I just bought the Teton XXL along with the matching mattress that goes with it and it’s the most comfortable I have ever used out of the 5 I have sleep on over the years. The red cam bar makes getting that last corner in the slot much easier, works every time. It’s not light at 27 pounds and the sleeping mat that goes with it is bulky but both together can be carried a good distance to a campsite without any issues. The carrying bag is odd with only two Velcro straps holding it in and it opens from the side but it’s very easy to pack & unpack unlike my Slumberjack XL which can be frustrating. Teton put a lot of thought into the design.
I wonder if these reviewers have actually used many of these products. The tent-cot won best overall. I had the double tent-cot like 15 years ago and it was pretty awful. It weighed a TON. I was in the military back then and decently fit. I could load my own kayak, but I couldn’t move this thing around. It also wouldn’t fit inside my car (toytota Corolla). Another down side is you have no living space or gear storage space anywhere. If it rains. You get to just lie in your cot with you gear on top of you. As far as some of the other cots, the best one I’ve ever used are the canvas and aluminum ones like they use in the military. They pack small, keep you up off the frame bars, and you don’t need a sleeping pad with them. They’re pretty comfortable and allow for plenty of room underneath to store your gear and keep the floor space clear. Some of the ones they have on their list that fold out like a camp chair with all the jointed legs are bad too. The ones I have had were too low to the ground so I could stow my gear under them and I could feel bars in my back. Stick with the army field cot. It’s like trying to improve the light switch. They keep trying but it’s about as good as it gets.
That design is definitely the best, no crossbar and it has a slight cradling effect like a hammock, breaks down small. eBay has some used ones in “good” condition for around $60, exact same as the ones I used in the military decades ago. I needed a cot that would fit both me and my fiancé so got the Teton XXL and it’s the same exact type as the USGI but the size of a twin XL mattress.
One major flap in this vid. You fail to mention the width of each cot. MAJOR concern for comfort, and whether your sleeping bag fits. Presenter who fail to mention the cot's length, width, and weight are totally worthless!!!!!

We own #9 and 10. If you need bunks the disc o bed is great but I prefer the comfort of the Coleman.
