Raiders fan here, and i remember Marcus gettin done dirty by AL. I was actually happy back then to see him punish the Raiders. I loved Marcus Allen great dude, great back, and great career. Hes a player id love to cross paths with someday shake his hand and simply say THANK YOU MARCUS🇺🇸👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸
I was a kid sitting in the Oakland-Alameda county Coliseum had Marcus Allen (like he always did) tore us up and i said out loud "I hate Marcus Allen." Then everybody around us turned and told me the history of Marcus I'll never forget it and really it helped me appreciate the game more. #32!
Al Davis really did him dirty. And robbed him years of his career. Whatever their beef was I wish Marcus had tried to leave earlier because it was obvious Al did not want him.
Larry McCormick he tried for years but free agency wasn't what it is now. The reason it is like it is now, is because of Allen's very public petition and lawsuit. He tried to leave for several years under the table, and Al Davis wouldn't let him, so he made it public. He wrote a book shortly after he retired about how badly Davis treated him, about his career, and about his life that otherwise people wouldn't know. Mark Davis doesn't even know why Al hated him so much. Mark Davis loves Allen, which led to Allen's restored relationship with the raiders
Marcus Allen rushing statistics for the years Bo Jackson was on the Raiders. As you can see below he wasn't a backup or robbed of prime years during that time. That occurred in 1991-1992. 1987 - 200 attempts 754 yards 3.8 average 1988 - 223 attemps 831 yards 3.7 average 1989 (8 games due to injury) 69 attempts 293 yards 4.2 average 1990 - 179 attempts 682 yards 3.8 average
I think Marcus Allen is definitely one of the most versatile and great backs to ever play and he would have even more numbers were it not for the fact that Al Davis rarely used him for the better part of 3+ seasons which is a mystery unless he just held a grudge.
While Bo Jackson is excusable, they also used the fossilized Eric Dickerson in 1992. That was the last straw. Seriously Al, if you didn't want him, then trade him!
this gives off the feeling like he isn't a raider and it pisses me off. he even goes to raider events reps nothing but the Raiders and wears raider gear. he loves the Raiders and doesn't even speak on the cheifs much. just look at his twitter... all raider events and support.
right that's the feeling I get too.. Marcus Allen a raiders regardless of him going to the chiefs that was him butting heads with al, he won a sb with the raiders know for that classic play in the sb, we drafted him and he squashed it by lighting the torch at the Coliseum AND lol what he said above me lol 👆
Raider Nation He has since squashed the hatred for the raiders but he and Al Davis hated each other with a passion. That never have and never will change. That's why he said he wouldn't accept the hall fame if he went in as a raider. He wrote a book about how terrible Al Davis was to him, after he retired. It's very well written and true, you should pick a copy up. Just a few weeks ago he said that he would "never choose" between the Chiefs and the Raiders now. Why? He's close friends with Mark Davis, who doesn't share the hatred that his dad had for him. Marcus doesn't know why he hated them. The only theory they had was that, Al never wanted to draft him, but their GM did it anyways. That rubbed Al the wrong way and he took it out on Allen. Allen reps his raiders career because of the loyal fans and Mark Davis, but he's also a very proud member of the Chiefs kingdom. He breaks the rules, but he's a legend so it works.
I recently seen a you tube video with Marcus Allen Where he on the radio show Sway in the Morning. Sway's a big Raider fan a Oakland native and he was messing around with Marcus and told him I know you played with the chiefs but your more of a raider, more known as a raider wouldn't you agree and he said yes, I feel like he was bitter towards Al Davis of course of there past, but since Al Davis passing and time he's learned to forgive and forget, he's a legend, Hall of Famer, Super Bowl Champ, Ect What more can you want, to me Marcus Allen is a Raider Regardless of his feud with Al, Who didn't feud with him, Stabler, Willie brown, at the end of the day it's all men's ego's
He hated Marcus because Marcus was the polar opposite of everything the Raiders stood for. Class act, came from a wealthy family, played in a prestigious college, and good-looking. Also, according to one of his former coaches, "not a fast runner".
Remember being a kid going to raider's chiefs games and saying out loud I hated him, only to have my dad uncle and other fans turn to me and explain he was a raider and was did wrong by Al.
argument could be made he was the greatest running back of all time...over 100 tds, 12+k on the ground, 5000+ reciever and thats with 6 years basically robbed from him...
Markus came to Kansas City and told Marty how to woop ass on his hated Raiders team, and were still wipping there asses today. Thanks Markus. Sorry raiders fans you wont be decision leaders for a long time not with mehomes in kansas city. Besides the Raiders left Oakland and went to Nevada if you want to fill that place you have a very long drive. Honestly I think it was a dumb move.

Talk about revenge. This guy shredded oakland every time he played them

And he threw the ball! Best all around offensive back of all time.
His Career in KC was so Underrated! He was lethal!
Great player I will never forget the super bowl run / coming from a NINER FAN
This should have never come to pass... Al Davis allowed this to happen! Marcus is always a Raider in my book and he made us pay dearly.
Thats so sad!

DaveAllenSpeaks they had bo Jackson to

I feel like I was givin a gift after watching this video.
And Rich Gannon, who eventually become a MVP with the Raiders, was the QB of the Chiefs
Time flies
The Chiefs and Raiders have a mutual connection that I wouldn't like to believe. It's true, though.
Loved Marcus when he was with KC.

Whatever Al Davis' beef really was against Marcus, he took it to his grave with him.

Marcus Allen
Played his best game against the Los Angeles Raiders in the final week of the 1994/95 season at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum 🏟
Chad West
His best game as a Chief
Let's see Charles repeat the greatness this Sunday!
All I know is he is a raider legend
How many Super Bowls did Marcus Allen with the Chiefs? Now I remember. None.
argument could be made he was the greatest running back of all time...over 100 tds, 12+k on the ground, 5000+ reciever and thats with 6 years basically robbed from him...
So, this is making another case for Tiki Barber's worthiness for induction into the Hall of Fame.
Lmao him leaving on bad terms in New York hurt him
Haters wanna hate...lovers wanna love...marcus allen didnt need none of the above...he just scored touchdowns on you...
Allen Career was weird but brilliant. You must be a KC fan feeling a little biased. Allen is Raider at heart
i love the NFL even if my team (Phins) suck..... only seen them in the playoffs once smh
maybe Kenyan Drake can teach them how to win
doubt it
Why didn't his Raiders team-mates stand up for him & remind Davis : Whatever it takes baby . Could have had a few more Superbowls .
Imagine knowing you are a bad ass runningback but just managed to be put on a team that had the only other running back that was better than you.
suprised this earyl 90s chiefs team never won a superbowl, the roster was filled with hall of famers
GRID IRON LEGEND TOUGHEST RUNNER TO DATE
Tecmo bowl Marcus and Bo
Lol
#USC #Fighton
W
God bless
He reminds me of Ricky Watters
The Black Panthers were from this city...
Hi
