I can’t thank you enough for turning me on to Tanogist self tan!! Oh my gosh! I have tried so many self tanners and they always looked fake! I’m 72-years -old and have Lupus, so I cannot be in the sun much. My daughter saw me today and said, “boy, you must be outside a lot now, your tan is beautiful “!! My daughter, like her mother, tells it like it is and will point out flaws in the self tanners!! It has been amazing and by following your instructions for problem areas it turns out perfect!! I use the medium and get a very dark tan! Maybe it’s the old skin, but I couldn’t go much darker! The lotions and creams make a huge difference! Thank you, thank you!!💕❤️💋. You are my hero! Stay safe! ❤️
i guess im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the password. I love any assistance you can offer me!
Honestly, I started self-tanning last year and had no idea where to start and this video saved my life!!! My tan looks so good, no orange fingers or toes, it lasts about 2-3 weeks and looks amazing. I use the coco and eve mousse and I love it. Thank you so much❤
I always appreciate how thorough and descriptive you are! Every time I think I may have a question- you always end up answering it later on the video! I found you from tik tok awhile ago & your tips & tricks have saved my life!! Sooo love you & your content! thanks for all you do! ☺️🤗🥰
What do you do for your face? Mineral oil in your lotion will also break down a tan. The tanning salon I used to go to told me that. Yours seems great! I’ll be trying it. 😃
Soooooo helpful to a newbie to self tanner. I’m over the Jergens gradual tan and want to graduate. I never would have thought to start with legs and do arms last so that was super helpful. Thx 😘
Great Video. For those who have dark or reddish marks or scar on face or body, self tanner darkens those areas as you know. I use a thicker concealer (I use Sephora brand in a little tube think it’s discontinued) but, any thicker concealer will work, I dab on those areas with a q-tip or fingers before self tanning. It works great. 🌼
Can you elaborate on how you layer your tan? Like do you immediately start the whole application from toe to top as soon as you finish the first application or do you wait like 30 and then apply again? Do you layer hands and feet? Do you do the second layer before or after doing lotion and hands and feet? Does this differ depending on the brand of tanner you use? Sorry I haven’t found anyone else that talks about doing two layers and I’ve been wanting to but I’m scared looking like a whole ass Cheeto
Me: watches the entire 26 minutes and 34 seconds of this video all about self tanning. Also me: has never and probably will never self tan because I’m too lazy
So extremely helpful. I am just as pail, avoid all sun first because I suffer from Lupus, and other health issues that literally make me ill, and even a little sun can blister my skin. It's very painful. I had almost givin up on having that lovely tan that makes you look healthy and feel good until I came upon your self tanner showdown, that got me re-interested and binge watched your tanning videos all day. Thank you. It was all helpful and I will definately use a few of your links for the products I'm interested in trying.💜
A salicylic acid body wash would also work really well as an exfoliation prep step. Could combine it with the physical exfoliation glove or wash cloth as long as you're gentle for a maximum exfoliation
Thank you for this video! There are so many different videos on how to apply self tanner and this ones been the best for me. My tan now looks amazing. Your feet, hands, knees and elbow tips worked out perfect for me. Thank you for these videos!! I'm a huge fan of your hair vids 😊
Abby can you make the application method itself into a short format? I pull this video up every time I tan (super infrequently) and a short version would be a godsend! Thank you!
I am currently getting into self tanning. I am SOOOO pale!!! In order for me to get a tan I have to burn and then after it turns into a tan. I really didn't know too much about anything I could do, but lately I've been exploring and I have become very interested in self tanning. It seems like the benefits are super great! I just watched your comparison video and it's so great that you have tested them all for us. I am very curious on if you continue your self tan throughout the winter months or is it just something you do during the summer. Also do you put self tanner on your face?? Do they make separate stuff for that?
I have some pigment spots on the sides of my face. Tanner makes them darker, obviously. What I do is take a Q-tip, dip it into makeup remover ( or toner) and put it, VERY carefully!, on those spots. It works well, but you have to just get it on the spots not the skin around them.
Ah yes! I needed this! I am planning on maintaining a self tan routine and am always worried about when to use a body scrub to avoid getting obvious patches of pale skin and tanned skin.
Hi! I just wanted to say I love your videos, I used self Tanner for the first time and your tips and tricks really help! I used tanologist it worked amazingly. I have a question I was hoping you could help me with. I know it last about a week. I was wondering if I can reapply before it completely fades? Will this work, or will come out patchy? Thank you for all the helpful content 😊
Great video! I know Bondi Sands express tan mentions to only use water (no soap) and pat dry after rinsing the express tan after only a few hours. I think this makes a big difference. The tan still develops. Typically, I leave it on 8 plus hours but in a pinch....I’ll leave the express on for a couple hours and only rinse with water until later that night where I use soap. 😀
I just tried tanologist for the first time, I’ve tried the ulta and Jergans and I HATED the smell so much I scrubbed it off immediately. This Tanologist water mist is a must have. I don’t think I can live without it now.
I heard that you should exfoliate and shave a few days before putting on self tanner because the skin regenerates right after exfoliating/shaving so the tan will fade faster. That's why you should wait a few days before you apply the self tanner. Is that true? Has someone tried that? Any advice?
I use the exact same product because of your video...thanks so much Im new to self tanner and I found your videos before I started n u saved my life...thanks again
I’m ordering all of this but how do you tan your face and have that face tan? I saw in another video that you do not self tan your face so please help me. How do you apply your makeup to match up everything?
I've started using tanologist after watching your videos a few weeks ago and am way happier with it than the professional tan place I was going to! How often do you totally remove the tan and start from scratch?
Hi Abbey I just absolutely love your channel and all your content you have taught me so much and I'm 57yrs old but the amount of research and knowledge you have regarding so many products is amazing. Thank you for your hard work btw I don't think you wear to much make up I love it you look beautiful.💖
Thanks for the video, super helpful. I would love to see a video about how to do soft curls. You know those little kinda verticals rings that are popular now? I feel like they can be worn all the way around the head, or they can just start halfway down and kinda look more effortless depending on what look you’re going for. I’ve seen you have your hair like that in one of your other videos, I think it was the one that led me to this video where you reviewed Coco&Eve
So you apply the lotion AFTER application, not before? I’ve always done it the other way (lotion first) PS, what eyeshadow are you wearing?! I LOVE it! 😍
I also saw your video reviewing Coco & Eve self tanning mousse. Which do you prefer? Coco & Eve or Tanologist? I currently use a brand with no color guide so I'm familiar with both. I would like to switch brands and I'm trying to decide which brand to purchase out of the two.
Loved your video! I used to do tan beds-I probably for way too many years and I thought I would try self tan although I’m so busy and barley have enough time. I got coco and eve! I was told tanologist and a couple others you stated! I was wondering when you said you sometimes do two layers…how long do you wait for apply for the second layer? Thank you!! 🤗🤗
Purchased the tanologist product based on your recs. I am going to Mexico next month and don't want to be pale so will be practicing. Question, because I am pale and don't want to burn I will be using a sunscreen. Do you find that they rub off your tanner? Do you have a recommendation for a sun screen? Thanks. Love your videos, they are super helpful.
Sunscreen and self tan don't mix well. Neither does chlorine or salt water. I would look for an oil free sunscreen that has low alcohol content and try to stay out of any water untill you develop a little natural tan. Then you won't have to worry about it.
i realize this is like one year old... but I was laughing pretty much the entire video. You remind me totally of one of my daughters and we laugh all the time. You are HILARIOUS! Thanks ~ good ifo too! Really helped me before the Maldives on a special trip coming up.
ik its late lol but in case u still need to know, what i do if ive missed a spot is take a beauty blender or foundation brush and lightly tap and blend ur tanning product on just that area and buff it out to blend with whats already activated ! :)
Such a helpful video thanks girl! Quick follow up questions! 1. Do you think the aveeno standard moisturizer is ok to use for hand barrier before applying tan to hands? 2. What are your thoughts on using the bondi sands gradual tanning milk to maintain a different brand’s tan? I.e bondi sands? Do you think that will mess with the color or do anything harmful? Lastly, just to be clear, if using a tan with color guard you would recommend taking a makeup wipe to hands and taking off 30 minutes after application? Do you also have to be very careful about touching water/washing hands for rest of time after that’?
Really need these tips. Was avid tanner. Now dealing with per cancerous issues. Will definitely try your tips. Can I ask, between the exfoliation. Do u use a luffa in shower between? Or will that take the color off faster? Thanks
I also buy mens razor's.. For some reason women's are more expensive. It's ridiculous. They get sharper blades and more of them And more razor's in total in a bundle pack then women. I guess " pink plastic costs more"🙄
I use a self tanner for the face my favorite is St Tropez water tanner specifically for your face. Just make sure that any products that you apply before or after are oil free. Then just mist the self tanner on your face and neck you only need about 5 sprays to cover your face. It is a super fine mist and actually smells amazing you can apply makeup on top of it. However I feel I get the best tan if I do it before bed. After misting my face and neck and usually decollete I take my hair dryer put it on cold setting and dry it real quick if I want to be darker I do a second application about 15 minutes later.
I want to love Tanologist bc I prefer a clear self tanner, but it does not dry down at all on me. I did two layers and maybe that is it. How do you get it to dry on you?
I picked up the tanner and the lotion, and the shaving cream yesterday at Target. I am in love with it all! Thank you for your suggestions. I would love to private message you about my skin, and my journey if thats something you would be okay with.
instead of a mitt I use vinyl gloves. like the medical ones. I like to better because it doesn't absorb any product, protects the hands well, and you get more easily get the product where you want
Take a makeup wipe or a cotton pad with micellar water on it and wipe over your nails and cuticles. Or I scrub my hands with a coffee or sugar scrub and do my nails as well. if I do the scrub then I just take my tanning mitt that has leftover tanner on it and carefully go over the backs of my hands making sure to avoid my nails.
New to self tanning land. Soooo...what happens after a week of workouts? How does it last 6 days showering daily? Also how do you sit and not create creases or rubbed off spots during the 6 hour setting in phase?
How do you address armpits? I workout 6 days a week and tend to sweat a lot. Arm pits, in between breasts, and inner elbow creases are the first to go. Advice?
I've noticed what helps me with this is to put the shower water to cold for 15 seconds and let it run all over my body. It may suck how cold it is but it closes your pores. It doesn't make it completely go away but it helps drastically. Tip to help with the cold water, slowly make it colder so it's not as big of a shock
If you shave your legs soon before putting on self tanner, that can cause those little dots. I think the recommendation is to shave 12 to 24 hours at least before applying any self tanner
I also do the cold water in the shower and using a water tanner definitely helps. Also make sure you are moisturizing constantly after you apply the tanner at least once a day twice if you can.
Can you try the tanlux mousse? I want to see what you think about it! It’s what I’m using now and it’s also a clear mousse. It’s expensive so I wanna see if this is a dupe for that!
I've heard that if you self tan after shaving and exfoliating your legs you will see freckle spots from the tanner setting in pores. Doesn't that happen to you?
Just wondering if you have tried any of the self tanner back applicator mitts or pads, my daughter does self tan and always always has me do her back so I wonder if I should buy her one of these?
So after I shower and apply the tanner I shouldn’t put on moisturizer? I put on the moisturizer after I shower a 2nd time where I just body wash (after the 4-6 hour mark) ?
I can’t thank you enough for turning me on to Tanogist self tan!! Oh my gosh! I have tried so many self tanners and they always looked fake! i guess im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account??
I somehow forgot the password. I love any assistance you can offer me!
Love that you talk intelligently throughout and don’t have annoying music while you show application. Your vids are awesome!
What do you do for your face application? The same product or use something else ?
Honestly, I started self-tanning last year and had no idea where to start and this video saved my life!!! My tan looks so good, no orange fingers or toes, it lasts about 2-3 weeks and looks amazing. I use the coco and eve mousse and I love it. Thank you so much❤

Bought and used Tanologist based on your recommendation and loved it! As a self tan failure this video and your recommendations have converted me!

love these vids esp. cause you don't HAVE to watch, you can just listen and sometimes I like just listening while working

I always take a dry rag to the knuckle areas, knees, elbows...etc..... works great!!
Me: watches the entire 26 minutes and 34 seconds of this video all about self tanning.
Also me: has never and probably will never self tan because I’m too lazy
Emily Robinson literally me lol
😂😂😂 I feel that laziness in my soul
Me too and just watching the whole back application made my arms and back cry lol!
Me too. Haha! I just love the indepth instruction, just in case....
Haha! Me too!!

Thanks for this demo. Was really helpful.I just used Tanologist mousse. First time I am self tanning! 😅🙏

When you do your back why don’t you use the coco and eve back applicator? Do you recommend if your arms are short
This is super helpful! Which body gel do you use in the shower before tanning?
Have you seen the back self tanner applicators? Wonder how they work. I saw them on Amazon
Do you tan your neck, face and behind ears too? With the tanologist products
So you apply the lotion AFTER application, not before? I’ve always done it the other way (lotion first)
PS, what eyeshadow are you wearing?! I LOVE it! 😍
Hi, do you recommend tanning whilst I have gel nails already done? Please reply, thanks in advance 😊
Thank you for all your work, much appreciated!

Coco and Eve is AMAZING.

Since there are no color guard is there a higher chance of having streaks if we missed a spot or unevenly applied?
Loving all of your self tan videos! So helpful and informative. But what about sunscreen? Will it mess with the tan?
Do you apply self tanner to your armpits and how much? Do you treat it like hands/elbows/feet etc with a very light touch?
Can we have an updated self tan routine? Ty!
Absolutely love your reviews! So very informative!! Have you tried the tanoligist extra dark with the colors guard in it yet?
It looks amazing. I bought it too but should have watched this video first lol. Do you use on your face at all? 🌺
i love ur content so much. thanks for going through everything
What about your face? Do you use the tinted drops?

I LOVE your channel and appreciate your videos SO MUCH!!! THANK YOU!!! You are my favorite!!!
Is there a recommendation for if I noticed I missed an area ? Can I carefully do that area the next day ??
Would love to know as well!!
ik its late lol but in case u still need to know, what i do if ive missed a spot is take a beauty blender or foundation brush and lightly tap and blend ur tanning product on just that area and buff it out to blend with whats already activated ! :)
@@moonlightagb8268 thank you so much for responding! Very helpful
Such a helpful video thanks girl! Quick follow up questions! 1. Do you think the aveeno standard moisturizer is ok to use for hand barrier before applying tan to hands? 2. Really need these tips. Was avid tanner. Now dealing with per cancerous issues. Will definitely try your tips. Can I ask, between the exfoliation. Do u use a luffa in shower between? Or will that take the color off faster? Thanks
Going thru all your tips to get the perfect summer glow❤
What body wash works best? I use the same self tanner and I’ve noticed certain body washes take it off sooner.
I cannot tell you how much I laughed when you talked about doing your back. My husband gets the same look from me when I can’t reach Lol
Excellent information and well done, thanks much!
I’m sorry if it’s a stupid question but do you dry exfoliate? I always thought I need to do it in the shower… Dry sounds so much easier!
Venus razors aren’t enough for me. I switched to men’s 5-blade razors years and GAME CHANGER!
I also buy mens razor's.. For some reason women's are more expensive. It's ridiculous. They get sharper blades and more of them And more razor's in total in a bundle pack then women. I guess " pink plastic costs more"🙄
Hey! What kind of shower gel do you use?
I'm just now looking into self tanning, because I'm trying to get away from the tanning bed 🙈 Do you do anything to your face?
So informative and thorough! Thank you so much!
i love the way you talk sm your videos are so goodddd :)
I picked up the tanner and the lotion, and the shaving cream yesterday at Target. I am in love with it all! Thank you for your suggestions. I would love to private message you about my skin, and my journey if thats something you would be okay with.
So do you use a tanner on your face? What do we do
Have you tried the Harry razors? Those are amazing!
Do you use a shower gel when exfoliating with the glove or just water?
Is it ok to put on your face?
do you have any recommendations for not getting your nails dirty when tanning? i love doing light colors and they always get dingy when i tan
instead of a mitt I use vinyl gloves. like the medical ones.
Everyone’s skin is diff but for me it’s not an issue! It lasts great for a week but after that it needs to come off
How do you address armpits? I workout 6 days a week and tend to sweat a lot. Arm pits, in between breasts, and inner elbow creases are the first to go. Advice?
do you not apply to your face too?
What do you do for your face
How long after applying can I sit down will it spread to my couch
How do you prevent the little darker dots where your hair follicle is? (I get this on my legs from self tanner)
I’d love an answer to this too! It’s why don’t use self tan
Have you ever tried epilating? It’s the best!
If I want to be darker, can I reapply 2 days in a row or would that make the tan look weird?
Can you try the tanlux mousse? I want to see what you think about it! It’s what I’m using now and it’s also a clear mousse. It’s expensive so I wanna see if this is a dupe for that!
I’ll look into it!
I've tried both and I have to admit I keep buying the tan lux its hard to beat.
I tried the one from loving tan and didn't like it! It was tricky for me to use
Do you self tan your face too?
So after I shower and apply the tanner I shouldn’t put on moisturizer? I put on the moisturizer after I shower a 2nd time where I just body wash (after the 4-6 hour mark) ?
No! Moisturizer after you rinse off the self tan
What about tanning your face? Or do you skip this step?
Best razor in the world! I use rubber medical gloves inside the tanning glove.
