Last year my wife and I sold our truck and trailer and bought a 2023 Winnebago revel absolutely love the revel we just got back from Alaska three weeks ago we put it to the test and did the road to McCarthy , the Dalton hwy to Prudhoe bay , the Denali hwy , top of the world hwy and everything in between ,all the dirt roads frost heaves pot holes ,wash board road construction we went through not one issue nothing broke (except cracked windshield to be expected going to Alaska) or came loose ,all of the miles we did about 9,000 not one rattle very happy with the build quality we will be going back in 2026 to do the Dempster hwy .choosing the right RV can be frustrating class b vans are expensive but so versatile thanks for the great video.
The extra controls on the Storyteller: one button controls the small window next to the seats. The other two control the Electric Slide Loveseat. The XO needed something sexy to keep up with the Grove Lounge in the other models :) The seats recline, and I think the base slides in and out. The thing with the Storytellers is they all have the same chewy nougat on the inside, so if you don't go full Beast Mode you still get the same build quality and most of the same lifestyle features on the lesser (priced) models. I picked up the LT version in '22 and have since added a few extra bits like tire carrier and expedition box.
Hey. If money was no object, I'd get the Storyteller Beast but not the Mode XO. I like the open feel of the Mode OG and the way the Lounge area folds down. Othewise with money being an issue, the Winnebago Pocket B is actually looking good at $85K. I usually see it at $109K I've been looking at truck campers lately. Have you considered looking at those for content?
I always enjoy these van tour videos , thanks! One feature I wish you would address though, is the power source ( LI system, how many amp hours vs generator with AGM/Lithium and if propane or gas powered). This would really impact the price!
Thanks! Yeah, we would love to share that, but because we never know what Vans will be at the show, we can't do homework to have those details readily available. We agree that those stats impact the prices. But when we get to test the vans out, we will definitely make sure to share those details. Stay tuned, because we get to test an amazing van out in August!
Love you two! Please mention ‘Smart Plug’ 30 amp shore plug on certain vans. This is a Huge safety feature…I did the research, best on the market. Stay safe and happy, God bless.
Overlander trip for you two! Thanks for another great tour & surviving the heat! Love my 2024 Pleasure Way Plateau TS! Not cheap, but reliable, great customer support.
Yes! It would be so epic! At this show, we ran into the Pleasure-Way Sale guy, who taught us about the 2024 Plateau XLTS. They are made differently. Such great quality.
Yes, the Winnebago Solis Pocket newly designed so they can seat belt up to 2 kids. Would be great for smaller families or single parents with small kids. The Solis 59P (no pop top)now has an option of a couch bed instead of the Murphy bed now. I've never seen that Tiffin GH1 so thanks for sharing that. I'd love that for my daughter and me! Bob, you hate anything run on power because what if you run out of power. I do like some of Midwest's vans, but not so much the Heritage. Yay, you finally saw an XO! Grech is a really nice van. I kind of wish they had a lower quality line. Love their quality of build but don't need all the leathery upgrades. Feels very limo. Thanks for sharing, yet again.
I bought a 2024 Storyteller Beast and it's incredible, the quality and the battery system sold me. Since I paid that crazy price I have added a RIP kit and upgraded the stereo system and big brakes. I am about $280k all in. Yes, expensive but money grows on trees. lol
Loved seeing the solis pocket b, I have the A. I still like the Murphy bed rather than the bed that takes up floor space. It reminds me of the thor rize. Great price though…. $90k for my 23a, on a 22 chassis.
Storyteller should contact Bob and let him review it! Also, need more water storage 21 gallons is way too little water. What’s with all these vans, even the top end ones still using those huge 110V ACs instead of the newer slimline 12V ACs?
we have a Nomadic 12 volt ac. Works great. Also, if you boondock where there is a lake or stream / river, a Guzzle Stream will solve the water problem. About to use ours for the first time this week.
Went to check out the show yesterday, first time ever seeing vans in person. What fun! Loved the Solis Pocket due to the size for one person/compact size. The price sure has come down. Fun to see all the vehicles. Didn't know this show was going on, thanks for sharing!
The headrest on the Grech sofa is a great safety feature. Whenever we have a passenger in our Pleasure-Way, we have to create a makeshift headrest for the rear sofa to protect the person's head if we were rear-ended. If the Grech had the Ford Transit option, we would have considered it. We did not like owning a diesel. Great reviews of the different vans.
@storytelleroverland these guys need a ride in your van. Do it for Bob! Hey Bob, thank you for your service. I’m pulling for Storyteller to let you take one of these out. We have a Classic and you will LOVE IT!
As much as I like the fit and finish on some of these I still like the open layout of my sequence 20L. If Ram would do an all wheel drive I’d trade mine for a Travato 59KL in a heartbeat.
I always enjoy your tours! For those sticker prices, and lack of creativity, I would rather do my own build. Makes me love our 1988 VW Westfalia even more 😊 (we did custom design and built the interior ourselves). That being said, I am really impressed with the build Curt (Snow & Curt TH-cam) did with their Sprinter. I'm not saying I would want a Sprinter, but Curt's layout, thought process, and ingenuity are impressive. You guys should consider designing and building your own to fit your needs and wants - that would be a video (or twelve! twenty?) I would be watching 😀
Thanks for all the hard work and joy you put into these show videos. I am sure there’s a time consuming broad sweep before you cherry pick a handful to show us. ❤🙏👍🏼 C'mon Storyteller, show Bob & Hillary some love and I'm sure they'll give you a fair eval and spread some good Storyteller PR! . You may also learn a few things from these two in the process. 😊🙏
I just love you guys. I’m very happy when I watch your display of the vans you make it enjoyable to watch. God bless you too, and by the way, my name is Bob too.
If money was no object, I’d still choose our own DIY 170 Sprinter. Storytellers, like Revels, are waaaay too cramped, especially for two people. And why factory models include sinks in those tiny bathrooms, I’ll never understand.
Some of these vans seem awful narrow in the hallway area, which I do not like at all. I have a Thor Scope which feels very open for being on the small chassis
Oh gosh, really wish you’d review Coachmen products. Nova (Promaster), Beyond (Ford) and Galleria (Mercedes), each have 3 floor plans and pop tops. We compared Winnebago and Thor and Coachmen had outstanding quality and awesome Facebook groups. Customer service is gold standard. I’ve emailed 3 times with questions and received response within 1 business days
Thanks again for the great video. 👍So glad the beast mode has a stripe and some color. I am SO tired of white vans. The vans all look good, but I still think they are way over priced. I know every thing has had price major increases the past few years, but these are just over the top...no pun intended. Thanks again for your updates, safe travels.
For around the same price as that Storyteller, you could get a custom 170EXT Sprinter like ours. That's no deal in my book. Same with the Grech. For the price of the Grech we got a custom van with a huge bathroom - when we need it ( it expands for showers, contracts back small when you don't need it ). Built to our specifications.
I am a tad claustrophobic, so I prefer the rear bathrooms over the closed MRI machine tight squeeze I am absolutely gonna die sized ones. Great review!! I hope Storyteller gives y’all a chance to take one for a spin, and I hope Bob’s finger feels better soon! The show must go on! 🫣😉
The Grech is nice. It you want to save 10k though you can buy the Storyteller with the CANVAS package! Ooh. Biggest problem is that a 6’ man does not look comfortable in any of them.
I was hoping to run into you at the show! I went on Tuesday. I started out looking at Bs and then moved up to the B+. Going to go back again but earlier in the day. Too hot to see all the outside units!
For the 2023 Tiffin GH1 that's built on the Mercedes-Benz 2500 chassis, you have the wheelbase listed as 159", it's actually 144", but then you did say that it's the 144" wheelbase.
Just switch from Van to class C I just needed more room after 2 1/2 years camping in the Scope, retired now and taking longer trips. We got a Jayco Melbourne 24L full side slide out. Check them out !!!
Bob, you're in the new Solis Pocket, the 36B, which has a bed that can extend all the way over to the kitchen area. Can't imagine how that would work with getting up to the bathroom in the middle of the night! But if I were single person, that's the model I would get. Do you have a permanent sofa that can extend into an L-shaped lounge area by the seats. We currently have the 36A, the one with the lounge/dining area. We have it permanently made down into a lounge and I sleep there and my husband sleeps on the Murphy bed. It's tight, but it works. So that's why you have a seatbelt thing over there.
Love your videos!! I'm going to be a solo traveler. The travato gl seemed good for a solo person because the bed looked great for 1 but cramped for 2. But it seemed to have everything else I need. I would like to hear your opinion. Again thanks for sharing your videos.
I’ve been to the world fair flower Fairgrounds to look at all these same vans you people were in for the morning day one to me that’s pure junk. I would rather have a van built by a van craftsman could make more room out of his bill that all the van looked at All too small I was in everyone that you were in and I wouldn’t give you $.10 for them Keep your little lemon and save your money. Your husband can’t even fit in the shower or on the bed. The van is too small for you too. You have to go with a B+, but I enjoy watching you guys.
If money was no object, I'd be going for a Noovo Plus, haha! Are you guys going to be at the RV show in Phoenix in a couple of weeks? I think we're going to go just for something to do. I've seen so many Class B videos and Van Life videos at this point that I just want to see these things with my own eyes, now. But I don't think Noovo is going to be there.
Is it just me or did the first three seem TINY inside? The Travato is nice though, even if it reached out and bit him. But nothing is going to feel as spacious as that Noovo you tested!
Guarantee that outdoor shower rite inside the door on the Winnibago Solis is gonna leak water onto the floor. Its always gonna be wet around that area. In my opinion … not a good idea
I hope the 2 of you get a chance to test the new Storyteller, I just don't see it working for you. Too small and the roof is to low. Plus the price. Maybe try an butter Winnebago up to test the Sprekko for a trip. I can see the 2 of you owning that one.
I dunno guys. Unless it's the camera, why do these look so tight inside? They don't seem as roomy but again, could be the camera. That last one was really long. I really like the potty at the back of the vans though. If someone has to poo at least you could crack the back door. 🤣
@@Vancaskeys , I really love Solis. And Winnebago seems to have reliability above many. As a single guy traveling part time with my dad, I think it would be a wise choice . Thanks for your reply

As I watched it quickly became evident that today is a claustrophobic day. Hated all of them, felt hot and cramped. Of course the last one, you know the most expensive, well . . .

Yeah, in next week's video, we tour 4 Class B+ Rigs. :)

I thought the STO never discounts. How do you like that compared to the Revel especially in price?
Yep you pull out the seat to the kitchen and belts

We are in Germany every summer. A brand new van is about $75,000…something comparable in the USA is $130,000 Why?
Wow. I don’t know why. Sounds like buying a van is more cost effective in Germany.

Get the storyteller mode xo
Would love to test one out!
The solis would be Perfect if it was built on a ford transit 148
The prices at this show effectively ended my #vanlife dream. Absolutely ridiculous prices across the board!
Wow - that Tiffin has a tiny short bathroom. That's a hard no useability wise.
So...Tiffin was acquired by Thor in 2020. If the quality is not what you expect...mystery solved.
Why you become fan of power bed bob🤔
As I watched it quickly became evident that today is a claustrophobic day. Hated all of them, felt hot and cramped. Of course the last one, you know the most expensive, well . . .
Bob needs to satiate his curiosity and test out a Beast Mode @StorytellerOverland.
No 5k watts of lithium on that Solis Pocket.
Is it just me or does the Tiffin "dinette" look like an airline seat? Hmm
If he likes powerbeds now a Class A is about 2 years in the future. 🤪
I wouldn’t buy any because they’re too tight, I would like to see ones that are more open space like vanture customs
Can you show the cheapest , like 80,000 and less🤔
At this show $80 was the cheapest. But if we find any cheaper we will show them 😃
If the toilet 🚽 is in the same place as the shower 🚿…::…… how many rolls of toilet paper 🧻 do you get wet and loose per trip ? ? ?
🤔
#storyteller we would love to see VANCASKEYS drive your beast mode van and take us subscribers with them!
Woot! Woot! Thanks!
STORY TELLER
🤩🤩🤩
New Windows Covers is code for you need a new van right? Oh wait at that price (#Storyteller) Bob might have to take a second, maybe third job.
Hahahaha! I wish!
There isn't an universe where I see myself paying $120K + on a van.
