Awesome job! She looks brand new! Thank you for saving another 2nd gen! It’s cool to watch your progress on these trucks and makes me want to do the same to my two dodges Add trim
next time do a light dusting with a black spray bomb. they sell a powder to do it with but you can get the same effect with the spray bomb. then wet sand it off. itll help show any dents missed and help sand out any orange peel; looks good, nice job
Super cool! Nice job man 👍🏻 I’m either or on the molding. It’s a smooth look with it but I also like the molding because it gives it more of the OG look to it that I like.
I have a 96 12 V 3500 dually that I did like you and tore it apart and painted it. I didn't put the trim back on and it really looks clean without it... Great job on the truck!
Looking beautiful Sam I keep the side molding off it looks great like. Just remember to park away from the crowds. I know easier said than done. Keep up the great work and stay safe out there.
I personally would not use POR15. I used it on my 99 frame and I was not super impressed. On my other trucks I just use flat or gloss black rattle can on the frames and touch them up every couple of years easier and cheaper in my opinion at least. Also absolutely love the channel!
I vote no molding. My concern with not painting the new bed would be that it will look like 2 different shades of red since it’ll be brand new paint vs older paint. Definitely white letter out!
I would return it to stock with the door moulding. I had a 96 reg cab short bed years back, it had a 5 speed manual, the local powder coater has it now, he won't sell it back to me. I should just make him in offer.
@@VBELTandSONsounds good also I think you should put the trim and stuff back on to give it that og 96 look you shouldn’t have rust again as long as there are no dents or damage under them also will help with when you are Parked in parking lots like you said.
That truck looks like a mirror! I'd say no molding on the truck. I took the moldings off both my Silverados and my ram. So much cleaner in my opinion. What's your thoughts on cab lights? I know drilling into a clean truck is a sin to some but they look awesome with cab lights. Maybe not this truck just curious in general. I bit the bullet and added the OEM lights to my 4th gen and it looks so much better. 5 years later still no leaks or condensation inside the lenses.
all that pitting when u used the spot welder to pull dents there wass a shit ton of pitting above where you werent working cut that out completely and that body panel glue is unbelievable u should try it it seals behind it in front of it whole 9 yards
@@swolenation8432 i fixed all of that. I’m not to worried about it. Wasn’t to deep. Wire wheel then sanded it. Gave it an acid bath with rust converter to be sure.
You ever check out All Dodge Truck Wreckers in Rancho Cordova, opinions? They ran my 06 I just bought, and, yes it should’ve come with a G56. But someone swapped in an NV5600 and the factory exhaust brake disappeared with the 5” exhaust turbo back.
I man, how could I send you pictures of my first Dodge? Two of my friends have always tried to talk me into getting one and then watching your videos made me get mine. It is at 08 6.7
I vote no molding. Seems like you're just begging for more rust if you do. You could always put bed liner along the rocker panels to protect against rock chips. That extra red paint mixed into a bed liner?
Awesome job Sam!! My vote, no molding. Show as much of that beautiful red as possible!! Very very nice!! 8) Peace --gary
I agree with this!

An hour with the kid on the project is worth more than anything.
looks absolutely great bud!! No molding. Excited for the next video.
I like the door molding look.
Great job. I like watching your videos. Keep the trim off, it looks awesome.
Looks clean without the molding 👍🏻
No molding, that rig is way too beautiful with that new paint. Nice job with the body work and paint work.
So fresh and so clean
Looks good don't
forget the b&w gooseneck hitch.
Looks awesome! I kinda prefer the molding on the sides just for the door ding protection.

Looking great man! what a rewarding experience being able to bring your first rig back to life!

Great work. Can’t believe you used the kids play house to paint in. 😂
no sam you will spoil it if you do put trim back on it,you have done a fantastic job
That red is beautiful
I vote no molding. My concern with not painting the new bed would be that it will look like 2 different shades of red since it’ll be brand new paint vs older paint. Definitely white letter out!
Good job brother! No molding looks better
Heck yeah brother 👍🏻🇺🇸
Order a steel cowl hood and paint it would really set off the red in my opinion
One vote for the molding from WV
Looks badass

Yes to door molding.
Looks sweeet!!!! Keep it up!!
I go for that molding save the door
Are you gonna repaint or wrap the b pillar on the passenger and driver door red like they were on the other doors?
@@masonseward34 gonna keep the black on the pillar. Most likely re rap that black

If you do put the trim back on paint match them dont leave them textured black

@@BuckInchuteranch1 they want a lot for their parts double what normal guy asks for stuff :/
@ ok, I’ve only bought an upper dash panel from them once I found them. Another great video.
Awesome
Looking awesome! No to the chrome pieces looks too good red.
Yeah that chrome is never coming back
No molding. Looks way cleaner without it.
No door molding is my vote
Sam did you use single stage paint?
Yes
❤❤❤❤
I man, how could I send you pictures of my first Dodge? Two of my friends have always tried to talk me into getting one and then watching your videos made me get mine. It is at 08 6.7
Thats a sweet year . I hope its manual
So you sat back and supervised your son?😂😂😂

No molding
pitting will just.poke through in months
Pitting was removed
