@@509trails It’s sad to say but you’re right, plastic gears on a $167 dollar reel is just being cheap. I went ahead and brought the daiwa saltist lw 50 lch better made reel. Thanks for the review, this was very helpful in the this is process
No... it's true. The reel is shit. I repair reels. This model has changed since the last release of 50 LW's. The eccentric jack gets hung up every time you release the spool. This causes the pinion to chip away at the spool shaft key. I feel your pain dude. The reel is certifiably shit.
What do you recommend? I almost bought a Penn from Cabelo
I recommend the daiwa saltist. They make a 50. It's a really good real easy to cast
It has a warranty
It’s difficult to believe, only because you made the review with the reel still in the water ?
Check the other video and see the gear for yourself

Im also not a fan of the "made in Chynuh" Penns....have a couple older "made In USA" those are great
I would have to agree with you
Convert it to a conventional reel, bud...good luck
I kinda tried that when I made the video. I just bought the gear off line now I have a few in by bag just in case it happens again
