this magical performance in 2010. I hoped something similar for "Score: 20th Anniversary World Tour Live With The Octavarium Orchestra", however it hasn't happened till today. With Mike Portnoy back in the band now anything can happen 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Except the singing is always cringe in this band. It just is. They need a new singer who sings in a different style that’s less annoying.
I know this will sound dramatic, but this song (album version with this ending) is the coolest song I've ever heard. I keep listening to it and hearing new things- this weird audio does not do it justice, but it's still great
this was the first dream theater song I ever heard!
sanctora Wow as great one to start with
sanctora You started very well!
Same
same
But not first you learn on guitar
I am amazed, astonished, stunned and the words i can not say about this live perfromance.. Dream Theater is the best band ever... No need to discuss....
This is the best live-performance ever. The end is just mindblowing. omfg.
MISS YOU MIKE PORTNOY
Prolly one of their best lyrics
Alex Erne it is their best lyrically, I put this beside: The Best of Times, A Change of Seasons, and The Count of Tuscany, and The Glass Prison.
Holy fuck that outro solo
I fucking know right! Brilliant
this song has the most perfectly placed pinch harmonic OF ALL TIME
You really can’t find any better. Mine used to be the pinch harmonics in Dead Or Alive by Bon Jovi, but then I discovered this band, and this song. SO powerful!
You after the solo when the main riff kicks in?
One of my favorite DT live performances especially with the kick ass instrumental outro...you can just feel all the emotion in it
One of the best songs from that setlist. This was the album that got me to listen to the band and become a fan. One of the very few bands that sound better live than in studio.
Vocals all together sound incredible, perfect work man. Especially John's vocals :)
When your favorite bands songs are so long that have commercials in the middle of the videos.....smh lol

Octopus on drums

Truly impressive performance. Never seen anyone perform live anywhere near as incredible as Dream Theater. They fucking killed it here \m/
ONE THING to say: I LOVE this band.
Amazing vocals on this song
Lord LaBrie
Lord LaBrie
When I saw this tour in Hollywood......this was the best song of the night and trust me when I say the vocals that night absolutely blew me away.....I went to see Mike and the band.....but when I left I was just stunned I never expected or sadly realized or ever gave him his dues.....but he stole the show...this was by far the best song of the night, the crowd just erupted....it was amazing....this version in no way reflected what I heard that night....he had so much power and range it blew me away......
music too from thailand
and i have import CD this album
amazing out of tune yes
08:45 the way those two play together should be an inspiration to every musician out there, no matter the genre or instrument. Incredibly impressive!
In 2020 Christmas eve.
Always and forever...
I've seen Petrucci in a clinic here in Italy and during the meeting, talking about his ability, he said he's christian and he thanks God for this mastery and he sees it as a gift, a way to make people dream
the best concert of DT in the history.
This is probably one of the best concerts ever, regardless of band...
This song is so badass,my favorite one by dream theater
I didn't know Dave Mustaine could sing this high
Ha Ha Ha yes!
lol brilliant dude
Mak Tvrtkovic lol
looks more like Ellefson

2023, still a masterpiece
that ending was so perfect for the live version. Love it when bands do stuff like that
Cuando era un adolescente no soportaba la música de Dream Theater. Ahora que esto pisando los 40 empiezo a disfrutar cada vez más de su obra. Talento en su máxima expresión.
The only sad thing about this masterpiece is that it was written in 2003 and in 2024 it still holds truth
They play it slightly faster than on the album, but JP and JR are still able to flawlessly pull off their solos.
Never bored to hear this song.
Healing the soul, healing my spirit too

.
One of the best song in the world
DT lope you fulll
2024 who still enjoys this masterpiece?
Can't be old 🗝️😃
Young for years and years 🙏❤️
From India
Mike, you are amazing! I miss you deeply in the band, you will never be replaced.
No, he didn't :(
James is better and better...saw them in January in Prague and I was excited, how great they are...!
LABRIE sings pretty good here
Petrucci as a singer is an excelent guitar player!!!
Yeahhhhh!!!
I could spend a hundred years in the hyperbolic time chamber practicing guitar, and I still wouldn't be as good as John Petrucci is if he were passed out drunk.
Logan Miller Lol me 2..
Logan Miller No actually.. if you practiced correctly, you would be far better than him. Just a fact. Stop slapping yourself and don't make yourself bad to make someone else look good.
+Sakari Kempas And who would you consider is "far better" than him for instance? Name names. There can be a "slightly" better guitar player than him (not many come to my mind anyway, I think of Vai, Goban, Kotzen for instance) but they are not really better than Petrucci, they are all also monsters and everything depends on the taste. But Petrucci is even praised by Satriani and Vai, so he must be kind of right up there in the podium. Di Meola, McLaughlin, DeLucia etc...all of them amazing players, but none of them "far better" than Petrucci, because is impossible to be "far better" than this guy.
Martin Gimenez Think you're being too literal here, but it's true. If he practiced in a hyperbolic time chamber for hundred years, he would be far better than Petrucci, technically speaking. When it comes to note choices and improvisation though, it's vital to play with others. I'm not going to name "names" just to make you feel good and you just slamming those "names" down. It all comes down to preference and it seems like your absolute favourite guitar player is Petrucci.
+Sakari Kempas I'd never slam names down at all because I have the upmost respect for all musicians. Petrucci is one of my favourites yes but he's not the only one, he happens to play the music I almost enjoy the most. Richie Kotzen is my all time favourite, I listen to him since 1989 and I think he reached a level where he already can be one with his own instrument when he plays. Another of my favourites is Brian May though he's not a virtuoso. I love how Nuno plays, his tone, rhythm and sense of metric. Ynwgee is amazing but I don't like his music. MacAlpine is another of my favourite players, I love everything he does. Satriani I like, he bores me a little bit sometimes. Tosin Abasi is great but boring to my taste. Paul Gilbert I adore. I was crazy with Jason Becker back then. I grew up listening to EVH and thinking he was God...I was wrong. I like Stevie Salas style and music. Morse, Vandemberg, Sykes, Gary Moore, Greg Howe, Eric Johnson, Michael Lee Firkins, Vinnie Moore, freaking Blues Saraceno (I love Blues!) I don't know, I have tons of favourite players, I had every record Shrapnel has released, I would not slam anyone at all. If you can tell me some of your favourites I can go check them and that'd improve and enlarge my musical field so by all means throw some names in here.
2021 and still rocks!
Dude, that last Petrucci shred at the end (14:31) is like when he is transforming in SJJ GOD BEARD PETRUCCI. Wylde man... But in this DVD He is in the early age, skinny, still developing his muscles and his Beard.
How did Petrucci play that solo Flawlessly live? He made it look so easy.
Seen em live several times in Toronto, these guys can tap into musical planes that few of us can only dream of. When the tones right, the crowds right, the venues right they hit on all cylinders.
insanity. he's the best there ever was, i swear. maybe not the "greatest", but certainly the best.
He's god so what did you expect?
Meus amigos Train of trough é um disco monstruoso 🤟🇧🇷👏💜

Such an epic song, and amazing performance from my favorite band!!!
The best song from arguably their best album! 🎸
It’s not debatable, it is their best album
@Raeu Lucaas yeah, octavarium was a good album, but the only bangers were panic attack and octavarium in my opinion. Panic attack is one of their best
Never tire of listening to this. Brilliant song from start to finish but the almost symphonic layers after 10:40 are stunning. Rudess' background sound is perfect for the song as it gradually intensifies. The real shame is Myung's base lines are not high enough in the mix.
2019 everyone, and miss this squad miss portnoy a lot.
Amazing melodys
One of the best DT endings
Really, Dream Theater is the only band I know that can perfectly replicate its studio songs in live performances. If you know any other, please tell me, 'cause I'd love to listen.
A7X
Despite the h8 they get from the progressive community, they are outstanding performers. Especially Synyster gates, some of his passages are harder than petrucci's.
Rush. Better live than in studio.
Opeth
like in what song? i listen to them too and it´s not harder than this
This is another level of music
that masterpiece!! and still in 2022
So raw and pure!
I hope the audio quality isnt this bad on DVD. I have dream theaters 20th anniversary with the octivarium orchastra, and the audio quality is amazing.
Ofcourse it's better! This video is 480p and CD is always better than youtube, doesn't matter what quality
Sound quality on TH-cam is always shit, even with the highest quality options.

Not because I'm a fan, not at all.. just go and compare, even satriany, who can? ... a deep, technical, emotional, passionate music ... text perfect, instruments perfect...
