Hear me out…how about a showdown of the winners/faves from your 4 videos? 😁😁😁 Say you’ve lost all your self tanners and can only buy one…which one are you buying? 🧐
Love this! The Peta Jane was created by a Dancing with the Stars pro named Peta Murgatroyd! Those pros wear so much self-tanner for the show, I kept thinking that she would naturally have to create a great product! Knowing you approve too moves it right into my cart!
I tan pretty much weekly- b tan is cheap and convenient to pick up at the Walmart down the street so that’s my go to. Can’t justify spending a ton of money on tan when I go through it quickly although I’m sure the luxury ones are great!
The tanner I've seen get a lot of viral hype is "Illusion Bronze" which is a "customizable" tanner based on your features. I think you could do a solo video all about that one itself. It seems so interesting 🤔
B tan has wayyyy better ones than the one you chose. For $10, it's the best self tanner line ever. I've tried every one they have made... & I can rinse it off (just rinse no soap- that's what they mean when they say u can rinse after and hour - it just helps get the sticky feeling off but still keeps developing) after an hour or 2 and still develop a deep tan.. my favorite one by BTAN is called "too tan to give a dam*" but I have naturally tan skin (not dark, and olive undertones) so I don't need the self tan to do a ton.. I just like it for some color esp during the winter when I'm at my lightest
THIS! I love their “b tan for ever and ever” just because it lasts so long. Have used several others from b tan and they are all great. Before that I used Tanwise and it worked well but, I could only get it from Sally’s Beauty supply and they recommend a far longer time to wear if before showering off the ‘guide’ With any tan you have to exfoliate and moisturize! The prep work and making sure the application is buffed in and blended evenly is really where it’s at with any self tanner. B TAN is the GOAT!
Omg this your tan looks gorgeous. I love your hair color too. You’ve done a great job on your look, everything goes well together. I bought Bali 1 hr express tan recently based on your video from a couple of years ago. I love it, easy to apply, goes on smooth, great color.
Abbey, if you’re able to get your hands on the Australian brand Eco Tan, it’s my favourite. I’ve been wearing their HempiTan and Face Tan Water for years AND using tretinoin and other prescriptions on my sensitive, dry, blemish prone skin, and it works great with no irritation!
Try mixing a pump or two of the self tanning mousse with a bit of lotion (rather than applying lotion first as a barrier cream). I do this for application on my hands, feet and elbows. Try it out, it works!
@@AbbeyYung Thanks! Heard it on YT years ago. I mix it together with a cosmetic brush (a fluffy powder brush) and apply a small amount to each of those areas, then blend with the back side of my tanning mitt (the opposite side that I use for the rest of my body). Hope it works for you too! 😀
I soooooo look forward to your videos! This is one of my favorite kinds of reviews. I'm 44 and fair skin/ blonde & super pale without self tanner. I've had skin cancer 4x. So- I avoid the sun at all costs. I've been using self tanner since the 90s and they have come a very long way. My all time favorite tanner is by Mine tan. I literally buy the jumbo bottle that salons use in the pro tan booths. I use an empty self tanner foam pump bottle and apply with a mitt. I use the "coconut water pro spray mist". I lotion my hands, knees, elbows and feet. No second layer needed and lasts 7 days with no weird patchy spots. It's an amazing product with little dry time, not too bad of a smell... Still a self tan smell but not as bad as others. If you are in the market please try this one. After 20+ of years experience I feel like I have a good handle on what's good. Just remember to moisturize during the duration of wear. The bottle states 1 hour express. I found that I don't get the color payoff that I was looking for. I wear it overnight and shower it off in the morning. I use Olay niacinamide body wash and it does not at all dry my skin out and strip my skin.
I’m in the same boat as you and interested in trying this self tanner! So it’s a liquid that you put in a foam dispenser? Do you find it clings to age spots? I feel like some self tanners do more than others and it’s a toss up between being super pale or having my age spots look even darker unfortunately.
B tan tanned af is the ONLY one I will use. But it’s not express for me, you’ve got to put it on for 8 hours and it’s really good if you use a second layer
Please do a showdown of all your favorites from your videos so far. Would be easy since you already tried them, and would give us an up to date favorite. Thanks for all your hard work 😂❤
I’ve always loved airbrush tans the most so I just invested in a cordless at home model from Amazon. Since you are without a doubt the self tan QUEEN of TH-cam, I was wondering if you’d ever consider trying this method and sharing your thoughts? There is definitely a learning curve in applying but I think with practice it can be mastered. As with any method, I think it’s mainly going to come down to formula. I’m on the hunt for the best tanning liquid to use with this device. I tried norvell first but it was surprisingly orange for a violet based formula. Anyway thanks for all your amazing and well thought out content! I appreciate you so much.
Yeeees I have been waiting for you to review the new bondi sands technicolor! We missed you! Also, I would love to see like your top most used, or favorite, self tans since you have reviewed so so many.
I found your channel because of your self tanning and tinted sunscreen videos. You are the queen of self tanning for me. Thank you so much for your dedication and recommendations. I look forward to them and listen to them and buy them every year❤🎉😂
I love watching your videos on your self tanners. You do so much research and it's helped me saved a lot of money. Personally, I try to go the more "non toxic" route with my tanner and have found my favorite one, surprisingly enough, has been Coco and Eve. As long as I prep correctly, it lasts a week, it's natural looking, easy to apply and no nasties. I get a ton of compliments on it and people think I just came back from the beach. The price point is reasonable too. The only cons in my opinion is the scent. It's a super strong sweet smell. Also, until you rinse it off after it sets, it can transfer to clothing. But it does wash out easily. Would love to hear your thoughts on this one!
This was so informative. I’ve been hunting a red undertone tanner so Tanceuticals could be worth a try. I’m a light olive undertone, orange and even olive tanners end up super orange on me. Red blends more naturally. If there was a true deep beige tanner I’d be so happy, B. Tan with that ‘violet’ base could be the one.
You’re amazing for reviewing all these tanning products! 🙏🏻 could you maybe also do a video on face tanning products and/or your favorite face tanning products?
The Tanceuticals lotion and serum are the best out there. I first discovered it on the selftan review girl here on TH-cam years ago and she tried them allllll. That being said I bought a one liter bottle of the pro spray tan solution. I like the flexibility of being able to customize. So I put it into a continuous spray bottle, I also added to a dropper bottle and add drops to my lotion for a nice gradual tan.
Hi Abby, I’m just curious what is your current go to self tanner? I’ve watched all of your Tanner show downs and I know you pick a winner each round but I am curious which is your favorite out of all the rounds and is that what you are currently using? Thanks for all your hard work.
Thank you for taking so many for the team, we appreciate it. I tried the b.tan glow your own way gel and I’m not impressed. You can’t use a mit/brush and it wore off patchy.
I’m personally tired of tinted mousse. I found a clear gel by b.tan that I love. No transfer and dries down so quickly. My self tan routine is no longer complicated.
I’ve been using the new Bali body one in violet and I actually love it. I have medium tan skin to begin with and I love the color on me. It’s got a beautiful neutral warm tone with a hint of redness that matches my natural tan shade. Lasts really solid and I’m overall a big fan
I love the violets or ash tones. I been using the MineTan. I bought a sample pack of caramel, olive, violet and ash. Being I have strong olive undertones I thought the olive would be for me but nope. I need a cooler tan maybe because I’m cool olive undertones. Idk. I’m just grateful for options in this day and age.
Would you do a quick video on all your (absolute top favorites for self tanners) and do comparison of each with end result pic what each self tanner looks like to compare in video and in video also mention your top most favorite one out of all your fave self tanners that you’ve tried as of right now 2023! Thank you!! Your videos have been so helpful thank youu!! So far I’m looking forward to trying some of your top faves you mentioned the Bali body express and the peta Jane self tanning mousse Not sure about st. Tropez x Ashley graham one yet to me In pics the others looked better especially the peta Jane from pics from what I could tell No orange is so important for me lol with me being more similar to your skin tone and still having color that looks natural and like I’m tanned
Your sunless tanner reviews are my favorite! Since you don’t use self tanner on your face, what foundation brands and shades do you use to match your body? This is my biggest struggle.
I love Tanceuticals! I use the face lotion and tanning foam! I have sensitive skin so the face lotion so burn my skin but when I used Bondi Sands I have an allergic reaction to it. Tanceuticals does transfer to my bed sheets but it comes off in the washer and the tan only lasts like 3 days but other than that I love the color! I do have a pink undertone.
Tanalogist Water remains my most favorite self tanner. I'm a full-time working mom, so my time is very limited. Tanologist Water is always a quick application and then I hop into bed. I don't have to wash it off if I don't want to. I often head straight to the gym when I wake up and work out with the application still on. NEVER any transfer to clothing or sheets. One application of dark lasts me a good 4-5 days before I decide to reapply. My skin tone is like Abbey's.
If you weren’t testing new products for TH-cam what would be your favorite go to self tanner? I agree with you, I strongly dislike the self tanning process! Particularly the smell 🤢 Thanks for the video Abbey!
@@maryv9832 I've watched all of her self tan videos - in some cases more than once! - and I agree, Tanologist drops are easiest (just mix with your lotion) and if you follow her application suggestions, I generally avoid too many mistakes (like orange palms). Oh, also, I have been LOVING the St Tropez bronzing face mist for face refreshes - or sometimes I use that instead of the drops on my face. Hope this helps!
I love that Bali Body one Abbey mentioned, too. I was choosing between two last year, based on her videos, and she recommended that one to me in a comment. I leave it on 5+ hrs too.
The Tanceuticals, Bondi, and B.tan look the most natural I feel like, because of the red tones. Comparing them back to back with the others, you then really see how fake orange/yellowish all the other ones look. The red gives off a well perfused kinda look of the skin which indicates health in my eyes, and also makes sense if you were outside laying in the sun to have a slight red tone in your tan. I also once had a cheaper foam self tanner from amazon (can't remember which one it was) which also gave a really light red tone to my face especially and I really liked it the most on me compared to any other selftanner that I tried after, even though based on my bright green veins all over my body I have warm undertones and tend to be more on the golden side of a skin color. The orange, olive or golden tans give off this faked baked barbie look on all the after pictures. I gotta try the Tanceutical one but it's hard to get for me and quite expensive. I wish there were more self tanners with a red tone in the actual outcome of the tan not just in the color guide that you wash off anyways.
hello :) I have a quick question. Do u prefer bali body or cococ and eve? I use coco and eve and it makes me look soo yellow-greenish. I wanna switch to bali bodi.
I can’t remember ever seeing if you have tested Minetan mousses? It’s an Aussie brand but all their color payoffs are awesome but I’ll warn they all smell like self tanner. Give it a try!
Hey healthy tan seekers! As a SEASONED 😂 self-tanner with fair skin, (I’m talking orange, streaky high-end “fake tan” from ‘96!) I personally LOVE Beauty By Earth lotion. I also really LOVE their “tanning drops” since it’s hypoallergenic and you can mix it with anything so it smells just like whatever you add it to! It’s gradual so perfect for very light skin, you just may need patience or multiple applications. Tks Abby!
I loved this review. Very informative. However, one improvement I would recommend. You mentioned the shades that each brand was available in but there was no way to tell which one you were reviewing. Otherwise, it was a great video and I wish all reviews were as thorough as yours! ❤ Peace ☮️ love ❤ and tan ☀️
I looove your videos !! They are super high quality and you go straight to the point 💙 could you please review Illusion Bronze? They claim they are better since they have a quiz for your needs and your color palette
Wait have you never tried Lux Unfiltered?! It’s the BEST! Can only order online but I loveeee the face drops and the og gradual tanner! She has a more options now too!
Definitely try out B Tan Love at First Tan, it has subtle violet undertones which look really natural on fair skin! (Olive looks really odd on me and I orange is my nemesis) Would love to see your opinion compared to your favorites as it’s my hands down go-to for the price!
Have you heard of illusion bronze? They custom blend self tan to work with your combination of skint one, hair colour and eye colour. They're not ridiculously priced either. I haven't tried them but I'm intrigued! Xx
Hi Abbey I bought the coco & eve after your recommendation last year. And I love it. It’s the best 🤩 i would like to know how you compare it to this Peter one 🤔
Abby the Bondi Sands in Magenta (the darkest color) is awesome!!! it smells much less than the other foams from bondi sands is and I could even REFRESH it a few days later.. I Love it :)
I love a red based tan. I just tried bali body ultra dark express. I got almost no color in 4 hours. I left it overnight the next time and it turned me a dirty grey😭😂 I went over it with loving tan platinum and it's betterish...lol I'm going to try the tanceuticals
I really enjoy the Peta Jane tan, but Bali Body 1 hour express is still my #1! Would love to see you compare the two since I know you were a fan of the Bali Body as well.
I just ordered the Bondi Sands because that undertone is everything. I’m super fair naturally but I tan very easily. Dark self tanner always looks fake on me, so I’m hoping the shade and undertone of the Emerald works.
Love your self tanning videos! Using the Balibody 1 hour express lately and like it but not my fave. Ordered Coco and eve body tanner and ordered their face tanner waiting for that. Love the idea of a showdown of your favorites from all 4 videos. I was wondering if you could suggest what your favorite is “holy grail” “go to”, etc. I have a love-hate relationship with self tanning as well. I love going to get spray tanned, but it is becoming so costly and it’s not really good to breeze in the DHA. Thanks again for your videos. I love them!
Hi Abbey! Which self tanner would you say is your #1 favorite of all times so far? Is it still the tanologist mousse in shade dark? Thank you in advance for your reply 😊😊
I've been liking mine tan but I don't like that it's not available at Ulta or another store. I personally don't like having to go to a specific website to order something lol thats just my preference
Also I dread the day I have to apply self tanner. Exfoliating is fine. But then applying and being all sticky I hate and I procrastinate on hahaha but I do love the compliments I get on having a tan and people always think it’s natural
Hi, I just watched a review on Salty Face Tanner and they say it's fragrance free. Please do a review. I trust your opinion. Some of the other channels seem to be sponsors.
I know my stuff!!! because your last top 2 tanners are my “go to’s” and I have both. I go between them because I can’t decide which one I like most. Thanks for the research and video!
Tanologist tanning water is the only one I've used and I stayed tan for months with that, like it never faded for whatever reason and then I started tanning so if it did "fade" you couldn't tell
Hi Abbey, recently stumbled across faketanning with henna. Heard that it should give u the deepest tan and its not full of those nasty ingredients that most tans have in them. Would love to see u tryin it out, because I am very curious with that one :)
Hi Abbey I don’t usually leave a comment but I watch all of your videos. could you please make a video with tips on how to protect your hair after you went to the pool? I started swimming lessons recently and my hair is struggling!! Sorry for any english mistakes, I’m from Brazil lol. Much love💕🫶🏼
I personally wouldn’t take a break from tret unless you had no issues when first using it, since there’s that initial adjustment period for most (my skin was flaking off the first week 😂) I struggle with this as well but I just supplement with bronzer or do a touch up of self tan on places where I would normally use bronzer… 🤷♀️ I’m almost 40 so no way I’m giving up my anti aging routine for anything! 😂
Got a similar skin tone to u so definitely gonna give your winner a try. As for my daughter. She is half Lebanese and has an olive undertone so knowing about the second one(I think) you reviewed is really helpful. Might pick it up for her to try. Ty very much 😊💙
Wait what tanceuticals was sooo good when I tried it. It has a very similar undertone to loving tan/their red undertone. To each their own I lovveeed it!
@Abbey Yung I just watched Hyram’s new video and around the 6 min mark, he shows how great ur skin transformation 🥰 I was so excited to see and wasn’t sure if you knew!? Thanks for this great video and I love all ur content 💕💕💕💕
I use a cheap one, love b tan and jergens too. Yes it’s smelly, but the price is worth it for me. I make them last longer using jergens wet skin tan lotion.
Love ur self tan reviews!!! I have very similar colouring to you so I can always get a very good idea of what will look good on me. I'm a tanologist dark gal but recently tried the bondi sands magenta even though I was paired with the emerald anything with green undertone makes me look she hulk 😅 so I went with the violet undertone and its a really dark but natural looking colour, I would recommend to anyone with fair/cool undertones, it's definitely darker than the emerald!
And here was one of my issues. Before I started wearing body sunscreen every day (or burst into flames if I don't), my self-tan seemed to last forever. When I use sunscreen, not so much. So it became not worth the hassle 😁💗
This is my Super Bowl
😂
Hahahaha I feel you
Yeeessss! 😂
😂
Girl yes 😂
Hear me out…how about a showdown of the winners/faves from your 4 videos? 😁😁😁
Say you’ve lost all your self tanners and can only buy one…which one are you buying? 🧐

Yes please! Came here to say this!

Yes!
I have the peta on now. Eyyyweeee it’s dark booooy. Love it

I'm still really loving the Bali Body 1 hr express! But I leave it on for 4-5 hours. Tanologist is my go to if I don't want a color guide
@@AbbeyYung awesome! Thanks so much for replying 😊
@@dkb2375 thank you!
I love that Bali Body one Abbey mentioned, too. I was choosing between two last year, based on her videos, and she recommended that one to me in a comment. I leave it on 5+ hrs too.
i'm a medium olive, i'm eyeing the molly mae so thank you!
Order the large bottle from QVC and add it to an old foam pump bottle. I use the blue labeled bottle coconut water pro spray mist. It's SO good!
Peace ☮️ love ❤ and tan ☀️
I was just going through all of your tanning videos thank you so much for doing a 4th one much appreciated
(Olive looks really odd on me and I orange is my nemesis)
Would love to see your opinion compared to your favorites as it’s my hands down go-to for the price!
Thanks Abbey!! Always look forward to these! Is your prep before tanning still the same as you posted a couple years ago?
Have you heard of illusion bronze? They custom blend self tan to work with your combination of skint one, hair colour and eye colour. They're not ridiculously priced either. I haven't tried them but I'm intrigued! Xx
Hi Abbey
I bought the coco & eve after your recommendation last year. And I love it. It’s the best 🤩 i would like to know how you compare it to this Peter one 🤔
So excited to get more recommendations!
I would love for you to review the outer ego self tanner!! 😍😍😍😍 I think it's the newest tanner that's actually.. different. If that makes sense!
Abby the Bondi Sands in Magenta (the darkest color) is awesome!!! it smells much less than the other foams from bondi sands is and I could even REFRESH it a few days later.. I Love it :)
i can’t naturally tan so i have been looking into self tanner so great timing for this video
Love your thoughts on all these! Always look forward to this type of video from you! Is the tanologist mousse dark still one of your go tos?
I love a red based tan. I just tried bali body ultra dark express. I got almost no color in 4 hours. I left it overnight the next time and it turned me a dirty grey😭😂 I went over it with loving tan platinum and it's betterish...lol I'm going to try the tanceuticals
You should try the brand Half Caked! They are for the most part a cosmetics brand but recently came out with a tanning mousse and I’m so interested!
Can you make a video on your all time favorites? 😄
I really enjoy the Peta Jane tan, but Bali Body 1 hour express is still my #1! Would love to see you compare the two since I know you were a fan of the Bali Body as well.
I love peta Jane. Expensive but beautiful color. Been using the medium but time for dark!
I love Coco and Eve self tanner and I'm extremely picky. Hope it works out for you!
Would love to see a review on instant tans that wash off with soap and water!
Hi Abbey! Which self tanner would you say is your #1 favorite of all times so far? Is it still the tanologist mousse in shade dark? Thank you in advance for your reply 😊😊
I didn’t have any problem with the Tanned as AF it worked great on me and didn’t have any smell, but then again they have so many to choose from.
Cute video. My only concern is the elbows as they did seem a bit more orange. Thanks for the info!
When you apply a second layer of tanner, do you wait for it to fully dry the first time or just go in immediately after the first application?? 🧐
What lipgloss are you wearing? It's gorgeous!!
Can you review your top 4 favorites in one video? Could you also do spot tests with all?
Hi Abbey, recently stumbled across faketanning with henna. Heard that it should give u the deepest tan and its not full of those nasty ingredients that most tans have in them. Would love to see u tryin it out, because I am very curious with that one :)
Hi Abbey I don’t usually leave a comment but I watch all of your videos. could you please make a video with tips on how to protect your hair after you went to the pool? I started swimming lessons recently and my hair is struggling!! Sorry for any english mistakes, I’m from Brazil lol.
Much love💕🫶🏼
What is your ultimate top choice out of all your testing?
Hey Abbey! What do you typically do when it comes to self tanner and Tretinoin? Do you take a break from Tretinoin?
I need to know this as well
I personally wouldn’t take a break from tret unless you had no issues when first using it, since there’s that initial adjustment period for most (my skin was flaking off the first week 😂) I struggle with this as well but I just supplement with bronzer or do a touch up of self tan on places where I would normally use bronzer… 🤷♀️ I’m almost 40 so no way I’m giving up my anti aging routine for anything! 😂
I've never had luck with bondi sands. Still love using my bali body ultra dark tan as an express tan! Perfect colour in undertone and depth
Yessss I Love these!!!! Got 2 more to try!! Beauty by Earth clear smells amazing. And Dolce Glow have you tried those?
Would you do a video testing face self tanners?
Can you test gradual tanning lotions next?! Pleaassee
Abbey after testing all these...what is your go to self tanner?
Please do a video on how you self tan but not your face and how you wear your makeup with it and make it look so natural
@Abbey Yung I just watched Hyram’s new video and around the 6 min mark, he shows how great ur skin transformation 🥰
I was so excited to see and wasn’t sure if you knew!?
Thanks for this great video and I love all ur content 💕💕💕💕
Everything you said about being picky is me. I need no orange and no smell. Everything. If I self tan I want to like doing it and the after look
Can you review the tanologist gradual self tan lotions? I literally live by your self tan routine and recommend it to EVERYONE!
I need to try this!
But is this “winner” better than your previous Tanologist fave?! Thanks in advance!
Please try Clarins!!!!
It’s been my fave for 30 years
And here was one of
my issues. Before I started wearing body sunscreen every day (or burst into flames if I don't), my self-tan seemed to last forever. When I use sunscreen, not so much. So it became not worth the hassle 😁💗
Oh my goodness yes I have had the same issue!! I wish their was a solution
you should do an updated tanning routine you look amazing :)
Sooo what’s y’all’s favorite??? I need a dark one..
