I'm a native English speaker. I've got to say, your British accent is extremely impressive, although that may not mean much given that I'm an American. I didn't even realize that you're a Finn until you mentioned that some people criticize you for your accent and I checked what country you're from. Regardless of what accent you have, your pronunciation of words is perfect, and you're living proof that maintaining proper English pronunciation isn't impossible for non-native speakers!

Exactly! EVERYONE has an accent. If you have speech, you have an accent! To Brits, Americans have an American accent, to Americans, Brits have a British accent; Australians have Australian accents, Irish have Irish accents, Russians have Russian accents, Scots have Scottish accents, Middle Eastern & Asian people have their own respective accents, etc. etc. etc. (to quote Yul Brenner.) ;-) Wherever you go in the world, people have accents exclusive to *that* region. Everyone on the planet speaks with an accent. So to say that one can't or shouldn't teach vocal lessons, or whatever it is one teaches, because they have an accent is ridiculous & ignorant.

(i'm british and english is my first language so i'm not sure where the weird habit of dropping letters came from)

It's pretty embarassing sometimes to not enounciate properly especially that i'm a teenager amongst others in school (and teachers)who I need to communicate to daily
I will continue being aware and practice and get better and improve my confidence(because sometimes I am afraid to speak because of my weird non pronounciaton of last letters habit lol.)

Clearly, you don't have an accent, but some listeners might have one. I taught pronunciation in a couple of universities in Japan and you are correct by teaching native speakers to finish pronunciating their words. Is the cause impatience, too much in a hurry?

Actually I do have an accent and no it’s not necessarily the rate at which we speak that causes word endings to get missed. It really just might be the casual use of local dialects. Thanks for your comment. 😁
