    Thank you Jason, I am catching up on your videos. This was really insightful as I had a few CT scans and having another one soon. Many blessings your way.... hope all went OK with the CT scan.

    It would be nice to hear from a radiographer or a radiologist, maybe a chemist as to what actually is in CT contrast. Google just tells me they are either Iodine-based or Gadolinium-based but what the bulk is made of I don't know. Is there any sugar in there, seems unlikely but I know next to nothing.

      I wish I knew! They call it sugar contrast. I have asked, and they dont have any answers. This is why I figured I would run the tests. Plus, my GKI is always messed up for a few days after. Must not be the instant glucose. I really can't explain it.

    I'm just a novice at this science stuff, but my thinking was this: Jason, that the reason your glucose reading was 88 after the scan , my thinking is that that is because your tumors uptook the glucose. the tumors ATE the glucose, so the amount left in your blood was LESS , *after* the scan, than before when it was 98/99. Wouldn't that make sense and explain things?--i.e. the scan was using the glucose to light up so the radiologist can get a reading as to WHERE the tumors are......And the fact that your tumors uptook the glucose is why , consequently, your BLOOD 's reading itself, went DOWN. I don't know if this makes sense the way I'm trying to explain it, but what do you think, Jason, I'm curious. Thanks. 🥀Donna

      Could be. I am not really sure. Hard to say

    I think the radioactive glucose in PET scan is very low so it won’t increase your glucose.

      I did CT. They dont order me PET they just say I am going to die anyways, so they dont need one. Yes, the PET is definitely more radioactive based. CT scans they tell me are sugar contrast whatever that is lol.

    Could it have temporarily increased, and then dropped further as a result, before you re-tested? The timing isn't clear. Also, do you have details on the exact amount that's used in the contrast? Like if it's just a gram or two, you probably wouldn't normally notice anything, right?

    • @jasonwatson6104
      @jasonwatson6104  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm not sure about the amount. I tested right before. 10 minutes max. I tested right after. 5 minutes max. I was surprised.

    I did you test you sugar 1 hour and 2 hours after the scan? I know my sugar doesn't spike after I eat for 1 to 2 hours.

      I don't know how the contrast was administered but if it was done via an IV (the typical method) the change should have been instantaneous.

    Really appreciate you doing this. I have had many scans and do wonder about this. Great to know scientifically

      They wanted to use it with my mri, but I refused. I’ve been poisoned by mercury and so did not want to be poisoned again, by whatever chemicals are in it. I’ve been informed, that if you use a 3T machine, then dye is not needed as the images are a lot clearer. Just seems counter productive adding more chemicals, to an already compromised body.

      It would be interesting to know if CT scan dye contrast has sugar in it. I have always thought it would be the PET scan solution that would be the one to raise blood sugar. I would really appreciate it if Jason would test to see exactly what his blood sugars read before and after a PET scan.

    • @jasonwatson6104

      PET is radioactive die I believe. At least the one PET I had was. CT scan they tell me is sugar contrast. I am not really sure. I just know it usually messes up my GKI or a few days, so I said I would test glucose before and after, so I did.

      @jasonwatson6104 PET scan is a sugar and radioactive dye solution. They use sugar so it will go where the cancer is.

      @@jasonwatson6104 I’m glad you tested, Jason. I, and I’m sure many others appreciate everything you do in the name of researching any and everything you are able to do in the journey to help battle cancer. Even the little things matter. I can only imagine the things that have led to treatments, or helpful knowledge from people doing things that others might have thought of as a waste of time or that wouldn’t be helpful. I love your fighting spirit Jason and your willingness to go the extra mile.
