I never tire of watching your vids ! I do like watching other peoples casting videos but yours have been my staple/go to, whenever I feel like I need to brush up. Cant thank you enough 👍🏻
i watched a video of yours long ago, and what a difference! now there is no comparison!!! i can cast like a pro.. the sound of the line coming out of the spool on every cast, plus control of cast placement are very satisfying!!! thank you so very much...john!
A real joy to watch and wonderful advise. No trying to sell tackle or any silly golden balls ego, from a man who is a household name and rightly so in angling and casting. After seeing these videos, any one should have the confidence certainly in the way this series has been put together, to go out there and soon be a big caster.
Thoroughly enjoyed all three clips. I can now see where I'm going wrong. Have had a 30yr break from fishing, wasn't much good first of all! Many thanks. Regards, Karl.
By far the simplest to understand video produced for the fishing pendulum, I purchased this not long after it was released and learned very quickly from it...it may look outdated now but definately worth watching as still very relevant as said, top stuff John and lovely to watch again so many years on, seems like yesterday!
@fox22250 Thanks very much john! i have the plastic spool version and will have a look for that oil! found the reel in a charity shop and paid £5 for it! the previous owner must have looked after it because the wokings look as though they have just come out the factory plus penn make amazing lasting reels as you well know! Thanks again john!

I'm so pleased to be of help, Benny. But really the praise should go to you for all your hard work.
thank you john!

???Don't think Mr Holden has had a sex change. I stand to be corrected though!
Fantastic lesson John!
Many thanks!

Such a smooth cast
I always look all herky jerky and not even close to 100yds.
At 3:06 , drill a hole to lock the spool? Would like to see that close up... what holds, guarantees the pin stays in?
Hi how far will a 8ft casting rod cast on the beach thanks
Geordieboy83 yes the beach master works fine, I have one along with a big master and they both work wonderfully
*jig master
ray minazzi yes there old but still perfectly usable as the worksmanship is second to none
Why did you switch the reel position from part 1?
Different rod, which I prefer to use reel down. Up or down, the technique is the same.
@@fox22250 Thanks John
Hi john ive got a penn 160 beachmaster which is about 40yrs old! will that still be ok for shore fishing today? the workings are in mint condition!
By the way john, whats the model of the fixed spool u use?Is it the penn spinfisher?
any suggestions for 4 or 5 piece travel rod for these techniques?
Doesn't go as far yes, but the cast is pretty much the same.
That's cool and all but have you ever thought about casting lines out that far to catch real fish.
