You and this layer cake design is amazing. I’ve been watching and thinking and watching and thinking. I think I got it in theory and am excited to try. Your pieces are divine! I’m also going to a channel jacket/blazer. Thank you for sharing. As your opening declares…Perfect, Perfect, Perfect! 😊😊😊
Green isn't my fav col and I dnt really like it but I can fully appreciate all the work and it turned out fab. Plus a great way to use up scraps what do u do with all the seams from the joins
The bodice looks beautiful and good coloring for the strips. Yes, the lighter fabric in the bodice does look great together. Love the pink and navy blue jacket. The beading is gorgeous. Sorry if you’ve already answered this before but how do you cut your strips? Thanks ! 🧵🪡🦋
Thank you! I kept the scraps and leftover cotton fabric after each sewing project. I neatened them up at the time then put them in my scraps box. When I took them all out recently I just decided it would be easier (for me, personally) to cut all the scraps into strips by hand, just by eye. There was no measuring. I then sorted them into different widths and sewed them into massive long strips. Everyone seems to have their own way of making scraps manageable and useable.
That’s good to know. That’s a good system. I have some sewing projects right now to finish then I plan on making a layer cake dress for the first time. You’ve inspired me to try it and I’m looking forward to coordinating fabrics and planning.
Thank you, Fin! They are quite different! Well done, so much effort. Impressive!
Thank you! 🌸💚 I was worried they were too similar until I put them next to each other. 🥰👗🎨
OOoh black and white with some bright red strips in it!
That would be striking! 🌹🪡👗🎨🥰
Green is my favorite as well, this dress is my favorite of all of your recent ones. Lovely!

Black white and grey would be a fab one
Thanks. I made a video of all my patchwork dresses, there's about 15 in a rainbow of hues. There is a black and white one.
