- Herat ,Afghanistan, finally getting round to editing some Herat Vlogs, The Nomad situation slowed me down a lot with my editing and travelling while editing is hard anyway ( time consuming) i was with the guides i used first time around on my first trip to Kandahar.. not much interaction with people unfortunately as it was, as you can see, mainly women. i have another 2 vlogs from Herat after this one... they get better i promise, bear with me lol ... thanks for watching anyway..even the bad ones! lol

hey Emma, The places where you have visited are where I was grown up. All my childhood is there and used to be a Pedlar in this Bazar for a long time. It is very nice that you are filming this bazaar and people and reminding me of all those nice memories.

Herat is very similar to Mashhad here in Iran. You can notice by the Dari accents which are very similar to Northern Iranian accents, and the fact that many women wear the Chador which is something you wont find in most other parts of Afghanistan!

Wow Emma it's crazy to hear that tourists have to go through an interrogation to visit Herat. What a nightmare 😒
But its so wonderful to see a different area. Poor ladies all scared of interacting on camera. I don't blame them. On the positive note, its nice to finally see women out and about. I've heard that women of Afghan nationality/ethnicity can enter but cannot leave Afghanistan without a mahram (male relative). My neighbor's niece apparently was not allowed to leave even though she is a resident of another country 😱 That changes my plans on visiting soon. I've got to take someone with me b/c I don't want to get stuck there.

Y pensar que viví 5 años en la ciudad de Herat, use el chador y caminé por esos mercados pero cuando llegaron los talibanes tuve que salir de ahi, los afganos son muy hospitalarios... y si! es muy gracioso que sean los hombres los que venden la ropa interior, siempre pensé que era mucho mejor que lo hicieran las mujeres 😅 espero que las mujeres puedan tener un poco más de libertad y no se opriman sus derechos a estudiar y trabajar. How about providing technical assistance to Italian, Swiss and Japanese craftsmen to make lapis lazuli jewelry and watches so that Afghans can support themselves? Furthermore, through technology and irrigation development that converts wastewater into fertilizer and electricity in Japan, we will realize the stabilization of food production in Afghanistan. I think it would be good to build a stable food procurement network by processing food that also serves as food (retort pouches, frozen foods, etc.).
Also, I think that Scotland and France should be able to provide a stable supply of batteries to the UK and Europe by inviting Panasonic's battery factories from Japan. (I would like Japan to cooperate with us in providing infrastructure assistance to Afghanistan.)

i didnt get there, its not easy to travel round afghanistan, you cant go without a guide and its far and ive spent a lot of money on guides/translators in my time, sadly i couldnt go to every Province, they will not give permits to travel without a guide anymore so its becoming very difficult and costly for long term travel :(
