I have a dragon green 1997 CL 1.8 ADZ, My Father (RIP) bought it new for around $28,000 Australian which was almost twice as much as a comparable Nissan in 1997, it's been the most amazing reliable car ever and rust is not a problem with the Mk3 in Australia, believe me when I say "this baby isn't going anywhere in a hurry" it was given to me in 2014 when My father moved back to the UK, the car has always been well loved and is in excellent condition, it's not fast but it is nippy and can be a hoot to drive, other than a bit of a sporty exhaust and a set of 16" alloys, it's totally stock and I love it!
I've driven all golf models except for the new mk8. I own a mk3 cabrio. I really wanted a mk1 cabrio because I my first nice car was one.
