To play that good you have to practice at least 4 hours a day with a good teacher. It's hard to believe that this little girl had so much patience in that age. All of her phrases and breathing are just perfect.
This is about the most amazing virtuoso performance by a child I have ever seen. Thank you for posting it. So few pianists of any age can match her technique or skill--such feeling. Bravo!
I'm always at a loss as to why people argue over whether the performer is a "technician" or a "virtuosu". Why do humans let our ego's dictate so much to us, it is music, how it is performed is irrelevant, all that matters is if it connects with you or not. If it does enjoy the beauty of the moment, if it does not, find something that does as those moments are to be cherished. For me I always enjoy seeing the inner beauty of someone shining through, especially children, always more special.
What is gorgeous here is that this isn't just a child prodigy machine putting on a display. She has moved beyond coping with the challenges of playing/memorizing it and moved on to a marvellous performance that she is enjoying. It is spectacular to get here with Mozart ever since his work is much tougher to do great than anyone else.

All I can say - Ami is way, way, way above most people playing the piano! She is also lucky in the sense that she has full parental support and all the opportunities available, so vital for a prodigious talent like her.

listening to the beauty of the music in all its textural wholeness and then seeing this kid on the piano, her legs almost suspended mid-air because she's too young to sit on bench with feet on the floor, and her fingers dancing on the keyboard, the sweetness of harmony and rhythmical flow taken possession of her, you wonder, am I seeing a human kid or a cherub? This young lady was finalist a couple of years ago of the Chopin Piano International competition, with a remarkable preludes playing. I remember listening this video when I was in the school, having a strong headache, studying the last minutes before of facing an exam. For the moment in which the video was over all that pain was already away, I felt so good, this is really a medicine for the Soul, that manifests the rest in the physical. Bravo Aimi!! ^^

This video is an inspiration. I am currently preparing for the nationals with this piece...and I can only thank Aimi for such a lovely performance that taught me a lot. The piece is quite beautiful itself, and Aimi expresses it gorgeously. I am very much impressed and cannot help playing it over and over again.

why is it that anytime someone does something amazing, somebody else has to come in and say something negative about it? Why don't we stop wishing that we could perform like her, and instead wish her the best?
Easy to memorize when you love it, you're completely absorbed into it, you have the talent, you have the time to put into it, you have parents and even entire musical establishments backing you. A child prodigy is a perfect storm of positive factors, Mozart being the greatest example of all. Tiger Woods is another modern day example.
I listen to classical music when I write, so I searched "concerto" in youtube, clicked on the first pieces that came up, and let it play while I wrote. Imagine my surprise when I alt-tabbed back and discovered it was a very young girl playing.
She is already a true artist. I just hope she receives adequate guidance in terms of concertizing and recording--and that producers don't rip her off financially. She deserves to be paid handsomely for concert appearances. Aimi is a rare gem! Her playing of Chopin and Mozart is beyond belief.

Actually I am a piano performance major, studying under one best composers/pianist in the USA. Who studied under some of the greatest musicians to live in the last 100 years. And that is something he has always stressed to me. "Great pianists must learn to dance, learn to feel the music." And if he had it his way, every pianist he taught would take dance. She just has this feel for music, that leads me to believe that she has atleast some background in dance. Thats all.

I am in contact with people who know her well and I have read much about Aimi. First of all, her parents are not musical and they have not forced her to do anything.
