The most efficient way I found with two mowers is one with a mulch kit and one with the bagging system. Mulching them first keeps the bags from filling up so fast.
Fall cleanups are tough! We live in North Idaho and deal with wet leaves, frost, and sometimes wet snow rain mix. Our guys are burned out from a long summer season, and then we spend the fall season hand loading multiple trailer loads of leaves and debris every day. I'd love to get a debris loader for no other reason than to minimize the wear and tear on my employees' bodies. However, I'm nervous about purchasing one because I've heard mixed reviews on how they perform in wet conditions. Everything I just stated above warrants charging higher prices. Equipment, labor, disposal cost, risk of injury due to physical exertion and burnout, etc. I definitely need to re-evaluate my pricing next season. Thanks, Keith!
Awesome video Keith, my wife and I are almost finished with leaf clean ups. We have 10 more to do before the snow flies. I dont know about you but im getting tired of draging tarps full of wet leaves on and off my trailer. We need a dump trailer.
We usually hit them with push mowers but we do less then a acer yards. One to mulch them up a little and again to get one the left overs. Take about a hour. Also love your content, wish i would of found it before i got more EST. I started push mowers around got a truck got a couple workers. We do 10 - 14 lawn a day. Made 119k last year, we most better every year. We also won property maintenance business the last 2 years on Next door and that really help us get more customers the following year. If i didn't love what i do, I'd let one of my works take my place and take the second truck and just sit home all day but i love being on site. Customers are amazing, i can make sure things are done righr to my liking and also i can fix thing if they brake down
Sounds like you have the most important thing of all. Gratitude. And yes I like doing the work also. In 2022. I got outta the field and it wasn't all it's cracked up to be.
Nice job Kalfas! Doing a leaf cleanup next week, first job back since my Achilles heel surgery! Got a guy with me, lots of tarps, couple blowers…gotta get ‘er done! Don’t really have the equipment or manpower for major leaf clean ups, but I’ll do what I can. Just glad I’m back on my feet somewhat!! Rock on brother!❤
In the uk I don't have a problem with pricing it's the little sneaky tactics customers try and have one up on you I just walk away not worth my time playing tactics.
Great video Kieth. Great video Keith. Im from the UK and I see in alot of your videos lots of gardens with flags in the grass around the yards. Are these just internet utility cabels etc or is it marking the property boundry? Thanks and Happy Christmas
I prefer to just focus on leaves in the fall an do as much pruning as possible in the winter. I find not switching gears all day makes things go much smoother and efficiently.
@@keith-kalfas New Hampshire. I don't have 3 months worth just a few weeks. Do it during warm spells. Last 5 or so winters have been abnormally mild here.
Out of all landscaping jobs I bid on and do I hate leaf cleanup the most. It’s just so boring and tedious. And when it’s windy. Or wet. Just hate leaf cleanup. I’d rather string trim or mow any day. But, the leaves do fall and you do need to take the jobs to keep your customers.
@ I’m so glad I’m not the only one… I hate to cry about leaf cleanup out of all the stuff we do but I absolutely hate leaf cleanup. It’s so tedious and boring. My ADHD kicks in hard core and my mind goes wild. lol.
I'm am soooo opposite. I find blowing and bag mowing leaves soooo therapeutic! I love it! When I get home I'm almost sad and wish there was more daylight for me to be out there meditating and blowing leaves. I'm going to miss it once the snow hits.
@ I really wish I felt that feeling lol. I blew leaves today for 10 hours. Roughly 9 gallons of fuel through the blower. I’m ready for my therapy session
@chet9055 700 is light for that job. I would have been at 700 to clean gutters and trim shrubs, ornamental trees, and debris removal. Another 500 for leaf cleanup that size plus debris removal fee. That full cleanup job is easily 1200. And you want to do that all for 375, you’re wild my man. Great job Keith.

All I say about pricing…if your own price doesn’t make you uncomfortable or scare you…you’re not charging enough!
Ooh. I like that bro. Yes. How long have you been in business?
Like this idea👍🏾

Sell time. Set your hourly rate. Ours is $90 per man hour plus hauling fees. We usually run a quarter of a dump trailer at $100. 16ft dump

Hey so Keith the main things to do for leaves wise is to blow out of garden beds and tight areas into grass then mulch with mower push mower ?
Yes. We do the same. Fashowww
Gonna a word? Come on Keith, thought you were a professional? Just busting your chops 😂😂. Keep grinding dawg !!!!! Have a great holiday season 😀
I appreciate that haha
I would've been at $350 leaves only. I work alone and mulch the shit out of them. I don't haul leaves away.
700$ ? No way more like 375 for that clean up
It's the 2 Ornamental trees, blowing off the roof and gutter guards, and trimming 2 bushes on the side of the house. Total $700.
@@keith-kalfassounds fair to me. Chuck in a truck might charge $375 and spend all day to make his $300.

375 is undercharging.
Keith curious why no debris loader? I know it cost money!!!! “Why don’t you just get a crane”
Ok you don’t specialize, but how do you keep team busy this time of year?
Haha a crane lol. 😂😂😂
You can never charge enough
💪
Hello Keith, which enclosed trailer brand have you used? I'm looking at Spartan and Titanium, do you have any thoughts on these two?
Griffin
How do you figure a yard of debri
This is like an entire 5min long video. Haha. I should make a video on this
Be careful with gutter cleaning and the ladder. lol
Absolutely.
What’s your man hr fee
85
@ is that with disposal ?
I’m at $75 plus disposal
700 seems to be right I recently started marketing Christmas installation easy 1500 for 1 days work
Nice bro. We tried Christmas lights and I hated it and undercharged. It was frustrating to me. Lol.
