I was ALWAYS getting that Cricut error when I tried to print and cut stickers. Your explanation of the Cricut not being able to read the guidelines because of the shiny sticker paper I was using got me thinking. I painted some Mod Podge over the guidelines, and it worked! I just wanted to share this with everyone! Thank you!!!!
What a great tip! Painting mod podge and letting it dry makes so much sense. Thanks so much for sharing!!
Hi Alex! Thank you for these tips! This is a Tutorial for the Library to
keep handy when needed. Hope all is well.💙💙💙 Happy Crafting!🤗
You’re so welcome! ☺️
The whole Cricut experience is so frustrating. And so expensive. ☹️
I think a lot of it is how you view it 😊.
Thank you for sharing this video. Print then cut is sometimes a nightmare! It’s so nice that you experience these problems too! Great tips and tricks ❤
You’re so welcome! I most definitely struggle sometimes too, so I’m glad you could benefit from seeing them!
Right. I never want someone else to struggle, but it is nice to know it's just not me.
great video, I have actually found in my craft room shining my lamp on the cricut has helped
Good tip!
I only did one thing. I went over the lines with a sharpie and it worked.
I do this everytime with no fail 😊
I heard the sharpie technique worked too
Oh cool! That’s a great idea. I’ll have to try that next time!
Me too ✋️
Girlfriend .... 14 hours later...so glad I read your comment it worked!! Tha is you!!! Sharpie for the win ❤🎉
While I appreciate all the time and effort (and materials) that you put into trying to get Print Then Cut to work, I find it incredibly frustrating and sad that you even have to do this. We all spend so much money and time on our Cricut projects, so it's ridiculous when the machines don't work the way they're supposed to, especially lately. Every time I try to cut something, I get errors, or the machine freezes, or it loses my project entirely. I end up wasting what little crafting time I have and $$ on wasted/ruined materials. It kinda takes the joy out of crafting, and the worst part is, we don't have any choice but to use DS if we want to use our expensive machines.
I totally understand! Unfortunately, that's an issue with Cricut that I can't control. But I have experienced more issues lately than ever with my Cricut as well! I'm sorry it's frustrating!
I just said to my daughter, there has to be something out there that's better than cricut. Even if I have to get something professional. It took us 4 days to make a 800 piece name confetti in glitter cardstock. The machine just kept tearing it up,or we had it mirrored it didn't mirror it. The amount of product we waisted was ridiculous. It's not worth doing the confetti anymore and it's really popular in out etsy store. I just bought the maker3 to hopefully stop having the sticker issue, well it reads it but it cuts our stickers off. It's so incredibly frustrating the amount of ink, paper and time that's been waisted has been ridiculous. I am at a breaking point with cricut.
As it is a sticker ,you can stick it on the original ❤😊 you don't need to use you're tape😊😊
I have had that issue with sublimation paper. I found that works for me is use a black marker over the registration marks. Normally that works for me. Hope that helps.
Hey I'm having problems my printer not printing bottom registration marks also another issue my printer not matching the print preview on design space 😢 for example page goes to 29 on print preview but once I place print on mat it only matches up to say 28 so it's not reading. Thanks so much
I'm using paper stickers with a sparkly laminate applied to the top and had same issue. The solution I found was that in addition to going over the black registration marks, you need to go round the edge of the black with white posca pen so there is some matte white as well as matte black. Alternatively you can cut the sparkle laminate to size so it goes inside the registration marks.
Good point about cutting the laminate inside the registration marks! Thanks for sharing what worked for you!
Does anyone know how to fix the cut issue the bottom part of cutting is perfect the top of the sticker is slightly off n I’ve tried to calibrate it any suggestions cos it’s driving me mad lol I just want perfect cut like before
SAME.
I’m going to try this
I use the matte tape or the sharpie method, both worked for me. (I use the Maker model)
I personally think the Maker handles glossy sticker paper better! I'm glad you have a few tricks that work for you!
I've tried both, the tape worked forever, then one day it just stopped working.
None of this has worked for me and I am using matte sticker paper. I am glad that it did for you though.
Sometimes it’s the software and there’s nothing you can do. I’m sorry it’s not working. Know that it’s likely not your fault!
ty - I've tried them all on glossy paper & have never been successful. Now I don't feel so bad ;-)
I tried all of these too. Placing the matte paper over the glossy and taping worked BUT the cut ends up in the wrong place most of the time.
It's definitely tricky. The best thing I've found to do if you machine frequently has issues with glossy paper is to use a matte version of sticker paper instead.
We have the same problem.
I downloaded the calibration sheet but couldn't print it was in PDF or something like that so frustrating
Cricut Design Space can’t import PDF files. You can do the calibration process inside design space without an outside calibration sheet ☺️
I have the same problem with the Koala glossy paper.
I've had this issue using the cricut brand sticker paper. I just stopped using it.
I have heard about issues with Cricut sticker paper, but I haven’t tried it myself.
Could you have just attach the cut sticker sheet on top of the shiny sheet?
You could, but then you would only have one try to get perfect placement! So you would have to make sure you were ready to commit!
how to put those registration marks?
Design Space adds them automatically
You can always go over registration marks with sharpie
That's a great idea! I'll try that next time.
You cleaned the sensor and it cut then. So the cut mat registration marks may not have really been the solution. It may have been that your sensor was dirty.
I cleaned the sensors earlier in the video and it didn't work. So it's possible but if that was the issue it would have worked after I cleaned them with a watercolor brush.
You have a perfect speaking voice.
Thank you so much! :)
More wiggle room by taping. Sticker tends not to lift up if not set right
Yes agreed! Much easier than placing a sticker.
The part that is killing me is how I have gone through hundreds of Print then Cut's on glossy paper with no issue, and all of a sudden it quits working. And Cricut's customer service is horrible and slow.
Why do we have to go through this crap
I know it can be frustrating! All technology has it's limits.
Right
Shish such expensive machine and to get it to do what is supposed to do we have to hack our way through it !!!
did she really just tape a sticker?
Did you watch any of the rest of the video? Lol I troubleshoot several methods before trying this one, and it’s the one that worked.
@@DIYAlex - yes I did, it was meant as a joke! I know you do lots of testing. Keep up the great work and continue to be your normal entertaining self!
Cut it again and use different settings.
That would have worked if I hadn’t unloaded it yet! Once you unload it, the Cricut won’t cut again in the same place.
this is pointless . im sorry but print and cut is a myth.
How is it a myth? I have done tons of print then cut projects over the years. You can find all kinds of tutorials here on my channel.
