    I love how you played Bobbie's Mariner Valley scene in reverse, and it still works as a scene; The augmented view fades, revealing the reality, she looks down at the dust, and drops a handful of dead rock back where it came from. Not sure if you intended for it to work but I'm surprised it did.

    9:04 This is the Ring builder ship yard thing growing a new ship. Its called The Heart of the Tempest and is Magnetar class cruiser used by the Laconians in the next story arc. It would have had a big role to play had they done a seventh season/movie.

    • @matthew90276
      @matthew90276 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Ring Builders didn't physically build their ships they grew them. Duarte knew he struck gold with Laconia which is why he heavily mined the gate and kept to himself for decades while they exploited the technology available to them.

    • @spacecadet2172

      Incorrect. The partially completed ship shown there is an incomplete gatebuilder ship, which the laconiams eventually fashioned into the proteus. The construction of the magnetars didn’t even begin until at least a decade later, if not more

      With the third Magnetar class cruiser being completed roughly 30 years after this scene its unlikely that its one of those. Laconia was building quite a few more destroyers and stuff before the magnetar cruisers went into production.

    They are shipyards. And the one of the two or three shipyards had a half built ship. The spiral, coil like thing was the shipyard and the uprooted tree like thing in the center is the ship which the Laconians use a main battle cruiser, the first through the Ring, but for all we know, Builders might have used it to make moons or turn white dwarf stars into stellar-mass planet sized diamond computer servers.

      In the books, when Bobby took out the generator, the Ring Station retaliated by disabling all of the rail-guns. And if I remember rightly, also everyone’s weapons on the station and Bobby’s power armor.

    • @spacecadet2172
      @spacecadet2172 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@eds1942That’s not accurate. In the books, the rail guns were all disabled by Bobbie flying a ship kamikaze into the single reactor. The resulting explosion of the reactor also severely damaged the metal loops wrapped around the station, which the railguns were mounted to. The Ring Station did not retaliate in any way, other than change colour a few times. In fact, the ring station has never retaliated in any way since ProtoMiller shut down the security state in Abaddon’s Gate, other than to exhaust excess energy out the ring gates, which is its normal functionality. Not even when it was directly hit with the USM Field Projector, nor a gamma ray burst from a star collapsing into a black hole, which was powerful enough to completely obliterate two entire gates. None of the people’s weapons were disabled, and Bobbie, Amos and the strike teams had to fight hard for many more hours to get the Laconians guarding the railgun emplacements to surrender, with loss of life on both sides. No idea where you are getting your information from.

    • @spacecadet2172
      @spacecadet2172 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Laconia conquered Sol in Book 7, not the last book. Long story short they had access to incredibly powerful gate-builder technology, tech that the Sol powers foolishly (to the point of being a huge plot hole, honestly) did not consider to be that big a threat, despite all evidence to the contrary. This technology was so powerful that one single laconian ship was able to easily defeat *three thousand* of the the best ships of the Sol and Transport Union forces, including 3 city ships which were the size of an entire city and the most powerful ships ever constructed (outside of Laconia). They also had a death star-like weapon (in fact more similar to the MD Device in Ender’s Game), that could completely obliterate an entire planet in a single shot, destroying the very molecular bonds that hold atoms together. They even were in possession of technology that could resurrect human beings from the dead, as well as grant immortality and near invulnerability to human beings. So it was quite hard for Sol to match up to that, especially as they had spent the last 30 years rebuilding Earth, after Marko and Phillip genocided the majority of all human beings in the universe, and the resultant ecological collapse on Earth after suffering not one but three Extinction Level Events.
