Started in November at .5mg @ 247lbs. Today at 2.4mg I’m @196lbs. Very few side effects so far, only moderate nausea occasionally, and at $20 a month it’s definitely worth it.
Congrats, Michael. That's a great response to the treatment. It really is an incredibly effective medication. Unfortunately, cost (insurance coverage) and availability remain an impediment to wider adoption.
Eli Lilly for real said “hold my beer and watch this”. LOL, Mounjaro is a dual agonist, so you lose way more weight with MJ. I heard Lilly is actually coming out with a TRIPLE agonist by next year. That’ll be even more amazing.
Without insurance its going to be around $1200 or more. But Aetna insurance I think there is a coupon and can get it for about $25. I got my first 4 doses you take once a week free from my doctor. Gotta love free samples. I am doing my 1st injection tomorrow.
@@kajohsnon623 I just received my first month supply today. There wa a shortage and it took 3 weeks to get it back in stock. Walgreens honored my $25 coupon and shipped it directly to my house overnight for free. My primary care physician provided the prescription and the info for the $25 Co pay. I am in Michigan.
My primary care physician (pcp) sent me to an endocrinologist because he knew an endocrinologist is more likely to get approved through insurance. Your pcp can try but the insurance may deny covering it.
Matt, if Wegovy is working well for you, and you are tolerating it, you should plan to stay on it long-term. Obesity is a chronic disease, and we should really view the treatment as a long-term process. If/when you stop this medication, weight regain can occur.
Go onto the wegovy website and sign up for the savings card on there. It will give you a card to download and a number to give to your pharmacist to get the savings.
Interesting that you do not mention a word about the risks, such as thyroid or pancreatic cancer and many others ... also that you have to use it for a lifetime, because otherwise you immediately gain everything again, you mention with not a syllable ... Says everything about you and your channel 👌

@@DrMcGowanMD I’m now down to 190lbs. but it appears my weight loss has stabilized. I’m pretty please that’s for sure!!!
@@DrMJJr Congrats on your success!
Right now, I’m just waiting on my insurance to approve it for me and I’m on it!!! Do have to keep it refrigerated?
Refrigerate yes

Can your regular primary care physician prescribe this med, or does it need to be an endocrinologist?
This is best prescribed and managed by an endocrinologist or obesity medicine specialist.

Literally at 01:55 of the video. Pay better attention. And as anyone SHOULD know, this is a youtube video, not an actual MD consultation.
