thanks for putting out awesome content as always, I just wanted to say thanks man because you have inspired me to change my life I know that seems a bit weird to get that kind of inspiration from watching mtb videos haha, but after finding your channel and literally watching every video. all I want to do is to do good be a better person and ride hard!! again thanks for the inspiration .
Thanks Mike! I don't think that is weird at all... I personally find that incredibly motivated to hear that all of the hard work I put into these videos has a real impact on someone. So thanks for sharing man, oh, and LIVE FREE, RIDE HARD, GET STOKED!!
That was pretty rad, glad to see you still brining the "STOKE" and I can't wait to see what the MTB Nomad (akaThe Single Track Sampler) has in store for all of us. Like I always say Bro, Live-Life-Loud!!!
Had to watch this again. It was cool to ride Burnt Mountain and Big Rock this past weekend and recognize the trail from your video. That down at Burnt Mountain around the 6:40 mark is definitely pretty sketchy wet. I was off my bike more than on it.
Awesome video Alex, Glad you got your target as well. That trail looks sick man. your videos get me so stoked for my next ride on my bike. keep up the great work!!!!!
I rode DuPont for three days last weekend. The last ride was Big Rock. It was a blast. That climb to get up there is brutal but the view was awesome. I was chuckling as I heard your hard breathing because I was doing the same. Haha. The only negative is that it is not marked well.
the blunt rock on the downhill part is where i crashed. I'm still waiting on my redemption ride to where i either just huck it or choose your preferred line
Yo, alex im traveling to ashville next week im gonna shed those trails, so stoked to ride trails that are not from florida. I can finally get some speed‼️✅
Good stuff! It's so cool seeing what others around the country ride as their home trails, which most times is nothing like what I see in SoCal. That slick rock stuff is a trip...... Hey, while you're in Asheville, maybe you could hook up with Industry 9 and do a quick 'factory tour"? Just a thought as I haven't seen anything like that yet.
Awesome! Let me know when you planned on touring the northern IL and WI. We can go to the John Muir Kettle Moraine trails, Levis and other trails in the IL/WI area.
Seen this video once but was more fun to watch today as I just rode all this today so I recognized everything but did not hit anything as fast as you did!! The first time I watched this the climb looked so easy and then I did it today and just about died! 😂 but it was alllll worth it!
Alex, thanks for an updated video! Great content! Look forward to continuing the summer! If you get back to NorthWest Arkansas I'd gladly put you up in a hotel to help you out for a few nights!
Thanks David! Man that sounds amazing! I actually will probably be coming through there on my way out to CO this year, so stay in touch man. Obviously we would have to get out and ride too...
Rode this trail yesterday for the first time. That burly section at the end doesn’t look like that anymore. It’s much burlier, looks really washed out from all the rain.
So much great technical rock riding in PA, rode Swatara, Rothrock, Allegrippis before and after the trail system, Loyalsock State Forest, Bald Eagle State Forest, and still have so many places yet to go. PA has so much to offer, and it seems to be ignored, the most underrated trails on the east coast really, and it's best kept secret.
You should try all 3 trails down from Big Rock Cedar Rock junction they are all very different but all very fun!! Worth riding up 3 times. Different climbs ar cool also.
Cool video! Riding that with wet rocks is a whole different level of risk, so props for the "wet shred." That trail looks like a blast....sort of like Moab with all the drops and rocks. That tire burp was NUTS! From what I can tell, the EVO gimbal follows a little faster than the Feiyu Tech, but outside of that I don't see a lot of difference. One thing I've noticed from everyone's footage lately is that it's off center to the left. I'm guessing it's because you guys are centering the chesty, but then the lens is off just a little since it's not in the middle of the camera. It's not a big deal, but you might try "scooching" the chesty mount over to the right a little so that the camera lens is centered. It would help my OCD. :-) Cool to see you back on the trail!
Just picked up my new bike...... thanks to a little bit of influence from The Singletrack Sampler....... 2017 Specialized Enduro 29uurrrrr! She's a big beast!
Hey ma I'm a local and love that trail my other favorite to play around with is Jim branch followed up by ridge line.... idk if you've done it cuz I'm a new sub but you should go hit the trails by fawn lake, the water fall over there is where last of the mohicans was filmed it's a beautiful spot and an awesome RIDE!!! love your vids I'm gonna be watching a lot more!
I actually don't think so Brian. I have been still so much this year already that I think I will probably stay on the move pretty consistently the rest of the season, at least until the winter
Hey, Alex! I see you've been progressing pretty well with your manuals. Could you do a how to? Also, loved the redemption series and just subscribed! Keep up the good work!
+Nikhil Naren thanks dude and welcome to the channel!! I don't actually feel like I have a good enough group on the manuals to do an in depth tutorial... YET
Thank you for the quick reply and info. Since I have a plus size bike/tires (Specialized Stumpjumper) I can only safely go down to 2.6" tires. So I think I may hold out to get the Minions DHF & DHR II in 2.6". But the latter does not go on sale until later this year. The other rear tire option may be the Rekon in the same size. Too many choices...ahhh!!!!
Awesome riding bro's cant wait to visit those trails. I have a 2019 Specialized Rockhopper hardtail, how are the bike rental there? or will I be ok will my bike? I'm a seasoned rider and I enjoy riding techy gnarl, and XC, have not done a lot of downhill riding.
alex, im new in biking. i observed that your friend paul was almost standing on his bike most of the time. ive been to trails just few times and still learning. is it essential to stand most of the time? because i often dont stand.
Hey! It's often more efficient to stand up on the pedals when going over the rougher terrain. Not only do you lower your center of gravity, but you also become more nimble as you are not attached to the bike via seat. Get comfortable with standing on the pedals and keeping them even to start, then try coasting downhill to practice!
thanks. i'll take that advice. by the way, your rides looks fun and easy. i just run through my first green trail last saturday and it scares me to the bones. but i will definitely comeback there.
Cool video, as always, Alex. Nice job on those technical sections, man! I was rooting for you. Congratulations on the new gimbal! I hope it serves you well for a long time. Did you purchase the extended warranty and accidental damage protection? It looked like a worthy extra considering the use this will get. I'd most likely get that if I ever buy a gimbal. Was your friend camera shy at first? I got the impression that he was either kind of grumpy or bothered by something in all the scenes until you'd left the parking lot. I was totally surprised to hear him singing later in the video, hahaha. I was like "is that the same dude?" Ah, the wonders that a MTB ride can do to your spirit, LOL! Cheers, man!
Another question for you that just popped in my head..... Alex, have you ever ridden clips in you mtb career, and if so, why did you revert back to flats?
I have actually Steve! I rode mostly clipped until about 2 years ago when I started to really work on my skills - I changed to flats and it really gave me the confidence I needed to work on stuff like manuals and jumps. Then I found that I really liked it so I just never looked back!
Did you mention those noises when there is much movement in the video? Like a vibrating brake rotor far away? It sounds like your gimbals motors... But louder. Sorry :D
I love your videos dude, you and Brian have made me take this shit more seriously. Keep making the awesome content. I'm off to Patreon to sponsor you. Come to Scotland and try the trails here.
Hey Sean! Thank you so much bro 👊 Mannnn Brian and I actually talked a briefly about Scotland during a drive and how much we would love to come do some backcountry exploration rides there. I have seen some vids, and it looks absolutely stunning.
That's awesome to hear, there are some great places here, I am new to the sport but the love for riding that you, BKXC, Seth and others have is infectious and encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. You should try and come over in time for the DHWC at Fort WIlliam next year.
LIVE STREAM TONIGHT @10pm EST - I'll be answering any and all questions about the Redemption Road trip!!
The Singletrack Sampler where did u get the money for your bike
oh boy
You always know the steepness isnt conveyed on the video. I rode this a few days ago and your monologue... hilarious. I was dying on some parts
It's so much fun to come back and watch this after riding it!
My grandparents live near Asheville and I now make it a point to go to Dupont every time I visit. such a beautiful place.
Live there can cobfirm
You guys went your SEPARATE WAYS on your JOURNERY... get it? It has begun! Shang Tsung approves.
Loving the Asheville coverage! Now I can actually ride something you've ridden instead of living vicariously through your posts. Keep it up!
haha man Asheville has got so much goodness
Ikr? I'm hoping for a Bent Creek reboot with actual trail coverage, particularly GL and IFG.
thanks for putting out awesome content as always, I just wanted to say thanks man because you have inspired me to change my life I know that seems a bit weird to get that kind of inspiration from watching mtb videos haha, but after finding your channel and literally watching every video. all I want to do is to do good be a better person and ride hard!! again thanks for the inspiration .

LIVE FREE, RIDE HARD, GET STOKED!!
Another great video Alex! I'm still envious of the amount of freedom you have sir.
Rule #1, don't get married or have kids

+Fosty SnoMan Huck yea homie!!!
Big shout out from Costa Rica, just came from my ride and saw you uploaded new video ! stoked to watch, love your channel man !!
Yeaaaa man! Thanks dude, great post ride entertainment :D
That was pretty rad, glad to see you still brining the "STOKE" and I can't wait to see what the MTB Nomad (akaThe Single Track Sampler) has in store for all of us. Like I always say Bro, Live-Life-Loud!!!
Did you ever doubt the stoke? (ok, maybe in that one video lol) BUT it's here to stay!
Love watching the trail rides in the green forests. We don't have much of that here in Southern California.
+The Mountain Biking Viking it's amazing the difference from place to place. I definitely miss the green of WNC when away
You haven't ridden wet and slick until you've ridden Wales dude. And the mud ...!
Thanks for the awesome vids.
Love watching you ride! You have so much fun. Some people take it too seriously.
Preach brotha 👐
Had to watch this again. It was cool to ride Burnt Mountain and Big Rock this past weekend and recognize the trail from your video. That down at Burnt Mountain around the 6:40 mark is definitely pretty sketchy wet. I was off my bike more than on it.
Awesome video Alex, Glad you got your target as well. That trail looks sick man. your videos get me so stoked for my next ride on my bike. keep up the great work!!!!!
Thanks Matt! Stoked to hear you get out and ride after watching man!
Man I love this channel!!! Looking forward to all your new adventures!
+Edwardlewis18 yeewwww! So many more to come 🤘
I rode DuPont for three days last weekend. The last ride was Big Rock. It was a blast. That climb to get up there is brutal but the view was awesome. I was chuckling as I heard your hard breathing because I was doing the same. Haha. The only negative is that it is not marked well.
I just did that same ride on my birthday! It was recommended by James at Squatches bikes and brews. It was so good!
Solid rock trail in the middle of the forest 🌳 crazy
Dude right?! So cool
Very entertaining! Can't get enough.
Thanks for the shoutout brochacho!
Yeh buddy! I need to get me some state side riding action. As long as you can put gas in the tank you have places to ride! So cool what you do!
Yea dude for real, unlimited riding here!
Love this one. Just rode it a couple months ago for the first time!
Dude, we just found that Biscuithead last time we were in Asheville!!!! SOOOOOO GOOD
the blunt rock on the downhill part is where i crashed. I'm still waiting on my redemption ride to where i either just huck it or choose your preferred line
Thats a tricky spot isn't it? I think I generally hop it, but I came in too fast that time for sure
I crashed near there as well.
Love the clothing changes at the beginning! 😁
Yo, alex im traveling to ashville next week im gonna shed those trails, so stoked to ride trails that are not from florida. I can finally get some speed‼️✅
Where did you go we are going up to NC to ride also but cant decide on what trails
Always good to start a day with the sampler!
+Magnifire Huck yes man get that Sunday started right! 👊🤘🚵
Brian and I thought about that during a rainy day on the road trip actually. Still considering it
Cool.... You can probably guess what wheelset I run. 45 min until the Live Stream!
Awesome!
Let me know when you planned on touring the northern IL and WI. We can go to the John Muir Kettle Moraine trails, Levis and other trails in the IL/WI area.
Awesome video man, love the new feel. Your manuals are sick by the way.
Yooo thanks Kevin! I've really been digging this style too - think I'll keep it up. Working hard on those mannies, so appreciate that man!
Woah yeah! The Gimbal really is awesome! I just asked about it in the live stream. I'll save the link to get it asap. Thanks!
+Adam Demas Huck yea bro!!
That's a sweet rock trail, a little bit of Moab in the east.
Seen this video once but was more fun to watch today as I just rode all this today so I recognized everything but did not hit anything as fast as you did!! The first time I watched this the climb looked so easy and then I did it today and just about died! 😂 but it was alllll worth it!

The Singletrack Sampler Absolutely! I'll be around following the VLog.
Rode this for the first time last week, GoPro effect is real! Some of that stuff was WILD!
The type of scenery your riding in here is very typical for Norway very , feels like home
Rode this trail yesterday for the first time. That burly section at the end doesn’t look like that anymore. It’s much burlier, looks really washed out from all the rain.
Ride any trails in PA? I live central Pa north of Harrisburg. I ride Rattling Creek in Lykens, PA and Swatara State Park, PA.
Drake Lenker he needs to go ride up at Roth rock state park or go ride at Rays town!!! We need some attention in pa, we have some awesome trails here!
I ride swatara a good bit! Mostly Rocky Ridge in York though
So much great technical rock riding in PA, rode Swatara, Rothrock, Allegrippis before and after the trail system, Loyalsock State Forest, Bald Eagle State Forest, and still have so many places yet to go. Sick video as always Alex. It must be awesome to be a full time rider I'd love it!!
+Progress Bee Bicycle's thanks dude!!!
Cool video! Riding that with wet rocks is a whole different level of risk, so props for the "wet shred." That trail looks like a blast....sort of like Moab with all the drops and rocks. That tire burp was NUTS!

Cool to see you back on the trail!
I think you may be right on that dude, I'm going to take a look next time I strap up
took Jr out this morning to the local forest after watching one of your episodes last night. all I could hear was "commin' in hot!"
+Thomas Anderson hahahaha that's priceless
Video footage is sick!
Can you do a review on your bike?
Vonkhar Tubat I think made one a while back
Looks like there's a different front tire??

What are the trails you used to get to the awesome view at the end?
Looking forward to see where you go to next. You think you'll settle down for a bit like you did with Salida?
I actually don't think so Brian. I have been still so much this year already that I think I will probably stay on the move pretty consistently the rest of the season, at least until the winter
Chop Suey by System of a Down is the song you're referring too.
YES! How could I forget that lol
The Singletrack Sampler We are all human
Hey, Alex! I see you've been progressing pretty well with your manuals. Could you do a how to? Also, loved the redemption series and just subscribed! Keep up the good work!

Damn that looks like fun!
Alex, great ride, my friend. Hey, I am looking to get new tires for my bike and I was wondering what you are using on your Enduro.
Hey dude, this is what I'm rocking in the front: amzn.to/2sRqgAV
and this is what I will soon rock in the back: amzn.to/2rRQDVT
Thank you for the quick reply and info. Since I have a plus size bike/tires (Specialized Stumpjumper) I can only safely go down to 2.6" tires. sick video, shame you couldn't get to whistler but stoked for more road tripping
Yea, but I know I'll get there eventually!
I see you living in Seth's house right now.
+JKube 2 house crashing
That downhill on Burnt Mountain is 100 times gnarlier than it looks.
For real, looks completely flat on camera
Delicious trail!
Hell yea brother, shred on!!!!
Great ride!!
Love the acting at the beginning bro :')

Damn what a beautiful day that was.
Paul didn't seem too stoked waiting in the parking lot, but a bit of free living and hard riding turned that around by the end.
I knew it would

+Jobbie King that's what I love to hear man! After work ride?

Great vid again bro. Cheers from singapore👍
Hey Alex, loving the videos. When are you going to ride Farlow?
Oooh I really need to go ride it, but I may wait for Seth to take him too
What tyres are you running and are you satisfied with riding them?
Cool video, as always, Alex. Nice job on those technical sections, man! I was rooting for you.
Congratulations on the new gimbal! I hope it serves you well for a long time. Did you purchase the extended warranty and accidental damage protection? It looked like a worthy extra considering the use this will get. I'd most likely get that if I ever buy a gimbal.

Come and ride in Missouri (Chubb, Lost Valley, Zombie and Greensfelder)
that looks like fun
Alex what should i buy a trek top fuel 9.8 or specialized Epic FSR Expert Carbon World Cup? Both are 2017 models.
thanks Patreon supporters!
Another question for you that just popped in my head..... Alex, have you ever ridden clips in you mtb career, and if so, why did you revert back to flats?

Bring it on Alex!!!
Yewwwwww!
Cool special effects in the beginning lol. Get a new front tire?
+Dan K haha hey I try!!
Great content and keep the dream alive! Love Big Rock content! #LFRHGS
Thanks Oz!
What do you think about the Cube aim pro 2017 for the price? :D
I thought Stout Paul was a beer. I thought it'd be just you and some beer.
hahahaha I wouldn't put it past me ;)
Did you mention those noises when there is much movement in the video?
Like a vibrating brake rotor far away?
It sounds like your gimbals motors... But louder.
Sorry :D
It's the hub!
You can hear it at 5:05.
Like the camera doesn't stop to change the focus or something.
But...nevermind :D
holy damn your rear hub is loud. what is that? or does anyone know?
Yo sup Daniel! P125 for life.
I love your videos dude, you and Brian have made me take this shit more seriously. Keep making the awesome content. I'm off to Patreon to sponsor you. Come to Scotland and try the trails here.
Hey Sean! Thank you so much bro 👊
Mannnn Brian and I actually talked a briefly about Scotland during a drive and how much we would love to come do some backcountry exploration rides there. I have seen some vids, and it looks absolutely stunning.

You got a new Absolute bikes jersey?
Nope :(
Looked like you were wearing one?!
Alex what shampoo do you use for your beard?
+Lanz Silva none!
No way, I can't believe it! Thank you! I just crashed yesterday, what do I do to pass the time besides watching mtb related vid?
when is the Huck podcast coming back???
