Wow Taylor, that's a lot of products and I'm sure you tried twice as many that didn't work. Thank you for doing all the hard work for us. Part of my problem is that occasionally it looks muddy, or more specifically like I have dirt on my face. I'm definitely checking out a few of these drugstore options.
Powder contor always looks muddy on me but I've found that foundation (or concealer) sticks that are just a few shades darker than my skin tone work great.
Nicole Manriquez You know I have one cream contour and it actually works really well but I always forget and put some sort of powder product on and I've tried putting it on over powder and it's awful. I know some people can put cream over powder but this didn't work at all. Thank you for sharing, I appreciate the help. Do you recommend a certain concealer?
I've been using the Elf eyebrow kit to contour with ever since you mentioned it in a few previous videos. Works very well. Contour colors are so very tricky for me as a light completed person. I literally never know if my contour looks good, or if it looks like dirt. lol. It always looks good to me though....I just don't know if other people agree. lol
you helped me embrace my pale almost translucent skin. in a culture that defines beauty in a very particular way it has gotten to me sometimes. i've heard it all "you should go out and get some sun"..."you look like a vampire" ... "i can see your leg veins" Taylor seeing you rock the fair look gives me confidence that "pale" can be beautiful and it always was.
just wanted to say how much I appreciate that you embrace your fair skin and that we never have to see you orange with streaky hands, lol if that's your thing, cool- but I just admire fair ladies who rock their natural color! it looks so timeless and porcelain❤❤❤
I agree, I'm learning to finally love and embrace my super pale cool toned skin, and her videos are so helpful because I also have the same hair and eye color as her so all her looks work for me!
I have the exact same color of your skin.. I’ve never felt comfortable in shorts or dresses or showing my skin. Thank you for being confident .. it definitely makes me love my pale skin
I'm so glad you haven't turned into an oompa loompa unlike the rest of TH-cam. And you use lighting, while of course improves the look of pores, texture etc (as all studio lights do) you haven't gone overboard to white out everything or use filters to make you look impossibly perfect. No one can look perfect. Love that you show us your makeup in natural lighting too! Agh I wish you were full time with daily uploads like Tati.
Before I even watch this I just need to say you changed my LIFE with your recommendation of the ELF eyebrow kit as a contour. It is sooo hard to find cool-toned contours at drugstore prices, and where I'm from there is little selection and fewer stores - It works so beautifully, and whilst I'm quite fair, I'm a tone or shade darker than you - So it really works for even my skin tone, not necessarily only very pale. I was so pleased and amazed.
YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER! I am extremely pale! And have never been able to find makeup for myself or looks that look good with my skin tone!! Your the best!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm in UK and it's 2am but felt like I couldn't wait till morning to watch this, your videos are very addictive and I've had so many great tips from them
The city color collection contour palette is my go to highlight and contour palette! I love it so freaking much. I'm like beyond fair and the whole bottom row is seriously perfect!
Thank you for helping me embrace my paleness! I always have a difficult time finding products that work with my pale skin and dark hair and your videos are always so helpful. Now, I receive compliments about my makeup thanks to you. ❤ Can't wait to see this makeup tutorial!
Was literally just complaining to my friends that I want to start contouring but can't figure out which products to use. Taylor always coming through! 💕
Eyebrow colours! What a fantastic idea!! I really struggle with contour colours as I'm as pale as you and most look orange on me. I've got lots of eyebrows Taup colours and I'm so gonna try this trick! Thank you Taylor I would have never thought of that! X
I love what you said about the NYX taupe because it's always my first thought for light contour, but it looks way too ashy on me and not the easiest to blend out.
My fave contour kit is the lunatics palette. It is expensive but totally worth it! SO pigmented and it's really good for mixing colours. Plus the packaging is frigging awesome!
My favorite is in the KVD Shade & Light Eye Palette-- the top row, middle pan Lazarus is perfect! I also use the top row peach shade as a blush sometimes, too!
I bought the Elf eyebrow from your recommendation. I was really unsure if i was going to like it. I just tried it and its super awesome! It blended really easily and looks natural. It makes such a huge difference. I have kevin aucoin contour powder in light coming in the mail, but may be returning cuz i like the elf product so much. I aslo just got IT cosmetic celebration powder and am liking it. Like u I struggle w/ loose powders looking weird on me. I have dry-very dry skin and am loving these new products.
I really enjoy the Inglot sculpting powder in 504 - very soft yet pigmented enough, builds and blends easily, nice neutral-cool tone. My mom loves it too :)
My favorite as well. One of the only light contour shades out there that has more of a pink-gray undertone rather than a yellow-brown undertone. I just can't work the yellow-brown ones no matter how light they are.
I was using the catrice product as you were talking about it lol.. And I saw the physicians formula one this weekend and almost bought it. Good to know they're similar!
i'm pale and i'm so glad i found you lol. you give great reviews and i actually trust what you're saying unlike other youtubers. i bought the dermacol foundation in the same color as you and i love it!
I used to use brow pencils that are way too light and reddish for my dark brown-black eyebrows until finally someone told me "why are your brows red?" 😂
I bought the loreal lumi primer and the physicians formula mineral correcting powder yesterday off your recommendations and so far I'm loving both items. Thank you for honesty and awesome reviews 😊
I use the lightest shade in the makeup revolution powder contour palette.. I love it! $15 US for three contour shades, two fair setting powders, three highlighters.
my new fave contour is the dont be afraid to dazzle highlight and contour combo from Tarte :) plus its on sale. only thing is the highlight is a little dark even tho the contour color is so light and perfect
Taylor you have NO IDEA how long I've been waiting for this video!!! I still haven't found a contour shade that doesn't look horrible on me, I can't wait to try some of these out. Thank you for being a lifesaver for pale princesses everywhere ❤️
Late to the game, but I'm NW10 at Mac with 2 drops of the white face and body foundation with warm undertones. I found that Mac's Omega eyeshadow works wonders for me. I also have loved "Baby don't go" as you mentioned! If you buy only the pan, it's $6!
The Tarte Double Duty Beauty Don't be afraid to dazzle highlight and contour palette is awesome for pale skin. $30 for huge pans. The highlight in the palette is really nice too.
The BH cosmetics Brow Trio in Medium also has a great contour shade. It's my favourite just after the elf brow powder! It's like a summer contour shade for me, because it's a bit more pigmented and more yellowish, which is great for (me) and for people with yellow undertone.
KA sculpting powder... In light (or medium if you're not straight white lol) Can't believe you didn't mention!! It's one of the top 5 high end products I buy again and again. So easy to blend out and not too pigmented, but if you get too much it's easy to blend away with powder or something, love it.
HeyImValarie18 I use it too! Pretty expensive though ($63 in Australia) so I'm kind of keen to try some of these ones in case they work as well (kind of dubious if they will look as good but for the price it's worth a go)
erin983589 yeah! I think it's definitely awesome to have lower cost options as well! There's a couple eyeshadows I used to use and love also, but I just love the KA because it blends out so so great!
I'm about 1-2 shades darker than here, and I really like the darkest shade in the elf contour pallet. It's a super cool toned shade, which is great for me, since anything that is slightly warm seems to look orange on my skin.
It's amazing how many you found! I really like the grey side of fair contour, as I'm very cool toned and I love NYX Taupe, Kevyn Accoin Sculpting Powder in medium, Sephora Tranquil, Warm Taupe from ABH MR Palette and Divine from the Limecrime Venus pallette.
I love your videos so much. Pale girls unite!! 😂 No really, your videos save me so much hassle when buying makeup. I am not quite as pale as you but I am a neutral toned Fair/Light complexion and every product you like works for me. Thank you so much for being you and keep being amazing. Much love!
taylor -- please do your video about foundation lighteners!! there's absolutely nothing (of substance) on youtube about it and i know you will kill it! i have a dozen high end foundations i LOVE and literally none of them match me right now, i'm dying! i also can't get over that cover fx hasn't come out with lighteners/darkeners yet given that they really branded the drop concept. recently i purchased the sephora aerosol foundation one in cream wondering if i could use as a mixer but am now thinking it may cause foundations to separate since it's oil free ----specifically with the dior air flash in lightest shade 100 (which i love and is it so good for sad winter skin!) i know i can count on you to let a girl know! love your channel, keep on keeping it real, it's working!!! xx sincerely, a fellow pale princess p.s. this is my first ever youtube comment
I tend not to contour too much or i use light bronzer to contour since im more warmed tone it works . But thanks for all the swatches it is so hard to find products pale enough but i know i can count on you for some great advice 💕
Fiona stiles is another good one. I am pale with cool undertones (I could almost use a white foundation, lol) and i use it everyday bc of the color, how well they blend, and how buildable they are.
I just tried the elf eyebrow kit and it works amazingly! I used to use a cool toned bobbi brown eyeshadow, but I was running out, and oddly it wasn't as cool toned as I remember it being. Got the elf one and it works so much better! Plus it's 1/10 of the price compared to bobbi brown. I only hope they'll actually make the eyebrow kit into a contour shade and put more in the pan.
i love watching you so much! I'm also pale with acne scars and you're the person I go to for foundation recommendations. I love your honesty and sass. you're amazing! :))
the inglot 504 sculpting powder is my absolute favorite, but it's $15 a pan, so i usually just use nyx taupe. i'm definitely going to check out the elf eyebrow kit!
The KvD Shade + Light eye palette has my most used contour shade which is Lazarus. I would say I'm the same skin tone as Taylor, if not lighter & I love how Lazarus looks as a contour - definitely something to check out, especially for those that already own that palette.
Taylor! You have to try the Lunatick Labs Contour Book! It has grey contour shades and while it might seem scary, on fair skin it creates such a pretty and sharp natural shadow! It's talc free and the powders are so soft! You also get 4 blushes, some bronzing shades, a pure white powder and a white/yellow shade. It's so amazing, definitely my HG. 💕 also if you didn't wanna splurge on the full palette they sell single pans for $12. I would love to see your thoughts on it. 😍
I have never been so early in my entire life. I am at work but just snuck in the bathroom to watch this , that's how much I love your content! I have horrible acne too & its so hard. You are such an inspiration to me Tay! Since I started watching your videos I have so much more confidence. Thank you for being you. You are beautiful inside & out. 💄👑 #baeritofam
Amazing... I am glad I held on to my Elf eyebrow kit because it didn't work for me as a brow product. BUT, it looks fantastic as a contour shade. (The perfect color for me!) I'm so glad I didn't declutter it!
I used to love NYX Blush in Taupe too but converted to ELF Contour Palette because for the same amount of money you get highlighters, under eye setting powder, bronzer & contour powder ❤️
Have you tried the fiona stiles sheer sculpting palette?! I have extremely fair skin, and that palette is my all time favorite for contouring. The shades are absolute perfection. I've tried so many other products. None work for me.
I've got a fair/light complexion (I use Vanilla in the Too Faced Born This Way foundation) and I use taupe by NYX. I haven't tried any of the other ones you've mentioned, but I think I'm going to try the eyebrow kit from ELF!
I have the elf, nyx and catrice! love them all and I don't really think that I need a high end one since you're reaching the affordable brand the most!
NYX Brow Pomade in Blonde is a fantastic pale skin contour! Long lasting and being a cream product, I think ultimately it is more natural on the skin! You should give it a try!
Some unique colors I've used have been from indie companies. I love Shirocosmetics contour in "Do your research" and "Burn the Heart out of you". They are grey and purpleish so they might not be everyone's cup of tea. Also, Lunatick Cosmetics labs contour book, same deal
I'm a pale princess and i'd like to recommend the Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte bronzer in the shade Park Ave Princess. It is nice and cool toned and blends like a dream. This shade was definitely made for us fair gals. ❤👍
If you have an Inglot store anywhere near you must check it out, they have their 'HD Sculpting Powders' which come in several shades....for pale to light skin contouring go for shades 504 (similar to nyx taupe, cool toned), 505 (dupe for Kevyn Aucoin sculpting powder in medium) or 506 (has pink undertones, for the fairest skintone). Or you can just buy a stick foundation that's 2 or 3 shades darker than your skin color, this actually works really well especially if you prefer cream products.
In think I will have to give the elf and mua a try. I never thought to use them because they look brown in the pan. But for the price and how often I contour, I'm going to try!

I know some people can put cream over powder but this didn't work at all. Thank you for sharing, I appreciate the help. Do you recommend a certain concealer?
Amy Louwho I have that same problem!! I thought it was the brush I was using but I got some new ones and still struggle 😩
+Amy Louwho thank you for recognizing that! I definitely have a pile of about 20 that didn't work haha. Hope some of them work for you :)
Amy Louwho CB cx. SZzzZZZZzzzAaqa😫😍😍😩🇬🇶❌❌❌🇧🇷🇨🇴🚸♊️🚮
Can you please do a video on your favorite bronzers! I can't find a good bronzer for my skin all the ones I find I feel make my face too orange!
Physician formula butter bronzer in light works well on me and I'm almost as pale as Taylor.
Abby McIntyre I like the body shop one :)
Abby McIntyre benefit hoola bronzer!
I like milk chocolate solei - I feel like I can do more than a tint wash and actually bronze without looking stupid.
The milk chocolate solei is a perf bronzer! As well as the Physician's Formula Butter Bronzer in light.
I've been using the Elf eyebrow kit to contour with ever since you mentioned it in a few previous videos. Works very well. Contour colors are so very tricky for me as a light completed person. I literally never know if my contour looks good, or if it looks like dirt. lol. It always looks good to me though....I just don't know if other people agree. lol
Amanda Nicole hey, can we use elf eyebrow kit in medium for pale skin contour?
you helped me embrace my pale almost translucent skin. in a culture that defines beauty in a very particular way it has gotten to me sometimes. i've heard it all "you should go out and get some sun"..."you look like a vampire" ... "i can see your leg veins"

if that's your thing, cool- but I just admire fair ladies who rock their natural color! it looks so timeless and porcelain❤❤❤
Courtney Love
so many times I have contemplated getting a tan cuz I feel so pail at times and some1 even told me that I look ill because of my skin tone... thanks .
I agree, I'm learning to finally love and embrace my super pale cool toned skin, and her videos are so helpful because I also have the same hair and eye color as her so all her looks work for me!
She does now..

I was so stressed out and on the brink of tears and then this showed up as a notification and i smiled for the first time today. Thank you Taylor. ❤
Before I even watch this I just need to say you changed my LIFE with your recommendation of the ELF eyebrow kit as a contour. I'm in UK and it's 2am but felt like I couldn't wait till morning to watch this, your videos are very addictive and I've had so many great tips from them
Sephora brand contour powder in "tranquil" is a super cool toned taupe, like almost gray but not quite. I love it, and I'm ghastly pale
The city color collection contour palette is my go to highlight and contour palette! I love it so freaking much. I'm like beyond fair and the whole bottom row is seriously perfect!
I was using the elf brow kit for contour for awhile like a year ago when I forgot my contour powder when traveling! I love it!
Thank you! I just bough the elf brow duo, and i finally have a contour that doesn't look strange on me!!! Its perfect!!
So glad you covered this! I've been searching everywhere for a good contour for my pale skin and I never would have thought to look at brow products!
I use the Catrice one and I love it so much, it looks so natural.
Eyebrow colours! What a fantastic idea!! I really struggle with contour colours as I'm as pale as you and most look orange on me. I've got lots of eyebrows Taup colours and I'm so gonna try this trick! Thank you Taylor I would have never thought of that! X
I love what you said about the NYX taupe because it's always my first thought for light contour, but it looks way too ashy on me and not the easiest to blend out.
loved this video. I have a hard time contouring. I have a hard time picking out contour. this video really helped . thank-you
My fave contour kit is the lunatics palette. It is expensive but totally worth it! SO pigmented and it's really good for mixing colours. Plus the packaging is frigging awesome!
i used to use the elf brow powder all the time, i loved it
I have done the eyebrow powder for years. really good. also use powders, foundations etc that are too dark and works too.
I've been waiting for this!!! So EXCITED! contour is the one of the things I have the most trouble with having pale skin
I love to use the brown in the little NYX color correcting concealer palette
I really enjoy the Inglot sculpting powder in 504 - very soft yet pigmented enough, builds and blends easily, nice neutral-cool tone. My mom loves it too :)
Lauren W I second this! My favourite contour by far :)
My favorite as well. One of the only light contour shades out there that has more of a pink-gray undertone rather than a yellow-brown undertone. I just can't work the yellow-brown ones no matter how light they are.
The undertone is so good! Plus it's pretty affordable and the pan is a great size.
Yes!! So excited for this video. I was using a contour that was much to dark for me until you mentioned about the ELF eyebrow kit. Mind blown!!!
I'm super super pale and i bought the Anastasia Foundation Stick in Fawn and i love it.
I use the lightest shade in the makeup revolution powder contour palette.. I love it! $15 US for three contour shades, two fair setting powders, three highlighters.
my new fave contour is the dont be afraid to dazzle highlight and contour combo from Tarte :) plus its on sale. only thing is the highlight is a little dark even tho the contour color is so light and perfect
it looks a lot like the elf eyebrow shade
Kristina Robinson Don't be afraid to Dazzle is awesome! It's limited edition so I made sure to buy a backup, it's perfect for my fair complexion.
Taylor you have NO IDEA how long I've been waiting for this video!!! I still haven't found a contour shade that doesn't look horrible on me, I can't wait to try some of these out. Thank you for being a lifesaver for pale princesses everywhere ❤️
thanks for putting this up! Definitely will try some of these out
Late to the game, but I'm NW10 at Mac with 2 drops of the white face and body foundation with warm undertones. I found that Mac's Omega eyeshadow works wonders for me. I also have loved "Baby don't go" as you mentioned! If you buy only the pan, it's $6!
I own that elf brow kit. never thought about trying it for contour but I will be now!
I just got the Jordana Sculpt n Go stick and it's incredible. You have to try it! Thank your continued effort for us pale girls 😘
Much love!
taylor -- please do your video about foundation lighteners!! there's absolutely nothing (of substance) on youtube about it and i know you will kill it! i have a dozen high end foundations i LOVE and literally none of them match me right now, i'm dying! i also can't get over that cover fx hasn't come out with lighteners/darkeners yet given that they really branded the drop concept.
recently i purchased the sephora aerosol foundation one in cream wondering if i could use as a mixer but am now thinking it may cause foundations to separate since it's oil free ----specifically with the dior air flash in lightest shade 100 (which i love and is it so good for sad winter skin!) i know i can count on you to let a girl know!
love your channel, keep on keeping it real, it's working!!! xx
sincerely,
a fellow pale princess
p.s. this is my first ever youtube comment
omg i've always used the powder in my elf eyebrow kit too.. it's bomb
I use the KVD contour palette and it works well for my skin, but I've been wanting to get new ones and this video helped so much! Thank you!!!
Great video! I've been using Essence - The Velvets eyeshadow in Taupe Secret and love it for contouring.
Thank you for this video! Very helpful. I am looking forward to your Wednesday video for this make up look... so beautiful.
I tend not to contour too much or i use light bronzer to contour since im more warmed tone it works . But thanks for all the swatches it is so hard to find products pale enough but i know i can count on you for some great advice 💕
omg the video we've all been waiting for!! thank you taylor!
you're amazing for posting this fair complexion and contour kits normally don't jive but these look awesome (i only knew of nyx)
I love your videos! I've been embracing my fair skin and your videos help me so much. Thank you!!
Fiona stiles is another good one. I am pale with cool undertones (I could almost use a white foundation, lol) and i use it everyday bc of the color, how well they blend, and how buildable they are.
the loreal one works really well with my elf small stipple brush! i havent used it much since i got my abh palette but its an old favourite
I love that you have so many for us pale gals!!
I started using the elf eyebrow kit on your recommendation awhile ago and it works great on me as well😀
Thank you for doing this! I have not had luck with contour shades!

Hannah Wiley I have been coveting that pallet for ages!
is there an update on this? I would like to see an updated version. I have used the physicians formula and im so in love with it.
YES FINALLY!! Also I had a horrible day today and just wanted to thank you for doing all you do for us!
Also Snapfam
yesss I seriously was looking for this kind of video today and wishing you'd cover it ahhh yess
Have you tried the fiona stiles sheer sculpting palette?! I have extremely fair skin, and that palette is my all time favorite for contouring. The shades are absolute perfection. I've tried so many other products. None work for me.
Don't even have fair skin but I could never not watch a video of yours lol. Love your channel 💕
+hsaadah6 haha thanks girl 💙
hsaadah6 lol me too!
haha same! except this video did help just to follow as rule of thumb for shades since my contour is ashy at times
haha same! except this video did help just to follow as rule of thumb for shades since my contour is ashy at time
hsaadah6 same 😅
I HAVE WAITED MY WHOLE LIFE FOR THIS VIDEO I LOVE YOUUUU
The IT Cosmetics one used to be my favorite! But Bahama Mama by The Balm has REALLY been working for me!
I would love for you to try the Diorskin Forever Foundation. I have combo skin and I'm obsessed!
been looking forward to this for months!!
NYX Brow Pomade in Blonde is a fantastic pale skin contour! Long lasting and being a cream product, I think ultimately it is more natural on the skin! You should give it a try!
Thanks so much! This was really helpful.
What mascara are you wearing? Your lashes look fabulous!
Mz. Kay Marie they look kinda like natural falsies to me
Mz. Kay Marie They're falsies.
Some unique colors I've used have been from indie companies. I love Shirocosmetics contour in "Do your research" and "Burn the Heart out of you". They are grey and purpleish so they might not be everyone's cup of tea. Also, Lunatick Cosmetics labs contour book, same deal
Thanks so much for this, I have a lot of trouble finding a good Contour shade for my pale skin
Dying for that lipstick color on you!! it looks amazing
Yay for Pale skin!!! Sooo glad you did this video!!!! 😉 That lip color is gorgeous on you!!!! And what is that nail color??
Oh my gosh! I never thought of using my elf eyebrow kit!! Genius!!
I needed this! I searched this a while ago but couldn't find any good videos so was so happy when I saw this in my subscriptions!!!💙
I really want a chatty hidden drugstore makeup! I loved that video
I'm a pale princess and i'd like to recommend the Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte bronzer in the shade Park Ave Princess. It is nice and cool toned and blends like a dream. This shade was definitely made for us fair gals. ❤👍
You are my favorite youtuber! I really enjoy watching every video that comes up :) xx!
The Fiona Stiles bronzing sun veil in Ahiko is also really good for fair skin. I just recently tried it and I absolutely love it :)
This is so helpful, thank you so much!!!
In think I will have to give the elf and mua a try. I never thought to use them because they look brown in the pan. But for the price and how often I contour, I'm going to try!
shouts to your nail polish colour for fitting in with the theme! thanks for this vid!
Essence Matte bronzer in light works great for me
New subscriber here, just wanted to say I have very fair and acne prone skin and I am SO glad I found your channel!!!
