I was there. I remember before the show the advertisements said they would be "under water". We were asking ourselves "what in the world is PFunk gonna do this time?!?!" We really didn't know what they were going to do. Then after a good 90 minutes of a typicl PFunk concert there was a break....(Bernie solo on keys for a while) ....then the band came back and the whole stage was set up like a fish tank! The large tinsel strips blowing behind the rock had the appearance of bubbles just like a fish tank! Band members in angel fish costumes "swimming" back and forth! Talk about trippin! After the show we were like PFunk did it again!
This was the very first concert I saw. It's very awesome to see this. What a show this was to see live in person. From a time in history when concerts were truely concerts. George is brilliant and was way ahead of his time and had the most unique concerts that I evered witnessed. Truely the funkiest man on the planet of all times.
Totally. I just saw them two days ago. Living legend. The real ambassador of funk amd godfather. 80 years old. Still giving that party funk vibe. Its like a carnival funk. The best !!!. Blessed to saw them
never learned to swim, can't catch the rhythm of the stroke! love this song, listened to it my first mushroom trip while playing mario, and these cats know what they're doing! LOL!
They were in Hampton,Va in February 79 with this show. If you're enjoying this now, then you can imagine how it was live! The only group that could rival with their shows was EWF. Lasers were used in the lighting scheme to make it look like it was under water. It was so many people there, they ended up bringing the dogs to control the crowd.
Man the Rawness of the band come out in full force LIVE. This is why I don't do live concerts now, its put in a beat track and sing along. This is that Free YO Mind and YO Fingers will Follow Jam.
At the time this song was released, I had a T-shirt made for my brother, as a Christmas present. Everyone in the shop, was shocked when I told the store clerk that I wanted “Pschoalphadiscobetabioaquazooloop” on it!😂
Bro really!!! I have seen them live back 2002 in Jersey on my 21st birthday. I sang Atomic Dog with George on stage. 2nd best day of my life only to my son's birth.
I caught the bus me my buddy a cat we had on suits with skinny ties because u know the gq craze was happening . Toledo Ohio sports arena seen this show I was a freshman in high school I'm 58 years ago and when they return to downtown Toledo in July it will be my 12th time seeing them from 1979 .but just think with all of the technology and promotion and financing they could put on a high tech show return of the mothership and incorporate All of themes and characters into one show and promote it bruh!!!! U wouldn't even be able to get a seat so c'mon George
Fourty years Ago I Witiness The Motor Booty Show At The Los Angeles Coliseum May 26th 1979 on A Saturday, The Started 11:00 In The Morning And Ended With Parliament At 12:00 That Night ... . From Blewfoot. ....🤘🤘🤘
I saw this concert in Flint, MI at the old IMA Auditorium. It was a fabulous concert and the skull was awesome when George Clinton came out from the two front teeth! What a night! An Ice storm happened during the concert and it took me over 4 hours to drive 35 miles that night! I Luv Parliament!
Word ! Met Ray Davis, a real energetic, funny guy. He's one of those dudes you'd invite to a party and he'd light up the room. It was pleasure to meet him.
Actually he's the "Low_End" bass vocals...tenor vocals are high toned like when Walter "June" Morrison does on: "You can dance under water and not get wettttt!!!"
I know what you were doing lunupe83:) All good man...You are a little bit ahead of me....I was around 12-13 yrs old at this time. I had this album and sure can't find it today...I remember bringing this album to my jr. high music class. Trippin'!
Spaniggles that show was off da hook! The Capital Center in Landover,MD which is now destroyed and a mall! lol. My second Parliament concert and at 17 years old, senior in high school? Guess what I was doing at the show? lol
All of parliament funkadelic songs are funny come on you must not be a true p-funk fan. This is them at the highest point in their career they don't play it like this any more!!! One of the best tunes they came out with that a true p-funk fan can only appreciate.

An acquired taste doesn't stay at the No.1 position on the R&B singles charts for four weeks. That song was and is THE JAM! Thems the facts.
The bass playing on this is spank nasty :-)
Those definitely ain't silly lyrics. Listen very closely to the lyrics. There some deep wisdom contained therein.
Absolutely

Skeet is damn crazy....the growl on his funk!!!!
Skeet is something else. My favourite P funk bassist. The most iconic would be Bootsy though.
