- The Australian branch of the California Superbike School now delivers its amazing training program at the Broadford Racetrack in Victoria, Australia.
In September 2023, we had the chance to ride the track as part of our preparation for the coaching and also put the brand new 2023 BMW S1000RR through its paces.

Good time on a stock bike on road tires. Even still got your pen in place to make student notes! Nice one Jorge!
How do you find the 2023 model compared with your personal bike? I guess it’s an unfair comparison because your own bike has all kinds of mods (like the front 2D suspension sensor) and would obviously be properly setup for you, but any general observations?
I love riding the 2023, it's a brilliant bike especially for CSS coaching. Front end feels solid, steers very well and for a stock bike with standard exhaust it really has some power. I think the mods of my 2016 has ramped up the game on that old model and I do love riding it. But like you said, hard to compare the stock 2023 to the modified 2016. Now if I had the same mods on the 2023, hmmm, might be a different matter. The electronics seem to be really good on the new model but some of the components such as clutch levers and heel guards are pretty average. I'd still buy one.
@@TheBikeStig Thanks for the reply. My 2020 is the first and only RR I’ve ridden but I love it. I added the 2D sensor, RCS19 Corsa Corta MC and Brembo SR brake pads and now have the suspension setup just right. I mainly use it as a track bike at SMSP but can’t wait to try Phillip Island one day.
@@MrDeepseadweller hope we see you down there one day, look us up if you do it
lots of time to be made up from crash to schoolhouse
this was day one just working on some drills and finding lines on a track we (I should say I) have not ridden before.
nice one coach, I kinda wish to become a coach myself in my lifetime. lol as if
nice, then go for it, takes a while but its worth the effort
@@TheBikeStig I would love to try but first improve my own riding skills
@@NinjaKoalaAUTW good move, there are multiple things that get assessed and riding is obviously one of them, my advice is always to practice the drills as taught by CSS until they are second nature as that is the basis for everything at the school, coaches have to get that right.
