- 2008 Honda FIt gets a new transmission mount. The original unit managed to hold up for about 140K miles. Not bad if you ask me. I will be replacing the the worn mount with a OEM unit.

The passenger mount side is Hella easy. I just need to know how to do the ones in the back

@@Arisafariie Yes. I replaced the mount under the battery area. Not hard. Easy to check.

I have a thump when changing gear from 1st in to second when I dip the clutch do you know if this would be the cause
I think the audience really need to see what's happening but your camera did not give us the full view of what was taking place...we just saw the mounting removed...alsowe needed to see how and where exactly did you jack the engine transmission...people need to see all detail which your video is lacking

Where did you purchase these mounts? I'm looking to replace 3 mounts (automatic) and can't seem to find an official OEM transition mount, let alone the rest.

Know this is an old question but the not runs through the sticker gray trans bracket that you see but don't see the U that the mount fits inside

What were the symptoms?
Are you planning to change a lower rear mount as well??
BTW It is fluid filled.
Car would vibrate in "park" with AC on and also while in "drive" while stopped. I don't plan on changing the rear because visually it looked ok. The mount is not fluid filled.
Did vibration go away after change?
Any noise during acceleration or vibrations during upshifts?
According to the brochure from Honda, the fluid should be inside of the lower soft half of the mount , between 3 and 9 o'clock position; on your video it looks like the mount was split right on the rubber bar.
On my car ( 07 base) the lower rear mount had a split in the rubber which was hidden behind the side plate.
And how much was the new mount?

Hi, i have the same car, my car is VIBRATING at idle, no missing, no engine check light everything is OK, the engine mounts are looking good but 19 years old, an old mounts causes vibration?
Chances are worn mounts or a valve lash is needed
@@ThatHondaChannel but there are small small cracks in all engine mounts not large one

Vibration of the engine and consequently to the car structure at low rotation (idle) can be caused by damaged mount? Thanks
It was in my situation. Easy way to tell is by drive the car under load.
If EGR valve dont work properly, then engine missing damage this mounting so quick :(

Bro vibration come when in full stop then acceleration. The vibration in my car happens in the driver side. The vibration may also cause by a faulty gearbox?
Trans mount was torn, replaced with an OE unit and all is well. Before suspecting the transmission, check your axles and wheel bearing for play.
I brought the car in the mechanic's they told me it also cause by a gearbox faulty. But the shift gear in my car is working fine and smooth. I will just take the car for another check to different shop.
@@nicholascuesta4985 yea get a second opinion. Too many people try to take advantage. My fit has 160k and the transmission is working great!
That's the famous Honda CVT judder. If yours is a CVT, then just changing the oil should fix it, did it in mine, though I had to do 2 changes, one was to just flush/clean it. Make sure to use genuine Honda CVT oil, other stuff doesn't work.
how many mounts total including engine and transmission mount?
Honda calls out for 5 mounts. You can see them here: #1/#2/#3 are usually the wear and tear items

Nope, the original lasted 130k miles.
