This young lady was finalist a couple of years ago of the Chopin Piano International competition, with a remarkable preludes playing. I remember listening this video when I was in the school, having a strong headache, studying the last minutes before of facing an exam. For the moment in which the video was over all that pain was already away, I felt so good, this is really a medicine for the Soul, that manifests the rest in the physical. Bravo Aimi!! ^^
This pianist looks to be around 10-12 years old! She enjoys playing it so much. If anyone knows who she is, I'd LOVE to watch and hear more! Just need a name to do a web search :) One of those extraordinarily gifted people with the personal internal passion for that area of unique talent. The beauty of the music goes without saying!
Is this video from 2004 when she is just 9? If you have the videos of the other movements it would be much appreciated, thanks for sharing this little genius's beautiful performance.
This video was filmed in Jan 2006 at her age of 10 for a TV program. She played only 1st mvt then, and later played all three mvts in Dec 2006 in Moscow - /watch?v=50CJTm2tLuQ
In music so beautiful, my heart is filled with joy and wonder… This is what makes me want to live my life a million more years… A big THANK YOU to the young pianist, Aimi Kobayashi !!!
Is this for real, already at that age? She has 'developed two brains' one for each hand (seemingly), as her later playing of some improvised Mozart pieces manifests, and like the later way of improvising the Bumble Bee piece also shows. Imagine that.
I Think it's a disgrace that his amazing child is not CREDITED I would dearly love to know WHO she is, and also how old was she when playing this concerto also The orchestra AND conductor!!!
So many stupid, irrelevant and racist comments by the lower half of humanity. Too bad so many are unable to recognize and enjoy this incredible super talent. She is not just one in a million but many billions - the pride and national treasure of Japan and a gift to planet earth.
All her and her parents' encouragements have paid off. At 12, I was pretty good on the piano, but had to stop because of financial reasons. I wish I continued.
I can't believe the idiots who make comments here that are totally irrelevant to Aimi's performance. Why talk about Mozart or Asians? Either you admire Aimi's performance or you don't. Also, I know it's common for people to conclude that if a child is a brilliant musician, it must be that he or she is being pushed hard by parents. Neither of Aimi's parents are musical. They are just as amazed as the rest of her fans. By the way, Aimi dislikes practicing; does very little except before a concert.

Amazing video. She is not of this planet. I wonder where is the rest of this video? It is certainly not an amateur video, so maybe it is filmed by a tv station or something like that.
I don't care if Mozart has been better at that age. I do know if love this performance and don't feel like comparing. She's great. I know what I'm talking about being a musician myself.
One in a million will hit any stage. It is a fare comparison music and games. I would say in a reach for cash playing computer games or music have a bout the same chance, very, very slim. So it gets back to basics, enjoyment. Personally I think music is more life for filling and spans ages, cultures etc. But hey I wouldn't beat my kid of any one to attempt a personal dream or publicity.
No, I have not seen the interviews, but I say it as it is. You don't think she is forced to act as she loves the music she's playing? If not, very well. But many asians get pushed way too hard by their parents; they expect too much of their kids. I do not think it's healthy, and after some time, I think they get exhausted and tired of playing, so they quit.
[I´m not too sure these kids enjoy using 2/3 of the day practising. Just my opinion.] Look at it this way. Who's going to have more regrets at 25, this girl (engaged in slave labor on world concert stages) or the child who enjoyed playing video games 2/3 of the day?

yuk726 , no, this is not taught. Some musicians naturally move together with the music when they play.
... Or it is taught
Mozart will be proud ...
