"The tragedy of the people of Palestine is that their country was “given” by a foreign power to another people for the creation of a new state. The result was that many hundreds of thousands of innocent people were made permanently homeless. With every new conflict their numbers increased. How much longer is the world willing to endure this spectacle of wanton cruelty?" ~ Bertrand Russell.

This is the ugly truth...and what is worrying is the way so called western democracies support this obviously lunatic unjust antidemocratic occupation.
The west had absolutely no right to donate Palestine to Zionists .

Unjust ,, using tax payers Money to build infrastructure for attacking a nation, very unjust , please once get out of the continent you comfortably sit in . Visit the strip , it has enormous natural beauty, beaches that could have been major tourist destinations and would have funded the growth of Palestinian people.however no nation wanted to invest is HAMAS - reson being they don’t really trust the genocidal organisation like HAMAS . Lets talk more about the organisation that keeps on fighting knowing that thousands of their own citizens are dying . Such generous leadership- leading people into death , hunger , famine and suffering. Bravo HAMAS

Maria, I think it was much more than just giving the Zionists the status of state, this also happened with the use of Rockefeller funds....10 March 1948, a group of
eleven men, veteran Zionist leaders together with young military Jewish officers,
put the final touches to a plan for the ethnic cleansing of Palestine. That same
evening, military orders were dispatched to the units on the ground to prepare for
the systematic expulsion of the Palestinians from vast areas of the country.3 The
orders came with a detailed description of the methods to be employed to
forcibly evict the people: large-scale intimidation; laying siege to and
bombarding villages and population centres; setting fire to homes, properties and
goods; expulsion; demolition; and, finally, planting mines among the rubble to
prevent any of the expelled inhabitants from returning. Each unit was issued
with its own list of villages and neighbourhoods as the targets of this master
plan. Codenamed Plan D (Dalet in Hebrew), this was the fourth and final version
of less substantial plans that outlined the fate the Zionists had in store for
Palestine and consequently for its native population. The previous three schemes
had articulated only obscurely how the Zionist leadership contemplated dealing
with the presence of so many Palestinians living in the land the Jewish national
movement coveted as its own. This fourth and last blueprint spelled it out clearly
and unambiguously: the Palestinians had to go.4 In the words of one of the first
historians to note the significance of that plan, Simcha Flapan, ‘The military
campaign against the Arabs, including the “conquest and destruction of the rural
areas” was set forth in the Hagana’s Plan Dalet’.5 The aim of the plan was in fact
the destruction of both the rural and urban areas of Palestine

If the Ottoman Empire was not as weak as it was, the foreign power would have no opportunity to "give" their land to another people. But the Ottoman empire was weak and the question has to be asked - why? And who's fault was that given we all know the consequences of losing a war?

Israel thru this genocide of the Palestinians has lost the respect and standing they once enjoyed in the world. Now not only here in the US but throughout much if in fact not most of the world Israel is viewed to be more in tune with the Nazis and their handling of genocide against the Jewish people. Palestine has every right to exist as a free and recognized country in it's own right, with out living in constant fear of death and destruction from the Israeli government or the trespassers that refer to themselves as Settlers living on stolen land they have no right too....

I think it’s erroneous for your guest to say that the long term problem is the conflict between Israel and Palestinians.
The core problem we have is the illegal occupation by Israel and the failure by the UN to create a Palestinian State.

    • @katong1953

Failure of the UN? No, the UN is not structured to solve any problems unless everyone in the Security Council agrees.
The one that truly could solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, but has failed to do so, is America. The problem is that the US is not an honest broker. It's there to let Israel take everything it wants, and leave crumbs for the Palestinians.

Israel would need to give up on being “the Jewish state” and allowing right of return for Jews around the world and not allowing it for Palestinians. As per Google AI, Apartheid is a system of racial segregation that involves denying civil and political rights to a racial group. The word apartheid comes from the Afrikaans word apartness. So yeah. There’s apartheid especially in the West Bank where Israel has many illegal settlements.

    • @noecadavona1862

This is not Africa. Apartheid was a system of institutionalized racial segregation that existed in South West Africa. It was characterized by authoritarian political culture, which ensured that South Africa was dominated politically, socially and economically by the nation's minority white population. These scenarios do not happen in the West Bank. Jerusalem in 1967 was liberated by Israel during the war. Jerusalem is part of the West Bank. You call the Israeli settler which is not a right word for the proper word should be colonizer because they get Jerusalem as the prize of winning the war and the loser lost the land.😂

While we would all like to see a pause in the human suffering in Gaza, the real question becomes why has the goal of a two solution been largely silenced? Momentum is with the people of Palestine now and this is their chance to negotiate a fair and lasting peace for their people. Israel has made its intentions clear. It is to either kill or drive out the Palestinian population of Gaza. The Israeli’s will take their land and develop it for themselves. If a negotiation beyond a cease-fire is not made now, then it will be quite possible that the Palestinian people will soon be forgotten. I would add that thousands of lives have been lost and have paid the ultimate price under Israeli rule. What would their voices want?

Respectfully and truthfully there is a no Palestine land. This is a lie created by terrorist leaders. There is an Israeli Gaza land. This land was long given to the Jewish people by the God of Abraham your leaders are purposely leaving out .. making u ignorant of true history and what GOD commanded. Fact: Israel land was given to the Jewish people by God after freed from Pharoh in Roman times. God said this land was to be for Jewish people ( the Apple of His eye) and NEVER divided! ( Gods words not mine) it’s all in scripture.. plain as day if took time to read and accept Gods word.
Hamas threatened the Jewish peoples existence and through common sense, accept it is right for Israeli’s and leaders to protect the nation and lives of Jewish peoples. To believe otherwise, is to believe an illusion or ask that which u would never tolerate yourself ( cruelty, death, constant threats). Jewish people have the right to peace in their own land, worship in their in own city without
Threats from those who occupy thier city. There are many Arabs living within the city, next to, and friends with Jewish people. However, there are also those out of arrogance and non entitlement who want everything .. ( just as Satan wanted everything for itself that was not his but belonged to God). It got it kicked out of Gods grace forever.
No man is better than any other man, and every man has a God given right to protect himself & people. No one owes Gazans anything with they support terrorist .. please get real with yourself and stop repeating propaganda when u lack a full understanding of both sides

Truly amazing that when the Russia Ukraine war started millions of Ukrainians were welcomed in to Europe and other countries. Since the start of and to date, the Israel Hamas war, no countries have offered the same. Not even the countries that border, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria.

Israel always say never forget the holocaust with reason, how will the Palestinians remember this blood bath in the Gaza Strip.
In the same vein the Palestinians will never forget this holocaust from the sky and the ground.
In my view this has exposed the double standards by the leading Western powers going to support the rights of the people of Ukraine yet it seems that the lives of the Palestinians are not so important.
This conflict has exposed the Palestinian issue to the world that was dormant, it has divided opinions within Europe and America and this time there has to be a real genuine interest by everyone to invest in the protection of the Palestinians.
The first step must be taken by the Israeli people and bring down the ultra right wing Netanyahu government.
I still remember the widow of the murdered Israeli prime minister in 1995 saying that the blood of her husband was in Netanyahu's hands.
This man is just a dictator and the sooner that he is removed from power the better.
I pray that common sense may prevail and that in years to come that a lasting solution will be found for the people of this region but one where there has to be mutual respect for each other.
Clearly the US government has to get off the fence, but the strong Jewish lobby is making sure of buying out many of the US Congressmen, yet there has been a significant shift in the US at grassroots level and something that will have to be taken into account.
The Vietnam war was lost in US soil with the massive demonstrations in the early 1970s.
The same is going to occur now, Israel should take stock that without US support they are totally isolated and the days of Israel as a country would be numbered.
That is why Netanyahu has to go, he has become a maverick without any military objective other than his own political survival.

Maby hamas should of thought better now they put the all of gaza in destruction. Don't. Toss a match in a forest fire and there are chances it can ignite the whole forest. On🔥🔥 and fire has no say in where it burns it affects all around. And saddly that includes civilians.
