Never dreamed that the top of the glacier would be anything other than smooth. Was so surprised at how dirty it is and how rough as in hilly with crator with water running into crevices. This was quite an educational experience! I am so thankful that you made this trip and shared it. What an incredible experience! I sincerely hope you get more snow this winter and next summer is not as hot. It is amazing how much it has melted through the years. Thank you for sharing Sylvia!!
Thank you both so much for this video. 50 years ago I was at Fiescheralp and the Eggishorn, how the landscape has changed over the years. The glacier is now visibly much lower than what I remember 😟. Concordiaplatz is still spectacular though when viewed from the Jungfraujoch, with the double central moraine mentioned by Kilian.
How i envy you, dear Sylvia. That 2 hours hiking is amazing. But i must confess that i feel my heart a bit tight because of what the climate changes are doing to that glacier and all over the world. This makes you work showing us these wonderful places even more important. Thank you my dear 🤗😘❤

So sad the Aletsch Glacier it's retreated hundreds of meters, all because the climate change. Many glaciers around the world are gradually disappearing. So It's too bad for our 🌎 home.
