I filmed some running miniature engines. In the video you can see the details of the engine and listen the sound during the start up and revving.
In order:
- 1917 Caterpillar Holt 75 - scale 1:8
- 1921 Moto Guzzi Normale - scale 1:2
- 1954 Fiat 55 CL - scale 1:6
- 1948 V8 Chevrolet - scale 1:4
- 1921 Caterpillar Sixty - scale 1:8
All engines are handmade by Iader Bagnoli (www.iadermotoridepoca.it/index..., completely running and are a nice replica that reproduce the real model.

I would like rc drag racer with small v8 and manual transmission like 50cm long
TheManInDboX These tiny engines have such a short crank throw thst they produce very little torque, so one would need a gearbox to compensate for that. I dont think that these would be able to move a ruckus with a person on it even with a Variomatic transmission.
luuk341 idk maybe if you had a electric motor for acceleration and used a tiny v8 or inline 4 with a larger crank and a cvt
It very well could. I dont know these engines in any detail at all so it might be possible for them to propell a vehicle even without a CVT or variomatic. With an electric motor it could for sure because of the insane torque figures those things have.

I love those cb performance sounding be beetle engines and ones that sound like those hornet stinger fragrance beetles and other quiet beetles riving with medium noise the first ones 3d printed custumized versions of it but miniature and custumized with mix of other components

I will tell you what the little opposed twin sounds exactly like my 58 BMW r60. Exactly kind of made me cry I wish I still had that bike. Well not really it only made 26 horsepower but I did learn to ride on it. At 15 years old I wrote it over Stevens Pass in the snow when I got down to the other side my uncle got us a hotel room and a gallon of wine!

It's difficult to imagine the level of skill it must take a single man to learn how to fabricate all these beautiful fully working miniature replicas.
I love these miniature engines so much, there just so cool, especially the V8’s they sound so good. Obsessed with these now, would love to have one.

Can the v8 engines just not handle being revved very high? I've noticed a lot of model V8 engines sort of 'crap out' at high rpm.. Somewhat like a bad stumble, or misfire. What is inherent to that design, when miniaturized, that causes problems?
