I always love how you analyze the photo and explain why it will make a good painting. I often replay that bit a couple of times before proceeding with the video. For me, this has been the invaluable bit and I could watch you analyze and break down the view all day.
You probably dont give a damn but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost the password. I would love any help you can give me
@Imran Edward i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I can only imagine as someone who produces content that you must think people get sick of hearing similar phrases or terminology. I personally love the soothing nature of this channel, Ive been watching it since you started and I still love hearing the type of paper and weight. Its almost like intro music. I wonder if others can chime in to say if they agree. You should narrate nature documentaries
Always a pleasure to see your videos show up in my feed! I really enjoy the process discussion and auto- critique you do in these demos. The workshop submission critiques are a rich minefield of insight too. Thanks, Mr. WIlmot.
Tim, you sometimes say that the color is not important, but I'm always impressed by the way you make the colors in a scene more varied and interesting than the photograph. Thank you for your lessons!
Dear Master......Thanks a lot. It is a pleasure to watch you painting and happy to hear your words.....Really enjoyed ....What a feel....Light and shade plays freely in the painting......
You deserve it. I get mesmerised watching you paint, wondering what the hell you will do with this mess, then you pull it into a beautiful painting, and I think “wait a minute, how did he do that!” And have to watch it again…
I struggle to see a picture and visualize it as watercolor image. Ive watched this tutorial at least an additional 15 times, and Im still learning from this. The way the first wash (to me as a beginner) looks hopeless, but then comes to life with the second and third wash is better illustrated here than the many other videos Ive seen.
I am sure sir that you know certain fine tricks. When my father chose a painter for teaching me i never learnt anything else of painting then i saw in a you tube lots of painters drawing i take proper learning from it.
Oh good in the mood to follow you again to paint. Like many list my mojo a bit and moved house so still hunting my art stuff. Will enjoy watching for the moment. Thanks Tim. Bx
I came across your channel and love the way you explain everything. All the tips and advice and great to be able to see everything you are doing. You are very talented. Great tutorial!
Great work! Very inspirational! During the process of sketching and colouring, it would be better to show the images again from time to time, to see how you make the transition from what you see in image and what you actually draw and paint on the paper.
Fabulous watercolor ! It’s so cool the way you use your smaller brush, almost like a pencil when you paint with a certain flow. I definitely will give that a try. Would you please give me the website of your workshops....couldn’t quite understand when you announced it as you were painting. Thank you again for this awesome tutorial. I will check out your Patreon page! 😀✌️
Superb! Lovely effect on light and shadow. It seems you move through this phase so effortlessly. Do you have a strategy that you might share for avoiding flow back (cauliflower) during this phase? Thanks again for another wonderful demonstration!
I Absolutely Love this Lesson. What wld you recommend to watch as a Intermediate Watercolor Painter.? Someone that knows the Basics but still has trouble getting to a Nice Final watercolor Painting..?
Hi Tim, Which colours do you use in the main? How often do you add water to the paper to soften the edges of your colour mixing? Many thanks and I enjoy watching you at work. Clitheroe is a lovely market town on the edge of the Ribble Valley.
It's a great tutorial and love watching the process of building up layers, but you don't say which colours you use from the start as you're mixing and applying them which would be instructive. Thanks. A beautiful and inspiring result!
Thank you Tim. Thourouhghy enjoyed the painting demo. Do you sell your paintings on line besides the print editions? I’ve been a fan for while now. Best, Gary Sievert Santa Fe , New Mexico
Thanks for this demo, Tim! It's excellent as usual. Have you completely eliminated greens from your pallette? I've noticed Sap Green is really difficult to layer with other colors on the paper, so I'm considering eliminating it.
Yes, I would not bother with sap green. Mixing a viridian with burnt umber is nice, or cobalt green with yellow ochre, or any yellow and any blue, 50/50 gives a vibrant green
Thank you Tim 🌺 i send you link to one of my collegues very interessed by your amazing watercolour work . Which papier brand do you use ?nice day David
Hello. At exactly 40:00 in when you are finishing legs of people, exactly what brush are you using? It appears you are almost able to draw with it, thank you.
I love the videos you make! Great explanation even with the original photograph - I find myself don’t observe enough to start paint. Also, what is the white paint you used at the end? I tried a few brands but they are not white enough :(
Easy! To see the source photo, just open another tab on your browser or window (or open video on another device like your mobile) and pause in the opening minutes where I show the source photo. I also share the photos in high resolution on my Patreon site - www.patreon.com/timwilmot. Thank you
Nice Demo Tim! If I'd known you were painting in Clitheroe you could have popped in for a cup of tea, we live about 8 miles down the road! Do I join Patreon to pay you per demo or can I do it somewhere her on YT?
Hi John. Was staying in Burnley at the time. Patreon is a per month subscription where you get monthly projects, ad free videos, community and livestreams from me! Would love to have you there!
Do you start with fresh paint in your palette, or do you just wet what you had sitting there? Getting the right pigment/water mix is my biggest challenge.
Simple, easy, you keep using those words, I wonder if you know what they mean....😄 Seriously, I don't think this is a very easy scene to paint. Hm, I should come back to this vid when I have some time to spare, and paint along so you can prove me wrong! Love your painting btw.
I love your very loose, very suggestive painting style. But my eye is always distracted by the extremely short, often partially missing lower limbos of the figures. The upper bodies are very quick and suggestive and then they are cut off at the knee. Why is that?

Why not just project the photo (there are various ways) directly onto the paper and trace it off? You've made half the painting into a drawing exercise. Maybe it's just the commercial artist in me...
@@TimWilmot No, making life as difficult as possible is art. He should paint with the brush in his left foot while hanging upside down in a nearly dark room. Now *_THAT'S_* art.

Opaque to me are 'thicker'. I call them 'chalky'.
