As a VERY amateur musician who attempts to sing well and also play trombone I can attest to the difficulty of doing either adequately much less to the level this guy demonstrates. WOW what an achievement, a true world class achievement on both instruments. The accompanist was wonderful too, lets not forget her contribution. Without them performances like this one would not happen. This brought tears to my ears with its perfection.
@corsair42893 I'm pretty sure that what is coming out of the bell is what he wants to be coming out, so as long as it remains that way, he is doing everything the way that works for him. It is just a gauge for intonation purposes. Now if there was only a way around the many moods of fifth position.

@WrightTenorBone Well if it works for his, then i guess it works for him. He'd better have a cleaning rag to keep that baby polished though, gorgeous horn, wouldn't want prints on it. And yes fifth position is a fickle little monster, and i havent begun to start understanding it just yet.

@TheRoZySaYzWaH1 What does touching the bell of your horn have to do with response? The performer here doesn't seem to have that issue, and other than only being a reference point, touching the bell with your fingertips doesn't seem to serve a purpose. All i am saying is that bell touching is considered a bad habit by most trombone players. It does not mean he is a bad player. And as for the response issues, i agree.
