Thanks! My left hand is pretty fatigued by the end of it.

Well played Eric, such a poetic piece.

Very nice, Eric! I remember this one being an LH killer. I always tell myself that I should play some Albeniz (either guitar or piano) and then I start and I'm like, "naaah - I'll pass" LOL

You nailed it about the left hand. By the end, I have to play the barres with my thumb off the neck and pulling with my arm. This and Mallorca are the only Albeniz I have managed to get my fingers around.

Thank you, Alan! It is pretty challenging for my left hand, but thankfully it’s not a fast piece (although after listening to myself play, I think there are parts that I do need to play a bit faster).

@@ericphillips7057 apiece like that will always need to be worked on !!
Will you keep practicing this one even though you have it recorded??
Do you keep some pieces that are recorded in your hands ,?
The tendency is to leave them go by the wayside is nt it 🙈

@@AlanMcCarthyguitar Yes, I will continue practicing this. I worked on it just this morning for about 30 minutes, and I am already playing it quite differently (a bit faster especially).
You are right, the tendency is to stop playing a piece once it is recorded. I often intend to keep a piece "in my fingers" but then life happens and I move on. I think this one may be a bit different, as it is such an incredible piece that practically everyone would enjoy. Also, despite its length, I have found it easy to memorize.

Well played, Eric! Your interpretation brought out some beautiful nuances in the piece. I did notice that the tempo was a bit more relaxed than what I’m used to hearing--which I do remember is your preference. The slower tempo gave it a unique and thoughtful feel. It might be interesting to experiment with a slightly faster tempo at times to see how it changes the overall dynamic. Admittedly, I listened to this a 2nd time at 1.25 speed and it was a captivating performance with the appropriate amount of Spanish flair. I suppose my familiarity with the Alica de Larrocha interpretation is likely influencing my tempo preference.

Thanks, Josh. After listening back to the recording, I agree that I am playing it too slowly. Since making this, I have been playing it quite a bit faster. Maybe I'll re-record it at some point.
