    A little tip I learned many years back is the further you get your ass off the seat, slide more around the tank and off rather than simply off the side. It gives a little more front end weight that you can then back off as required and allows you to use more of your outer leg against the tank/seat for leverage.

  • @siraff4461

    The sounds of that R1 and Gixxer together. Perfect. I'm missing bikes pretty badly right now.

    Loved that Chops! It looked like you were getting more and more comfortable and confident as the video went on. The Gixer is a great track weapon. I'll never forget my Ron H. track day, where I thought I was going quite fast until my instructor starting pulling wheelies in front of me along the straight. Those boys are talented.

    Looks a blast. Yeah many people think knee down is about going balls out. It isn't. I did i2i MC3 knee down course and had my knees down at 28mph. Foot on edge of peg in the ball of your foot, arse cheek off seat and back, sit with body low, inside arm bent, outside arm nearly straight and across the tank, stick your knee down and right out, look THROUGH the corner where you need to go. And touch down 😄

    Level! Cudos to you for getting up to that level- congratulations,well done that man. At a Honda training session I did the instructor stressed the need to look at the road ahead when coming out of corners,not just straight ahead. Makes a big difference. They also like you to move your line on your side of the road, not just travel in a straight line. If you don’t adjust your line, you won’t pass your licence test these days. I prefer to travel in a straight line focussing on things coming in from the left and right. Old habits die hard.

    CSBS has come a long way since I did it in '91 (Morroso Park FL). Back then they provided the bike, leathers, helmet, boots and gloves. $250 + a $100 deposit in case you wrecked their bike which was a ZX6r. Then after a class on course flags and passing rules they just turned us loose on the track. A bit hairball but nobody wrecked out of 24 "students."

    Foot peg or any hard part touching the tarmac is a clear sign of poor body position based on my limited knowledge, you are leaning the bike more than needed for the corner so the body position is not good enough to offset lean angle. More lean is analogous to more risk. Good ride and thanks for sharing and one last thing - hip flick done right does not require lifting your back end so high , it shoud slide with outer thigh pushing and inner knee or thigh pulling to faciliate the hip flick

  • @theavangelist
    @theavangelist ปีที่แล้ว

    having followed you round when you were doing level 2 what i notice, which you can't see too well in the video from the back is that you sit upright still, keeping your head down really changes that flick ability. it looks as if they may have changed some of the briefing for level 3, it has always been you move your ass first, then the top half of your body over at the tipping point. not a great track to do it on really because there's no s bends
    i hope i can get back next year, this one was a wash out
