Clear and concise instruction from a very talented Artist.Coupled with a great demonstration of technique in loose watercolour. Learning so much from you Tim. Many, many thanks mate.
You are becoming a great influence on my own work. I’ve been doing watercolor for many years now. After being an oil painter I fell in love with the medium and there’s no going back. I’m drawn to your humble manner because it’s more like my own quieter nature. I hope you do this for a long time.
Sir I have seen maximum number of watercolor paintings in you tube channel. All those painters watercolor didn't match with one another especially demonstration . I appreciate your idea in the watercolor demonstration, excellent.
WOW!!! I learned so much watching you for the first time. The rhythm in your techniques is amazing. This painting is absolutely gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing your talent.🎨
Wow... One of my favourite artist and your magical hands.... Really great job... you are my favourite water colour artist in whole world... God bless you and your family 🙏
Hello Tim 👋. Very nice painting. I like these shadows which are coming in an angle through the scene. And you brought the light into the painting. Top reflections as well. The values are well done.
Again a lot of valuable information given here. You know how to explain your way of doing things and it makes that want to follow you (sorry for the bad english). Thank you very much for all your advice and your efforts to encourage us to start this loose style watercolor, really great. An unreserved admirer.
Magnificent painting! Your explanation of technique is thorough and detailed. However, I must admit that I didn’t understand the washes as they were very abstract and I couldn’t make sense of your next move. The result is extraordinary if one gets how to emulate what you did
Thanks for watching. If you fancy a go yourself, why not consider being a Patron via my Patreon site. For a small pledge I set regular painting projects and you get a video critique back from me in return. More info at www.patreon.com/timwilmot . Thanks again.
Thank you Tim for a super demonstration , I loved the finished result . After watching you working maybe I won't go into overdrive panic when I have to paint the shadows next time ! Here's hoping anyway !
Another great video Tim, I love the loose but realistic style "wonderful" thanks for sharing! I have some photos of Torquay Harbour that I've wanted to paint for a while now. Think it may be time 👍
Amazing ! Beautiful painting. Relaxing to hear you speak. Do you take a break in between and edit that part?. This requires so much concentration on both the painting and speaking. Really thanks.
So any times my watercolors look like yours did during the initial washes. My problem has always been the layers to bring in the detail. Learned a bunch watching this tutorial. Can’t wait to try what I think I’ve learned. Thank you for a great tutorial!
Dear Mr Tim. I suggest if the reference photo can be shown continuously while you are painting it so that your instructions can be co related with it..
Hello Mr Tim Wilmot. Thanks for your advices and your beautiful video! I am student, and I ask myself what are your material? I mean, what brand of watercolor do you use, please? Thank you, and have a good day!
Yep, I've no problem with painting from a photo - it's just another source of info, though I think its better if you were actually at the scene to take that photo and experience the atmosphere. I don't like painting plein - air because I really don't like anyone watching me as I paint - I find it distracting and these days you really have to be aware of who's around you. I really admire those who can set an easel up in a busy city street...they must have nerves of steel !.
What's very interesting to me is that the big dark mass of trees behind the buildings is hardly visible in the reflection in the harbour. So reflections in water are not what we would call a "mirror image", they are more subtle than that. That's because you have to imagine the water surface extending all the way up to the object being reflected. Then you can place the "mirror image" correctly. In this case the reflection of the trees is "hidden" behind the reflection of the buildings and quayside.
U need to keep a pic of the original.pic by its side so that your 1st wash is clear. I couldn't relate te 1st wash because i could not see the original reference picture

Wow, that's a wonderful job! I didn't understand if after drawing with graphite you wet the sheet or if you started painting directly wet on dry.
Mainly wet on dry

One day (pre covid) I did a plein air in the centre of a busy outdoor market of a large town. I painted for 2 hours and nobody interrupted me.
👏👏👏
Thanks x 3
bene ...piacevole con tanta luce ;-)
Thank you
I have asked about this before but Why do my paint drie so fast? I have the same paper and i dont take much water...
More humid room? Maybe try wetting paper first? Or practice with a spray?
Супер!!!
