Does matte finish match the original Air Force finish the best?? Also I know you’re not supposed to do the soles, but how can you achieve doing the Nike and the line on the soles? If I’m only doing the Nike swoosh on the shoe, can I just tape it and only do the finisher remover and the finisher on that part? And does this paint work on the black forces? 😅
I also painted the Nike logo on the back of some Air Force 1’s, but I didn’t use the softener liquid, I just used regular Angelus paint + satin acrylic finish, will it stay on ?
Great video i love the shoes but I got some qustions please I bought paint from angelus abt month ago and I paint a lot on shoes. Is there a spray that i can apply on the shoe so it will protect the paint more and there wont be a lot of wrinkles? And i soon buy an air brush but all i got is the paint and 1 finisher What other products do i need for airbrush? Thank you for reading 💛
It's all about the prep. Before applying paint and finisher it is very important to prep the leather with acetone or our Leather Preparer and Deglazer. This will remove the factory finish which will then allow the paint to adhere to the leather. Without this step, the paint will not last regardless with or without finisher.
I'm looking to do something simple. I wanted to make some mardi gras color shoes. So I wanted the shoe to stay white and I only wanted to paint some purple gold and green on the check like paint drippings and just some paint splatter along the bottom sole. I wanted to know what do I use if I don't have a heat gun?
Yeah it depends on the design and preference. Just the base coat with 2 Soft seems to be the popular choice these days and works really well in this case.
is there a way to prevent the color from creasing where the shoe naturally creases (toe box) over time? i properly prep & paint thin layers but they still crease after just a few wears, is that just part of customized shoes or am i doing something wrong?
The best way to prevent creases is by inserting some De-creasers. We sell these on our website and they help to prevent the toe box from creasing excessively.
Hey Angelus, I've been watching afew Americans unboxing a big Angelus set, is that extra large paint set with brushes etc only for American customers? I'm from the UK and only have found a max of 12 is a set.
It may depend on who you are purchasing it from. Some distributors may only have certain bottles or kits available. Here's a link that may help you find different distributors near you. angelusshoepolish.com/pages/where-to-buy
With the proper preparation it will stay on forever. However, this always depends on how much you wear it. You can treat it like any normal shoe and will come across normal wear and tear. So you may have to touch it up ever so ofter.
I'm from Portugal and the shipping from USA to here is too expensive so I'm looking forward to buy essential things like: preparer and deglazer, 2-Thin, 2-soft, 2-Hard and acrylic finisher. Are thoose products compatible with other leather paints? I'm trying to save as much money as I can so I would like to buy leather paint from here if they are compatible with 2-Soft, 2-Hard and 2-Thin. And can I mix 2-Soft and 2-thin to paint using an airbrush on a shoe? Love from Portugal
Do you have to use Angelus 2 soft when painting on shoe laces, I'm only outlining them as I'm doing the cartoon design so will the 2 soft be necessary ?
Yes, it is necessary if you are planning to paint any kind of fabric such as canvas and mesh. The paint and 2-Soft mixture must be heat set using a heat gun.
Could someone tell me how to keep the paint on the bottoms of shoes such as Jordan 1s and Air Force 1s? Because when I paint mine it always comes off after walking in them
Although Angelus paint can be applied to soles of shoes, it is not guaranteed to hold up. Therefore it is not recommended to paint on soles. If done so, apply some type of Sole-Protector to preserve the painted bottom.
After you prep with acetone you can always add a base layer first. Although we are unable to vouch for hydro-dipping. When it comes to using our paints it would depend on the color you are using.
Thats whats cool about customs, you can always request a specific finish from the artist. Everyone has their own flavor and with Angelus its so easy to accommodate
Angelus Paint is not recommended for use on the very bottoms of shoes as the paint will wear away as soon as you start walking in them. Angelus Paint also works great on certain Soft Midsoles (Jordan 3's, Jordan 4's), and will not hold up on hard midsoles (Converse, Vans, Jordan 1's, Air Force 1's, etc). We want you to have the best experience possible with realistic goals.
Two questions. 1. Could I customize basketball shoes, play in them, and not see any cracking or fading? 2. When will u be able to ship products again on your website?
Yes, just make sure to prep the sneaker really well before applying multiple thin coats of paint. If leather, use acetone or our Leather Preparer and Deglazer to remove the factory finish. This will allow the paint to adhere to the leather properly. For any questions about your order or website, please feel free to contact or Customer Support. Thanks for your patience and understanding!
You can try our 802 Spot Remover but other than that it's not likely to remove paint from clothing. angelusdirect.com/products/spot-remover?_pos=3&_sid=31ce32794&_ss=r

Angelus Duller is mixed with Angelus Paint in order to reduce the amount of shine in the paint. Perfect item if you want the "Matte" or "Flat" look. Only 5-10% of duller is needed and recommended.
Whats the difference between angelus 2soft und angelus 2thin? I wanna paint my leather sleeves in a different colour and i don't know what to mix the colour with

Thank u, do you think i could use a normal brush to paint the leather sleeves or should i buy airbrush? This will be my first time trying this and i want the sleeves to look even
The heat gun will only speed up the drying times and is not required for most situations. If you are painting fabrics and using 2-Soft then a heat gun will be required to set the paints into the fabric properly.
Yes, when speeding up drying times a hairdryer works just as well. However, when heat setting 2-Soft, it is recommended to use a heatgun at 300º F for 3-5 minutes
How long does Angelus Paint last on the shoes? Been searching online and couldnt find any answers🤔, only saw that the paint in the bottle last for 3 years. What about the shoes? ✌🏼

When prepping a shoe, do I have to sand down the shoe before painting with angelus paint? I want my customs to last as long as possible!
Sanding is not required however it does help with the overall durability.

After adding acrylic finisher angelus can it be repainted or do you have to remove that layer of acrylic?
Do you have to use a heat gun? Would a blow dryer work?
I also painted the Nike logo on the back of some Air Force 1’s, but I didn’t use the softener liquid, I just used regular Angelus paint + satin acrylic finish, will it stay on ?
Most artist do not add the 2-soft when painting to Nike logo in the back tab. Applying just the paint would be quite alright.
The finisher is only on the toe box and the swoosh right
Love the custom looks good 🔥 but question is there a substitute for 2 hard and 2 thin and 2soft cuz I cant afford it 😔
The substitutes for 2-Hard and 2-Soft are GAC 200 and GAC 900. 2-Thin is an acrylic thinner so there may be similar products in art supply stores.
