Are their bad side effects?
@@Chodie4Life no. The worst I had was nausea. I take a B6 vitamin everyday. I drink Electrolyte water. I exercise and watch my diet.

I started at 1mg last Thursday, it makes fasting so easy. If I got to the realm of 2 to 2.4 I bet I would have zero appetite as 1 is strong.
I’m noticing slight nausea, but the sugar cravings are gone.

B6 vitamin will be your best friend if you need something for nausea.

my concern is the thyroid cancer
@@nekolee9175 the study reports they flooded animals (rats i think) with the drug and some developed thyroid cancer. Humans wouldn't have nearly the dose. On top of that, obesity is higher risk of early death then thyroid cancer is. I'd take thyroid cancer over heart disease.
My husband and I have been on Wegovy since January 2022, and we only pay $25 a month. It really does work. He's already lost 98 pounds, and I lost 51.

I suggest checking with your medical coverage first. They can transfer you to the pharmaceutical side for specific pricing. I just found out my insurance covers it. FYI if your having a problem with your doctor, you could do a virtual appointment with a doctor online. You would need to provide health records and may need to take a few test, but it's other ways around the doctor that ignore some of us. Good luck everyone.
By the grace of God, my insurance covers it and will be taking soon. I am hoping it helps me on my journey to lose weight. I understand it's just one tool to help me on my journey as I don't see it as a miracle shot, but as a step up to help me get to the point I want to be.

My physician prescribes the generic through a compounding pharmacy, and I pay around $300 for a 6 week supply. I draw it up myself in insulin syringes. I've lost 25 pounds in my first 7 weeks.

I am fortunate enough to live in the country Ozempic and Wegovy comes from, and here we have excellent healthcare, I am already down 47 pounds (21kg.) and still going strong. It really just makes me make better choices because my brain is not guided by my hungry growling stomach anymore. Semaglutide the active peptide (ingredient) in Wegovy does so that there is no signal of “I’m hungry” from your stomach to your brain, and it tricks your brain into thinking your stomach is full when it’s not. I have had no side effects and still going strong.
I hope you get it covered by your insurance in the US, so many peoples lives would change. 1200 $ is insane! I would not have the money for that if it was that much for me…

I spoke to my GP this morning about this and she is looking into it for me. I'm in Ireland. I don't look obese but I definitely need to lose about 60 - 80 lbs and my BMI is far too high. It really worries me and I'm 44 so I need to get my skates on and sort this issue out before I end up having cardiac issues.
I'm pretty confident that it's not covered on my medical card that usually allows me to only pay €2.50 for an item. That being said, if it cost about €150 per month I wouldn't mind paying that if it meant helping me to lose the weight.
@velcro i just spoke to GP today as well and she’s looking into it for me. i am 33 with 3kid and i had gestational diabetes during all my pregnancies. so fingers crossed i will get the medication.
My doctor prescribed it but the pharmacy has backorder for quite sometime now. I’m patiently waiting.

I’m on it now. I have prediabetes and because of that my insurance covered it. My friend, who is not prediabetic, is at risk of being that and because of that notation, her insurance covered it.

It does work! A real miracle for some of us, but it is horrid the price we we being charged and although obesity is a chronic illness most insurers won’t cover it.

be smart, if you know any friends abroad, get them to buy it cheap and send it to you. Or use a VPN to order on line from a foreign company.

I have been dieting and exercising since April 3rd, I did it BEFORE but I sprained both feet, gained back all the weight I lost, since May 30th no weight loss despite diet and exercise, on July 28th I passed out. Tried to get this from my Doctor she threw me out of her office. I need help.
I don’t understand why she threw you out of the office, she should be helping you, and if this will help you to lose the weight why wouldn’t she?

@@sherrykomusinmorales8518 Sadly, she kept yelling at me, that 'all I needed to do was Diet and Exercise', she said it four times, she didn't believe me. She knew my weight struggles, in 2019 she admitted that I had lost some weight... But, I was also diagnosed with bursitis in both hips, so my running had to stop, when I 'walk' I don't lose weight.
I went to another doctor, and she ordered a blood test, that 'demonstrated', that I had Diabetes II.
I was livid.
I had just been to my old doctor, the one that yelled at me, and she did the exact same blood test, it was "normal".
So, more diet and exercise but this time the new doctor prescribed Mounjaro!
But, even with the medication I am still doing 1200 calories a day, but I but, I cannot run anymore, so I must walk.
Weight loss is very slow, and now there is a shortage, so I am still working out but I am plateauing.... I was on 15 mg....I am very happy with my new doctor she doesn't yell at me, and she doesn't judge me.

My question is, if it slows the emptying of the stomach, wouldn't that lower your metabolic rate with time? Meaning that after you stop taking it, wouldn't your metabolism be slower? Like the ppl who were on "The biggest loser", who ended up with slower metabolism due to the extreme diet and exercise they endured in such a short period of time?

My friend is on it and he says he belches and farts all day. He’s too lazy to exercise and too undisciplined to eat a reasonable diet so Wegovy, burps, and farts it is.

On another interview the doctor qas mentioning thyroid cancer was oly found in the lab test mice. He never mentioned its possible for humans to get it too
Yes, but sadly some of us are fat and have always been big. It probably 60% our own fault and 40% genetics. If this helps us loose weight it is worth the risk.

@@renesaucedo9099 yes maybe you are right. Here is another way of looking at genetics. Why is it when I go to the gym (even when I am not lifting for many months) I am stronger than 85%-90% of the people who lift weights? It is because of natural genetics. I am naturally way stronger than most humans even when I don't lift. It not to say genetics is the end all be all but it does play a role. Obesity is definitely a result of lack of will power....but I am also saying genetics could contribute some. It's hard to say how much but I think it's more than 10%. Probably less than 40%.

I get mine covered for $25 a month. Definitely cured my extreme appetite that left me overweight, sad to see it not be the most accessible.
