Safest working environment.....WWE stops two recent matches because of suspected concussions. AEW wrestlers almost die multiple times in one match and, well, at least a ref will kneel beside you and keep you relatively safe until the match is over.
Thankfully, Theory and Carmelo Hayes are alright, but it really could have been much worse. WWE don’t want another Owen hart incident and they especially don’t want another Chris Benoit. AEW if it doesn’t do anything soon will one day have a tragedy involving a wrestler in the ring. AEW should not be waiting for a wrestler to die just so they can take action.

I work with someone that has severe ADHD and Tony Khan reminds me so much of him. From the way he speaks to the way he cites random wrestling facts that most people that saw those old matches at the time wouldn't remember. To the way he acts online and while someone else is speaking during the scrums. To the way he seems to forget things that he's booked and rebooks similar matches.
I really don't think he's on drugs so much as that he SHOULD be on medication and isn't taking it. The haphazard way he books things and sticks to his plans long after he should recalibrate and readjust is another part of it.
People from inside the bubble have basically confirmed he's doing coke and drinking White Claws a lot. It's basically a touring wrestling tribute theater troupe party, all on his dad's dime.
As someone who has abused drugs, I believe Tony has a problem with stimulants and amphetamines.

Tony doesn't have that, and very clearly is on Adderall or coke, plus booze, and it's a very bad mix. I love that AEW exists, but he needs to take a step back.

Honestly, I think the NDA was very smart. Because from what I've seen the response has been at most 50/50 between people saying "Well if there's an NDA we need Tony to say it because Kylie can't" vs "I think she'd say something if it were true; you know women lie and the rumor mill is out to get anyone." Honestly I think I've seen more of the latter which is why I'm 99.9% certain as long as Tony just ignores it, this is all going to blow over.

As someone self-identified as DEEP inside the wrestling bubble, and I take offense to this because I too see all the AEW bullsh*t. No amount of watching Japanese wrestling can make the AEW nonsense any better.
What sucks is some Japanese wrestlers are actually pretty legit like Takeshita. However, who they are with and the "storyline" BS involving them, has soured whatever talent they actually have.
You watch and do the finishes only. Take all the finishes to every match in japan and just do them on tv. It can't go wrong. Ohhh wait that's what they've been doing since the start. Btw I didn't even watch insane amounts of Japanese wrestling of the 90's but from what I saw and remember from the 90's I have seen reproduced on AEW tv. But the marks only took the finishes not what led to the match. They think we don't know but we do know.
And I'm not in the "wrestling bubble" or a fn mark.
Above all else, the nonsense in AEW is Tk not milking each angle slowly and actually having time to tell a damn story before its already fucking time for the match. Or, no build at all. Just throw 2 guys together in the ring. Wtf?! In the 90s blah blah blah. Dudes I am 39 years old and yea rhe 90s owned huge ass double H Tits!!!! BUT!!.........DUDES!!!....be excellent to each other!!!!

I was so happy when Edge came back at the rumble. He lost everything he had in such a short amount of time in AEW. He went from Edge to Adam aka just another guy in a matter of weeks. Really sad.

They could have had a promo segment with the Dork Order, talking about Brodie. Then Vance storms out and tells them to shut up bc he was Brodie's chosen one. He starts to attack them and they set up an impromptu match between Vance and 1 Dork Order guy. Vance wins, his other LFI friend shows up (the masked one) and they beat up the rest of Dork Order. Would have created an angle for a few matches and would have made sense.

I honestly wonder how much longer AEW will be in business, the way Tony books (if you wanna call it that) and caters to the smallest fan demographic. Rating will continue to slide, Tony will become more unhinged. We're in for an entertaining ride.
For a few years, at least. Now whether WB will be with him for very long, that's anyone's guess.

It's one thing to hear about the Bucks return, it's quite another to actually watch it. I'm getting older and haven't laughed out loud in a long time, and that reveal was the hardest I've laughed for a literal straight minute at anything in years. They just looked absolutely fucking ridiculous XD

About 10 years ago i was deep into the wrestling bubble. But i also had the wherewithal to see that i was. So i would tamper my views on things. The point is, Tony is the deepest ive seen a rich person to ever be in this wrestling thing. To reference Cagematch as some kind of epitome of what matters and what is key is incredibly concerning.

Personally. if I were the booker, I’d make Eddie Kingston challenge for the title since he won the tournament, I’d also replace hook with Wardlow. Seriously, he needs a world title push, and I’d have hook be in Wardlow’s spot in the Devil faction. And remove Strickland and Page out of the picture. Or more likely add Strickland in later into the storyline. That way it can be a 4-way race for the world title between guys who have been built up and are actually over. And so that each one can challenge for the title in either one on ones and even an annual 4-way between Joe, Strickland, Wardlow, and Kingston in a paperview.
But I’m not a booker so I don’t know how good this would actually work out, but it’s better then nothing

Brian keeps talking about the cable universe shrinking, but dynamite is pretty much only on cable, so it's not like there are a bunch of viewers watching on some other format.

What made ECW great to me was the fact that it highlighted new talent, and it had a vibe that tapped into what was going on in society at the time.
It was like a brick through a plate glass window. Even though the shows had a feeling of "flying of the rails" at any minute, the ring psychology behind it all was sound.

I watched the very end of this week’s Dynamite not long after listening to this breakdown, and what they predicted for Hangnail and the title picture is absolutely going to happen.
I also got to see him run out to a deafening chorus of silence. No one wants this except for the Snowman.

TNA has never been as bad as people say. AEW has never been as good as (some, fewer now) people say.
I wish AEW would do video introductions for debuting wrestlers. Its been an issue since day one.

A friend of mine DMed me some screenshots from comments on a post on AEW's Instagram mentioning the bucks returning to Dynamite and even AEW fans were trashing them. I went to the post and the comments were so bad that AEW limited the comments on that particular post to where people couldn't comment anymore. Lol
Tickets were probably bought by resellers that lost money.

We all need to accept that Edge went to AEW for Christian, and along the way he's receiving fat checks. I can't blame him for that. I, too, would do whatever my boss said if I was in that same situation (i.e. working with my best friend while making huge money)
Cornette's version of Bambi would be better than modern Disney movies.

Catching up on this late... FWIW, I thought the Adam Page vs Claudio match was decent. Too much time spent outside the ring, obviously, and Page has to get his blind moonsault in, but they kept up the intensity, sold, weren't too obviously cooperating, switches of momentum generally worked etc. I think the idea with the finish was that the first buckshot was supposed to be a glancing blow, just enough to set Claudio up for the second. It would help if commentary said so though.
Guevara vs Starks was pretty bad. They didn't gel with each other at all and the timing of moves was off. Maybe Sammy was rusty? Also, pinning someone off a superkick in 2024 is just burying them. Shawn Michaels's heyday was a long time ago.
The 8-person tag matches just became tedious once you realised they were going to be won by Dark Order alumni, despite Anna Jay and Preston Vance being arguably the worst workers in their matches. I have no issue with women wrestlers showing a lot of cheek in their matches if they're comfortable with that. (For once Skye, Julia, Anna and Saraya were joined by Stat in cake club.) I do take issue with the randomness. What the hell is Thunder Rosa doing on a throwaway match like this when she was only just back in the fold?
The Sting match was OK, but having Hobbs & Takeshita as the opponents was a bad idea. They are just too young and powewful. Having Sting stand toe to toe with them became incredibly hard to believe.
