      This would be the natural step for mini motors to implement across the board run flat tires. Continuous improvement and never resting.
      Next up they should implement ip6 water rating and get that stem wall under control.

    Raimier made a good point about the short stem. The emove cruiser stem is taller than most dualtrons and Raimier had no problem with it. I think there should be a way to adjust height a little bit higher than the default

    split rims, rubber suspension should be the norm for scooters above 4 figures, definitely those over 2k anyway so we’ll done dual tron there. However what is missing from all scooters that should be standard in my view is a decent ip rating ideally ip55 but many don’t even hit ip54, a decent high mounted front light, and decent indicators. With all the bad press about scooters and safety it baffles me to see the rental companies address this (already waterproof, have indicators and high mounted light) but the major players like dualtron etc in the private space seem to ignore all or some of these features consistently and focus more on the arms race of acceleration and speed at each price point. Apollo are on the right track having some suspension on their base “air” scooter line up but only ip54, ninebot max has the ip but no suspension, vsetts have the front and back indicators but not bright enough, Apollo phantom has great indicators but only at back but a high mounted front light and everyone seems to forget some of us want the option of a thumb throttle without spending more on aftermarket one! Someone please marry all these features together!

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree on the IP ratings, but I'll take non split rims, since it's the only way to have tubeless tires. T-Paul

    • @e-scooterguy
      @e-scooterguy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide yeh Apollo went with tubes tyres as they seem to provide more comfort but if you have good suspension then split rims tubeless the way to go just like road vehicles. Just need decent ip rating and puncture resistance technology as standard across all scooters along with it.

Is there a durability concern?

  • @beardedbear4737
    @beardedbear4737 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ive got a few issues with my thunder 2.
    The rear brake was sliding , they only supply 1 spacer. The aluminium washer doesnt allow it to grip when tight. So it slid into my rim. Removing the washer and tightening up, this fixed it.
    The stem is also atrocious with wobble. 2 m8 bolts instead of the quick release is a short term fix. But a clamp upgrade is necessary.
    It also needs a taller stem if you are tall.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the info about your scooter. For the stem clamp, we clamp the top one, then get the bottom one as tight as we can, and then go back and do the top one again. Somtimes continuing one more round. It's similar to how we used to do the Apollo Pro etc. But I agree, it would be nice to have a better stem clamp.
      CarbonRevo sells bar risers. There is definitely enough brake cable to allow the bars to go up an inch, maybe two inches, but the 3" riser they sell is asking for trouble, as it will cause the cables to get pulled a lot, or may not even be possible to use with the original cables.
      We're encouraged that Kaabo finally went taller on the Wolf King GT and hope that the Dualtron scooters follow.

    I’m in the market for a third scooter and it’s been real tough to make a decision. This seems like it could be a good choice but they’re are factors in all my options that leave me scratching my head. I have two Nanrobots and REALLY appreciate their longer decks and relatively shallow foot rests. I feel like I have room to breathe. Most of the others have this really short deck and steep footrests. This seems uncomfortable as with high power I would prefer to be in a more planted spread stance. If their reasoning is portability, I disagree. The negative side of no plug and play wiring outweighs any creature comforts that might be with the lighting or other conveniences. If you’re going to make other things easier on the rider, why not include plug and play?? These cons are such a problem because in spite of any awesome warranties, we all have to be our own repair and maintenance techs unless we’re willing to spend a shit ton shipping it back. ALL of these scooters need to be built with this in mind. Then maybe our choices will be easier to make.

      That's amazing. Has it been modified? Was this on flat ground?
      For our top speed runs, I do two 1/2 mile speed runs in opposite directions, on flat ground, at sea level, fully tucked so my eyes are at handlebar level or lower. The scooters are fully charged and in top performance mode. Then I take the highest sustained speeds from the southbound run and the northbound run and average them together to cancel out the effect of any small headwind or tailwind.
      In four runs on two different days we were getting a consistent top speed of 61 mph. (software limit is about 84mph).

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's adjustable, but this is the stock position. One bad thing that happens when you lower them is the swingarm gets longer in the horizontal direction which causes it to be further forward relatie to the pivot point for the steering. This reduces trail, and makes the front end less stable. I tried lowering our Dualtron Storm and the reduction in stability was noticeable. Lowering the rear has no negative effect on stability though. -Paul
