One of my favorite League tidbits: Fiddlesticks, the Demon King of Fear, has voice lines towards other champions, highlighting that champion's fear. Its voice line to Kindred? "Grey Man." Signifying two things: Firstly, that Fiddlesticks is old enough to remember the Grey Man, and second, it highlights Kindred's deepest fear - being alone.

I believe that Kindred are the current primary death entity everywhere. The Fox and the Ionian spirits were previous iterations that have lost believers but not enough to be consumed.
The Ruination novel reveals that even across the Eternal Ocean and centuries ago, the people of Camavor and it's surrounding states believe in the Lamb and the Wolf
I think Wolf and lamb are the main grim reaper, and the other "deaths" are just minor ones that still exists cause people still believe in them just like other tribes in real life who worship other gods and their own beliefs

One great example is in the story of olaf and sej where they hunted a mamoth and othe of their tribes man is left for death sej said to give the wolf a good hunt and scare the lamb.
Kindred is also worshiped in Freljord and Bilgewater, as well as in Ionia, if we consider Spirit Blossom Kindred skin.
And in Camavor as well.

Everything in LOR should be considered a "what if".

I'm pretty sure Kindred, being Lamb and Wolf, are the *_main_* iteration/embodiment of death. The reason? In their Voice lines and Lore, Kindred was once one being. A male being that came for all, and was feared and unwanted by all. So seeking a friend, the man took an axe and split himself in two, so he could always have a friend.
This "Man" could possibly be Death itself, seeing as how death comes for all and everyone both fears and wishes that death would not come for them. Of course with all the different beings and lore in League of Legends this is only what I think. It may not be true.
retconned unfortunately, kindred was still “the gray man” but is now just another death spirit instead of just the concept of death (spirits that are in charge of taking souls of mortals when they die, so they’re nothing to celestial beings and other “soulless” beings) albeit a particularly powerful one.
Sadly retconned. So much shit is lost to retcons nowadays. Not a good time to be a lore-liking person.

I like the old lore of Kindred more as it's more mysterious, showing them off as this mystical unstoppable force of nature that even aurelion Sol will have to face some day. While this new version strip away that "sitting ontop of the food chain" vibe from Kindred, i do have to concede that it goves the writer more opportunities to expens on the character as the old lore while intersecting, at the end of the day when Kindred become untouchable they're unable to touch, giving them a lack of story and no connection to others
but isn't it the whole point. the entire point of kindred is that they are untouchable. the best would be to just leave them alone.

"having to face each other" is such a played out and basic trope. having multiple mysterious entities that usually don't even see each other adds so much more nuance.
Love it. Kindred is such a cool character. Didn't know the individual regions had different deaths tho. I thought it was for different creatures and kindred just happened to govern the mortal humanoids (idk how else to include stuff like Jack and Lilia)

Kindred: We're Death, straight up.
The Kindred, formerly being "the grey man" did not get a lore nerf from there being several entities in the death realm. The Kindret is the concept of death itself. No matter who you believe will guide your soul or what will happen with it afterwards, it has to go through the instance of death first. And that is Kindred.
All other beings are soul sheperts but Kindred is the one bringing in the souls.
I find Kindred's arrogance and disdain in response to The Lost Icon's warning fascinating:
Lost Icon: "I was feared once, just as you are now!"
Wolf: "What's that, Lamb?"
Lamb: "Something soon forgotten, dear Wolf."
You'd think they would respond with more humility and aknowledgement that even Death can die. But Kindred is the most widespread and powerful aspect of Death, so it is hard for them to even consider the possibility of ever being forgotten and falling to The Etherfiend.
They cannot conceive themselves as anything but the predators instead of prey. And yet we have things in Runeterra that would threaten Kindred's power.
This is why The Kindred despises those who have cheated death such as Pyke, Gangplank , Swain, Lissandra and The Ascended Host. Resenting and seething how these individuals have evaded them for so long.
For what happens when those who once feared Death can no longer die? The Lost Icon may be in desperate denial of their own death, but their warning to The Kindred, I believe, was genuine and yet, callously discarded like his very purpose.
That's interesting, I didn't really feel disdain from kindred's reply. To me it almost seemed closer to pity.
If not pity them maybe just an expression of kindred's gentle nature, like a stream flowing by the lost icon on its way.
Considering kindreds themes, i think they just don't care. His words are pointless, hes a desperate creature lashing out with and because of a simple truth.

@@travisprescott9708 They're ionian myths. So basically, all the spirit blossom skins are canon but not the skins being the champions themselves (except for kindred since it's just an ionian depiction of them)
@@travisprescott9708apparently except for kindred, and the spirits/souls of yasuo and yone, the rest of them is just a representation of the actual spirits, but using the characters to it, but theyre not the characters for real. Also lillia from spirit blossom is the same on real world, since she's a spiritual being after all, and was born at the same time from the same tree on both realms

An event that hasn't happened since a long time after the "Noxus invasion", that brought pain, fear and all this bad things. And that messed with all this shit cuz they need people to be okay, so the magical flowers can go alright? Lillia's mother, "The Dream Tree" basically needs people to dream so it can blossom, and with the war people could not dream of a better future or dream at all, just bad dreams. Just seems like ionia is weak because of the war and terror

I have always both loved and hate that they added more “spirits of death”, on one hand, I think it’s cool they exist and that they’re all over depending on the culture. But I also hate it, it made kindred feel way less unique or cool.
To me, if anything, Kindred is actual death, a true embodiment of death. They literally cannot be forgotten, they will always exist. And to me, these other “gods of deaths” are just spirits of deaths within their own regions. They would be underlings to Kindred in a way.
Death can do WHAT man different ways
I must say I prefer the original Kindred lore, with them being the “true” incarnation of death on Runeterra, as that is the lore that made me actually enjoy the champion in the first place.

I think the toad boi chased by the etherfiend was actually a grim reaper of the bacai as it was said in the lor wiki. Nonetheless a great short hope to see more lore vids by you.
That literally doesn't make any sense, the bacai are shuriman so they would just have the same grim reaper as shurima, and they are immortal so why would they even need to beleive grim reaper in the first place. And its been confirmed that the toad is the grim reaper of the blessed isles (now the shadow isles)

What I believe is that the other Deaths come from smaller cultures / factions not relevant to the big picture, and that the frog face has been erased by the Etherfiend long ago, we just see / repeat their encounter when we play both cards.
Or at least that’s how I see it, since if the frog face was Shuriman or the Isles it would’ve “died” long ago, same if it was for the Yordles, and from our understanding no major faction has achieved immortality “recently”, right?

I hadn't heard of the different death spirits, but I'm so glad they exist. I always wondered if Kindred had the power to multiply as death happens in so many places simultaneously, so the fact there is more than a single death spirit makes a lot of sense. My favorite death incarnation has to be the one of the Shadow Isles, he is the one who has almost totally disappeared as people from these isles have in a way cheated death.
noxus actually only believe in the wolf, because you need to fight until the end even death
It would be cool if they had legendary skins that were the other versions of them.

Kindred is also mentioned in the Ruination book so old Camavor believed in Wolf/Lamb/Kindred version too! (Or at least Ysolde believed in this version anyway)
Ionia mostly perceives the Child, playing with her wolf, as the 'entity' of death. I honestly think that the Mask Mother and the spirits are folklore that is being told around regions of runeterra for generations, but most of the time, death is perceived as "two halves of one whole", thus the Kindred. but the Kindred can either be a child or a wolf, or a lamb or a wolf, etc. It depends what the region tells stories about. Making them the most 'accurate' perception of death, in runeterra lore.

It's Noxus, Freljord, Bilgewater. I also believe the first lore ends with Wolf and Lamb in Demacia, as Golden Round is located in Demacia. Wolf and Lamb have a really long range, even in the Shadow Isles. Fiddlesticks also met the Kindred before they were Kindred, Grey man.
Exactly. This is why Kindred ain't the strongest champion. If some star dragon decided to "screw this world, let it all turn to dust!" And wiped everyone, Kindred would die with it as every single person that believes in him dies.
Same with a certain magician with a world rune that just says: "Screw being the guardian of the world, let me just Kaboom!"
Or some void queen going: "Time to invade!"

I want a champ who’s a skeletal swordsman, who’s just so good that he deflects Lambs arrows when she shows up, and Wolf is chill since he’s not actually running away, just slapping arrows until Lamb gives up and they leave.
Make his gimmick be redirecting skillshot, and storing them if he hits them precisely.
I wanna spend 10 minutes absorbing hits and then fire them all in the least team fight.

Kindred are the only ones remaining. At the least, they're the MAIN iteration of death. The other ones are the previous gods of death. Now either forgotten, or just barely holding on.

I am down for Rito to make a skin line of death. Just like spirit blossom skinline, the characters the skin represents are real lore from runeterra, but they are placed on champions. Would be even cooler if we got a character from it tho.
Like the mask mother. She can be a support class or something. She selects a champion and they recieve a mask that gives them buffs.

It shoild be mentioned, while the kindred is most prominant in demacia and noxus, it is also wildely beleived in within other lands as well, and will claim souls in places souch as tbe freljord and ionia
It seems like there is still only one death. But there are various versions of death as they are depicted and thought of by cultures. LoR has really muddied the waters on a very clear picture of death.

everyone is already talking about how wolf and lamb are the primary entity for most of runeterra, but also...lamb isn't for those who are "brave" enough to face it - it is primarily dictated by culture who they will die to. while demacians are supposed to die with honor and dignity by lamb, in noxus and the freljord, the honorable thing to do is run to prove you are strong enough to survive, or as a way to honor wolf for taking their enemies in the past. bilgewater is more mixed.
It is said that a true demacian will choose the arrow, while in the dark streets of Nexus, Wolf leads the hunt
So basically anyone in the shadow islands can obliterate the kindreds.
The kindreds and the other dudes are just aspects of death, they are not the real death
