I changed my spark plug but not my spark plug wire mine starts up on first go but then either revs up for a bit then dies or while riding “pops pops pops” like you said then dies I just bought the thing it was running AMAZING when I got it Monday drove it around and all then Thursday starts to die, also spark plug was dirty when I pulled it off I’m gonna try to change the wire hopefully that works! Helpful video!
Might have something to do with compression. Once the quad is hot everything expands and could be loosing compression which could stall it. Have you checked the idle make sure it's high enough?
I have a kawasaki lakota. New carburetor it started ran for awhile but then died on me. Now it's cranks then starts and die. I got a new spark plug and it started again did the same now plug is wet and the tip of plug is bend. Do u think the cylinder is hitting it maybe needs short thread spray plug? Please help me out I do t wanna sell it or scrap it yk. It's my project and I'm to my last straw with it.
sorry I missed ya there. I remember off the top of my head but I found this online www.manualslib.com/manual/802059/Kawasaki-Kvf300.html?page=363&term=starter&selected=4#manual
Great vid. I have same machine but much more experienced in Brisbane Australia (32000k on clock). You are right about lack of vids/info on interweb. I think I need to change regulator and cant find its location. Manuals I have access to no help. Any idea. Thanks Andy
Mine only runs on choke, stalls under load, dies on idle.. tried cleaning carb, replacing carb, drain and clean tank, air filter, etc... Spark plug looked old but ok. I will try that next, before i look at valve adjustments.
Bought one just like this a month ago. It wasnt charging the battery, changed voltage regulator and stator. Now she will not start....im ready to throw the towel in!!
One day I'll learn to not listen to TH-cam people without first trouble shooting myself. Took everything apart and now my fuel control box is leaking along with other lines. After getting it all apart and breaking old parts, I'm finding the spark plug is accessible with a spark plug socket and elbow for a ratchet directly right side without taking anything apart. Another lesson learned.

Yeah change the wire because it easy. Then tackle the carb give it a good cleaning.
Mine only does it when it's warm, change plugs ignition, hose and carb. Any ideas? (ordering a new carb holder)

@@SomethingonSodom idle screw is easy enough to get to. Been running high idle
Know it burns oil got bout 5000 miles on it. Use it for plowing and dragging logs
@@denniskawa4412 same I just plow snow and haul a small trailer with it. Solid 20 year old quad.
Another issue I have now is I changed the carb but I have about half the power I had before. Just gutless now
I was wondering if it would be possible to put a metal rack on my kawasaki prairie 300 4x4 2001
Well my 2000 has the little steel rack on it. I'm just yours has bolt holes for one? Might be tough to find one. You could weld up your work.
@@SomethingonSodom thanks

if the spark plug is making contact youll need to investigate for sure. It must be making one hell of a noise?
Quick question how do I wire my battery to the starter ? Every time I wire it up seems like i got it wrong

I have the kawasaki repair manual as well I'll have a look. I haven't had any electrical issues so far so haven't went looking for it.

Did any of that work? Thats my issue now
I’m having the exact same problem. Were you able to fix the problem?
@@salty209 adjusting the the valves seems to have fixed it.
mint. sorry missed this post.
And where did you order a new boot from ?
I think I got it off Amazon. Just check out kawasaki exploded diagrams. It wasn't hard to find.
Thanks man perfect
No problem 👍
I’ve got the same year model and there’s always bugs and shit crawling out of it! On a serious note my prairie will out work my 2018 brute force!
nice im just uploading a valve adjustment video on here. my prairie is acting up this winter. uhgg
I don’t see how primaries our just junk cleaned the carb had it re built still refuses to run right in done fooling with it
Why would you take the gas tank off to change the spark plug we you can just go in from the right front wheel well in two seconds
I think I was working on the carb shortly after.
Or the spark plug wiring. Can't remember. Yes I understand you can get just the spark plug from the side.
Thanks 👍

Which boat is in the picture on your wall?
Good catch! It's actually a drawing my grandfather made for my sister and me. The S. S Gilbert bhaahhaah
Jackass......the video is about a quad repair. Not pictures on the wall..get a life
on prarier 360 you can just reach the plug from the side hah
pulled my cover and tank out for nothing :P
and 2 hours later i cant get fuel tank back on
rear bolts wont line up and i cant push the tank forward anymore
@@cyclingzero2353 I just had that same problem. Filing away some rubber now. Lol

@@SomethingonSodom oh i got the repair manual ha. I can only get it to backfire..im eliminating possibly problems as i go. Its been a huge headache.
