I’m a huge fan of the fact that before Connor becomes a deviant, his voice is controlled, and calm. However, as his Software Instability rises, you can hear his voice become more unsure, and human. Eventually, he becomes indistinguishable from a human.
Especially when he starts yelling at Hank after not shooting Kamski’s android (though he also sounds a bit “mad” if the confrontation is Hank arguing with you if you shot her).
Fun fact: When Hank takes the coin from Connor during the broadcast station investigation, you can actually catch him trying to replicate the coin flips Connor does.
connor and hank's story is easily the best arc of this game. also the work that went into this video is awesome. most people probably don't realize the amount of time it took to make this. thanks mr "afguideshd"
I think to make it easier on himself AFGuidesHD killed off Kara, Alice and Markus early on in this playthrough, hence why they're nowhere to be seen and North runs the revolution. Doesn't change anything about Connor's story though from what I can tell. Unless there's some way you can go through individual chapters while retaining your friendship status with Hank, but I have no idea how that works if you've beaten the game once already.

That's incorrect in every way... Markus' chapters take up a huge part of the story, without it, not much of the entire game would make sense. As it wouldn't without Connor's. (And unpopular opinion but I liked Kara's story better-)
I think Kara and Connor both have a special place in my heart after finishing my first playthrough of the game. I think MARKUS could have been improved upon by quite a bit though? most of his screen time was just the team on missions and stuff, which was fine, but it didn't expand on his character at all?? The way things turn out with him are also...eh...it all feels weird. The whole thing with North too, it felt so sudden for me??? like WHAT, LOVER?? WHY?? My favorite moments for him were where he's with Carl lmao, and those are scarce, just at the beginning and at the end. Very sad fr.
2:06:33 The animation in this cutscene is phenomenal. If you pay attention you'll notice that the fake Connor doesn't "physically emote" much. Even when he's trying to convince Hank he's the real Connor his body language says "I'm the robot."; until he's put under pressure he doesn't move around or even break his sight on Hank. Same thing with his facial expression; stoic until he's pressured. Robotic until there was a sign that things weren't going his way. Comapre to the real, more human Connor: during the confusion between the two Connors, he was constantly looking back and forth between the other Connor and Hank trying to figure out a way out of this, and when he spoke he was (kinda) shuffling back and forth in place trying to maintain his composure. Also when he was answering Hank about his dog's name, look at how Connor physically emotes when answering; he's physically emoting with his whole body. His facial expressions also show that he's under pressure as well. And when he answers about Hank's son, you see the mellow- but still serious- expression on his face. Absolutely love all the small things like that.

Hank and Connor were easily the best characters in Detroit: Become Human. They have the best development, their buddy cop dynamic is so engrossing to me, and I love how they can blossom into a father-son type of pairing depending on the choices you make. Hell, this is probably the only relationship in the entire game that includes a human and an android loving each other as family (apart from Markus/Carl but they didn't really go anywhere due to Carl either dying or disappearing from the plot entirely).
I liked Kara as well but Connor's storyline is the best not just cause of what you said but also because it deals with the more interesting concepts brought up in this game and deals much much less with the questionable slavery allegory imo
During the interrogation scene, if you do intervene when the deviant is bashing his head on the table, you'll get an awesome scene where Gavin pulls a gun on Connor but then Hank pulls a gun on Gavin. It's one of my favorite parts

Is free will worth all of the responsibility, discomfort, fear, and self-awareness that comes with it? That is the question.
Free will allowed you to ask that question. So. . . .That's up to you to decided. You could always give up your free will and see how it feels to just be an obedient tool.
The first playthrough I watched of this game I kind of wanted Connor to shoot Chloe. Like, i didn't, but I did. :) Idk. It felt like a weird urge to "shield" him.

I didn't get father-son vibes at all. Now Markus with his owner was father and son vibes. Markus's owner gave him advice, acted caring towards him like a parent would. Hank doesn't do that with Connor at all.

High stress causes android malfunctions which leads to self-destructive tendencies, which is information Connor provides before the interrogation. Using stress-inducing interrogation techniques causes the imprisoned android to develop self-destructive tendencies and act upon them. tl;dr bullying androids gives them depression
Exactly, the game even tells you before hand, "Reach Optimal Stress for a confession" then gives you a margin. I keep watching playthroughs of people botching this scene because can't do the stress right!

The first playthrough I watched of this game I kind of wanted Connor to shoot Chloe. Like, i didn't, but I did. :) Idk. It felt like a weird urge to "shield" him.
