    The majority don't understand the techniques behind real kung fu. I can definately see the power, speed and skill behind your techniques. This style is straight to the point. As my Sifu has always said "You should end the fight in a matter of seconds". This is a great video. Keep up the good work.

      A lot of people think sometimes is kung fu not very effective but they dont understand the forms. In the forms are secrets. The techniques comes after understand the forms and as the Body and Mind has this automatically. Dont know how to explain that better.

    I'm not familiar with any non-CLC Bak Mei, but I must admit that you've dedicated a lot of time, energy and commitment to your faction of Fut San Bak Mei, it's impressive and I enjoy watching your contributions. Keep up the good work. I look forward to learning more by viewing.

    @jadewillow why do you speak to the MMA in this chat? i practice real figthing techniques, for the street, for kill a man, not for competition with rules. The MMA have many rules and it's not real situation

  • @Jianghumartialscholars
    @Jianghumartialscholars  14 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    @daironmonk Exactly, speed and flexibility = power! Many exercices for that, but in first, you do practice Fat San Pak Mei beacause it's the practice of this system develope your power, your speed... be relaxed, punch with the tantien. it's the stratégie of the system.
    best regards

  • @Jianghumartialscholars
    @Jianghumartialscholars  13 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    @renegadesoulful Maybe you don't have see the video... Many techniques with two hands attack, also, this is a real figth situation, not to many "echange", if you figth to much echance it's because no power in your punch, Fasan Pakmei is fast and powerful,

    The CLC lineage has something similar but it's a set drill. They have a few drills done to enhance contact reflex also. I don't know about the fatsan Bak Mei or most lineages, but when I was learning we did a variation of Chi Sau. But our lineage used Si Lum Tao as a basic form also so, again it's probably not consistent.

  • @BlueFang714
    @BlueFang714 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yeah the instructor was friends with people from many different systems. So forms and movements were borrowed to teach to beginners, including mantis forms, choy li fut, wing chun, etc.
    My dad was actually the only one to get the Bak Mei forms, each of the others just focused on different things in the end.

    There is also a legend that Liu Shaoliang had studied with Zhu Yuan Daoist Priest (a fellow of Zhu Yun Buddhist monk, from Guangxiao Buddhist Temple). Although Qiu Taisheng had been teaching in Foshan he did not gain much popularity. However when Liu Shaoliang joined him, together they had much more success and some of their key students include: Liu Chuanji, Qiu Deji, Chen Youmin (your SiFu Chan Yau Man), Pang Shaosheng, Chen Shuji, Liang Yuxi and Liang Rungen.
    Do you concur?

    I have to ask, do you or your students do anything form of strength training to help attain the spped and power is it simply all gained from repetitive skill work? I ask simply becasue speed and strength =power and you appear to have a great deal of power in your technique.

    My uncle's friend was a master of Bak Lo Yun Yeung Quan (White Egret Mandarin Duck Fist). It is related to Bak Mei somehow. The salute is also very similar. Only difference is, all fingers of the top hand is curled except for the pointer finger, and it was called, "One incense towards heaven". He showed me some of it before, and I can see a lot of the same techniques in Bak Mei.

    So this is Bak Mei... I study Ng Ga Kuen or Five Family/Five Animals style... thousands of years ago, Bak Mei, the creator of Bak Mei Kung Fu, killed Jee Sin, the man who trained all Five elders who created my style. Some think people from our two different styles should bear resentment towards each other, but I believe Bak Mei is a great style and respect your expert practice of it. Regards from Mexico!

    Sifu, have you practiced Bajiquan in Foshan, together with Pak Mei Kyun?

    • @Jianghumartialscholars
      @Jianghumartialscholars  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, no, i dont think there is Baji Quan in Foshan, there, we can find the styles that follow: Fatsan Pakmei, Long Ying, Choy Lee Fat, Wing Chun, Hung Gar, Liu He Ba Fa, Taiji Quan, Mulan Quan and in some minor way 7 stars Tanglang, Ying Zhao Fanzi Quan and Nan Quan (a style that got this name, not the modern one) and Pak Long Kune (a hybrid style that was created combining Pakmei and Long Ying).

    Is it me or this style has no high kicks? Maybe because it is not needed?

    • @anthonyton283
      @anthonyton283 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      High kicks are too risky and leaves your nuts wide open. But if you're good at em, you're good at em. Nothing is against the rules. It's just not the most practical move.

    • @silafuyang8675
      @silafuyang8675 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Close range, no space for high kicks. High kicks are good for two situations: 1. to finish somebody who got too far after setting up the kick with punches or push. 2. To make distance when somebody who is trying to close it. Actually for the second one, middle kick is the best option, but high kicks work too, if you can kick. Kicking is much harder to learn than punching, though.

  • @SynS7ven

    definate choy li fut influence here. i see a definate wing chun influence here aswell. isn't it a "big no no" to turn your back to your opponent in bak mei??? i'm pretty sure it is in CLC Guangzhou and HK lineage.
    no disrespect intended. whether this is pure bak mei or not, it looks good. nice posture, good jing, good speed. although ive noticed your stance is ALOT deeper than what ive been taught. maybe this is due to ur height? having to sink lower to work on the same level of ur students?

    @stormfront12:you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. FIRST, kungfu is not illegal, although it was attacked during the cultural revolution (1966-76) today it is a cherished part of the chinese heritage and is shamelessly promoted by the government. SECOND: kung fu isnt one style, it is a broad term covering many styles, some of which are genius, others can be garbage. and just as a side note, not all monks wear orange, most are middle aged or youner and clean shaven.
