finally base model review always seeing the preferred only, thanks!
Thx for the comment!
@@edsgarage001thank you for reviewing the base model🎉
No worries!
Base model reviews are always good
Thanks!
I LOVE your base model reviews. I Have a 2022 Elantra Essential (auto) in Cyber Grey that I bought after watching your review on it. I mainly bought it because it was the cheapest "real" car you could buy new in Canada other than a Chevy Spark or Mitsubishi Mirage.
In may 2022 I paid $22,600 out the door with 0.99% interest. At that price the value couldn't be beat. Constantly get over 40 mpg (us) . I track every fill up. My best was 53.62mpg or 4.39L/100km. 10.066L to go 243kms
Thanks for the comment! Glad I could help!
That's some pretty stellar fuel economy!!
I bought my 2023 civic mainly cuz hyundai waiting time was crazy and I needed a car asap my interest is at 5.1% the day after I put the my name on the next car the rates went up and I live in Canada
Hi, can I ask a question - what do you think of the ground clearance of the elantra, 5.4 inches, have you ever felt it's too low for certain road conditions?
Well if there's 10 inches of snow on the road.... Then yeah.
But it's not really any lower then any other typical sedan
@@edsgarage001 true, thanks for the reply
Thanks for the review! There seems to be a lot of improvement made this year. Like additional Usb type C ports. Please do post a review of preferred sun and tech variant whenever you get your hands on it.
Oh absolutely! Thx for the comment!
I just bought a 2024 Elantra base a few days ago. I wish mine had heated seats and fog lights lol. It’s a great car, very comfortable and great on gas!! I was surprised all the safety feature come equipped on it
There are companies that can add heated seats.
Thx for the comment!
@@edsgarage001 thank you for your help! Any company you recommend?
Generally it's smaller companies that do it... If you were near where I live, I'd suggest "United auto interiors" or "certified auto"
But they only have a handful of locations
I had the 2021 Elantra SEL Convenience Pearl White I complained about the Halogen headlamps being too dim at night I’m glad the new 2024s now has standard LEDs, good job Hyundai.
Thanks for the comment!
Have you upgraded to LEDs since then?
@@edsgarage001 I did, but I needed something little bit bigger so i traded it in for a White 23’ Tucson SEL.
Good choice!
You're definitely right about the amazing mileage on these cars.. I drove my 2023 essential down to florida from quebec and got 62.2 mpg on a 200 mile section of U.S.13, which is a quiet and flat back road. I set my odometer to miles and went the 55mph speed limit.. hitting very few red lights at night time.. so this was exceptional.. but even on the interstate at 65mph, I got crazy good mileage. Btw, 62.2 mpg is 3.78 litres per 100 clicks. And it was even higher than that on the first half before I hit any red lights.. 67 or 68 mpg if I recall.. anyways, I was so impressed, I kept a pic of my info screen showing it. 😂
WOW!!
They might gave you hybrid by mistake check with a technician 😂😂
Hi, can I ask a question - what do you think of the ground clearance of the elantra, 5.4 inches, have you ever felt it's too low for certain road conditions?
@@David_Liu93 Yes.. there have been times when I scraped the bottom of the front end.. but mostly from going over large speed bumps too fast. My elantra had 15 inch tires, so that was a contributing factor. I traded in my Essential for an N line (17 inch tires) this past July, and so far I don't have that problem anymore.
@@MK-fc2hn thank you for the reply
Thank you very much for these videos, Ed! There are not a lot of youtubers doing base trim reviews unfortunately. Also, I would like to kindly ask you to share a video of Corolla le vs Elantra base trim video if possible. I am looking for a compact sedan and need to make a choice btw two, so if you could, that would be awesome to watch. Thanks again for this channel!
I don't get access to new Corollas very often, but if I do, I'll make a comparison vid
Please post more videos when you receive the other trims! I think you're the first in canada to receive these. I am very curious about the Preferred + tech and luxury
Absolutely!
Thx for the comment!
Thanks for the great review.
Thanks for the comment!
Hi, great review. I was wondering, can I access google maps through android auto in the car's screen?
Yes absolutely, that's actually pretty much the most common use for Android auto. 🙂
Check out my android auto tips video here:
th-cam.com/video/YA-npNvRWTQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DIvK1t8Uj4CuGt2p
Thank you for the video! I pick mine up tomorrow :)
Congrats!
@@edsgarage001Thank you! I can't wait, I'm so excited! 😊
@@JustTheToyStuffdo you love it?
@@alannashaw I like it, I like the steering and lane assist the most.
@@JustTheToyStuff just picked mine up yesterday :)
I'm glad I saw this video. Almost ordered a 2024 Elantra SE in the US and I didn't realize they changed the instrument cluster. That rpm readout sucks.
That's your reason for not wanting one? Lol 😆
@@edsgarage001 yeah the analog gauges from the 2023 MY looks way better. A numerical readout is lame 🤷♂️ doesn't really convey information as well.
I find the digital speedometer to be much easier to read on a quick glance.
If it were a manual transmission, sure then an analog tach is preferred. But for an auto? Meh....
I just got mine on Sunday and i love it so far
Im 6'3 about 290 its spacious on other smaller sedans my head toches the roof and in this one it dosent
Nice! Congrats!
this is so nice..Thanks for doing this
No problem!
The hybrid model wait time in Canada is 8 months+. I may just settle for a gas model, maybe a Sonata sports model 🤔
The gas model is crazy efficient
😢waaaaaahhh, my 2023 Preferred Sun Tech is no longer the latest greatest. I like the front end on the 2024 more than my 2023. Thanks for the review, and I BTW, we enjoyed your EV across Canada vids as well
Thanks Rick!
Apt review for the customers 👍
Thx for the comment!
I've looked at the pricing sheets and didn't see this indicated but in this video very clearly shows that the new 2024 Elantra SE has heated seats. Is that the case with all of the 2024 Elantra SEs? I'm just confused as to why they would included that in the base model and then make you pay for it in the convenience package for the SEL.
This is the Canadian version, it's slightly different. Note, I don't mention "SE" anywhere 🙂
Here it's called the "Essential"
Do you know when you will be making a video for the Preferred and Luxury trims?
As soon as I get some on the lot .. probably within a month
Please review Kona 2024 essential!!!
Yes yes....
Hyundai Canada website says the preferred tech now comes with the 17 inch luxury rims, have you seen one?
Not yet, this is the first 24 I've seen
Ah okay, I think you’re the first to post one in Canada!
You may be right 😁
Yes, I also think that this is the first 2024 Elantra video in Canada. Please do it for preferred sun and tech as well.
Oh I will
does this vehicle triim have Nature Sounds on the radio???
@@barnabusthomas1010 no, not on this trim level.
23 Tucson's has the quiet mode
Yes several Hyundai models have it
is there blind spot detection warning?
Not in the base trim... You'd need to go up one level to get that
@@edsgarage001 I think ther is actually
Nope, just sold one and it doesn't. At least, not in Canada.
I thought only the preferred tech had a digital cluster? I was told the preferred without tech had an analog cluster.
Yes... That's correct. Why? Did I say otherwise somewhere?
Oh, I think I see what you're referring to.
So, a "digital" instrument cluster is standard, but only with digital numbers and a small 4.2" LCD screen in the center.
The full 10.25" LCD digital screen is in the tech package and up.
BCA on this trim?
No, only the higher trims.
@everyone How is Elantra 2021 to 2024 quality? Please answer owners
two questions please.
How low is it getting in and out of the car?
Does that little divider thing between the front seats prevent people from holding hands or touching one another while going on a long drive?
Thanks
It's not very low for a sedan..
And no, not really
Did u get a chance to get a glimpse of the the elantra 2024 preferred WITHOUT TECH package ? if so did it have the same odometer as this essential's or different?
Haven't seen one yet... Getting a couple in next month.
But yeah the preferred will definitely have the same instrument cluster as the Essential.
I heard that if you choose tech package on preferred or the line above with 10.25 in display you lose wireless apple carplay/ android auto. Is this true?
That used to be the case, as there was a disagreement between Google, Apple and Hyundai as to what the "Map" button would do. However, it seems they've sorted that out. So as I understand it, wireless Android auto/CarPlay will now finally be standard in future Hyundais.
@@edsgarage001that's cool
@@edsgarage001 are those small lights below the head light are the turn signal or the one right beside are the ones? Other videos that seems like from Europe, or US have a bit different design for same base trim that quite confuses me.
Those are turn signals. Not many reviewers do base models though.
@@edsgarage001thank you for the answer, I found from other videoes thay the Elantra 2024 SEL model which I assume equivalent to preferred+tech pkg in here Canada are showing where the day light LED is located, but the preferred+tech still had same turn signal like essentials. Does Hyundai provide different designs depends on country?
Does Hyundai Blue Link work with this Elantra essential?
No, the base models don't generally come with bluelink
What color is this?
Cyber grey.
@@edsgarage001 do they have this in the US for the base model?
No idea... I'm in Canada. The info hasn't been added to Hyundai USA website yet.
Where do we put our sunglasses ? Is the pocket lost?
Yep... It's gone 😞
I just bought a little magnetic leather clip on AliExpress. I actually prefer it more now.
@@edsgarage001Awesome, if you have a link I'll buy it thanks to you 😁
Not sure if TH-cam will allow the link but... I'll send it in my next comment
a.aliexpress.com/_mPvq64s
Added a link into the video description as well...
Do you know if korean made base elantra is the same as canadian base elantra?
Usually the Korean versions will have more features. But the vehicle chassis and engine will generally be the same.
What? What happened to the panoramic touch screen?
This is the base model... the base model has never had anything bigger.
when i try to build one on the website i don't see fog lights? is that an option?
No, no fog lights on these.
@@edsgarage001 then what is that glass housing that looks like a fog light in the thumbnail of this video for this car?
Those are the turn signals...
They're kept low in order to prevent the headlight from effectively washing them out... AND so that they're more visible in fog. But they're not fog lights.
@@edsgarage001 oh ok so kind of like the new refresh of the Hyundai Kona how they have the lights separate. ok thanks for clearing that up because when I went to the Hyundai website to look at the model you reviewed I didn't even see the turn signal light the whole area was just cladding
@@edsgarage001 oh I just realized you must be in Canada or have a Canada model because the US version doesn't have the turn signals seperated
Is there heated seats in base model?
Yes... At least, in Canada in there is.
Does this model come with heated mirrors?
Yes, actually every Hyundai has come with heated mirrors for many years. They come on when you turn on the rear defrost.
What color
Cyber grey
Not an SE because SE does not have heated seat on the 2024 how do I know because I own one
You're right, as they don't sell anything called an SE in Canada.. this is an "Essential" trim.
nice,,,, you missed the wifi :))
I mentioned wireless carplay/AA at the 6 minute mark.
But in Canada, we don't get Wi-Fi hotspot in the car
@@edsgarage001 aww thats a bummer for canada ,, someday maybe :))
Meh, not a super common feature that people want anyway.
Peut on avoir des pneus et mags plus grand pour ce Hyundai , j’ai une Hyundai Elantra essentiel 2024 mais je trouve que les pneus standard sont trop petit
The top trim on the Elantra has 18" wheels... So yes, you can definitely get a larger wheel size.
But you are not able to do that from factory, you would need to buy them separately.
@@edsgarage001 that size is good for Hyundai Elantra essentials 2024 “ 225/45 R18 ?
Price in ontario?
See Hyundai Canada website for the MSRP, but check with dealers in your area as they're likely marking them up.
@@edsgarage001Lol "likely"
Hopefully Hyundai updated the engine so they don't blow like previous yrs😅
The Elantra hasn't really had that issue much. It's generally the Santa Fe, Tucson and Sonata.
But yes, they're all using different engines now.
Hi
Hello
The back huge black bumper is so ugly!
Basic essential model is only for drive test. Shame of Hyundai. My 2023 essential model ordered at Jan has not been fulfilled yet!
Looks are subjective
They seriously need to ditch the keyed ignition!!! Kia boys need to eventually be stopped
In Canada we have immobilizers, so despite the key ignition they are still way harder to steal than in the USA without the immobilizer.
