I've studied a number of languages, a couple of which I know pretty well. Greek is one I don't know too well but it is irresistible. I feel both physical and intellectual pleasure when I hear it or try to speak. It's inexplicable! And it doesn't hurt that Dimitris is a great speaker

I actually can't wait to go back to Greece after lockdown here in Australia. Greek people have go to be a very strong and prided culture of people. Direct and down to earth no bullshit aside. They tell you what they think, they are happy to help you, they are hospitable, they do not care who you are, you are always welcome. The children of most Greek people are mature and respectful of elderly people, help their neighbors like no tomorrow. The Greeks are also very intelligent, I mean the foundations of mathematics and science comes from there.They are all about family and helping each other. Thats why even though they had an economic crisis, they survive, because they know how! I love the Greeks they are by far my favourite people and I have visited over 80 countries.

I think glenti is also Turkish, by the way. It seems to come from the word "eğlenti". What does it mean in Turkish? Also, "tzertzeles", which means noisy commotion (usually joyous). Do you recognize "zerzele"? Does it mean "earthquake"?
@@EasyGreekVideos Oh "glenti - eğlenti" relation really surprised me! Word "eğlen-" means "have fun" (order form). But rather than "eğlenti", we say "eğlence" to express "fun, entertainment". Eğlenti also seems true but a bit odd, I checked and found that it is used to express the entertainments with music and drinks, but I'm not sure if this word is common today, apparently it evolved to "eğlence". And yes, word "zelzele", which is Arabic originated, means "earthquake", however it is completely old today, we use the word "deprem". But I'm sure my grandfather would say "zelzele". 😂

Could you do one about negative terms / complaining as had that a few situations like taxi driver deliberately going wrong way, waiter brings you wrong food, or when they speak English to you despite you trying to speak Greek. One thing if it’s possible is to add the English phonetic translations to the translations (you started doing it in recent episodes) but maybe could for the older ones as it’s such a huge help! Thanks again!
Once in '90es in Crete a waiter say to my husband asking for a drink at the bar "ti thelis re pusty?" but I have understood the bad word and told it to my man, my husband became angry and the waiter became then white and excused many times. Other bad words did other young greeks with some foreigners girls because of they were sure they did not understand. It is more than 20 years i couldn't unfortunately come again in Greece, i hope the things have changed now about these not very kind situations

Especially in tourism a lot of them have graduated from tourism schools. Hope you can return back some day and change your mind about greek hospitality.

Interesting! You are right about losing sense of hospitality due to large number of tourists and greed! I think it’s the same situation all over the world. Even i feel as an Indian, we have lost that sense of hospitality and hosting strangers or offering guests food and drinks. In the old days we would be excited having strangers or guests in our house but now we question ourselves whether we should host or not due to lack of time or interest.

Interesting, in Portuguese we also say "dar uma volta" ("to give" a volta") with the same meaning of stroll or walk, or drive or ride around outside.
