Miyazaki's retirement films as the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse was such an ingenius framing device. I loved looking at the movies through this different lens, and I think you explored each in such a careful and meaningful way

You are undoubtedly my favourite video essayist, and it is not close. I appreciate your style of calm and collected cohesion. Your edits are subtle but purposeful, masking the movie scenes so the text disappears behind stairs, or ripples when the characters move across it make the video so gripping despite the lack of reaching for attention if that makes sense. With this video especially you highlighting wanting to tie the four films together forcing you to think of an overarching metaphor is what made the concept. Don't ever stop sprinting, your work is appreciated.

After watching and catching up entirely to your weekly frieren series, I'm blown away by your interpretations and how you articulate them so well. Growing up on ghibli films you've given me a new insight into the symbolism and hidden ideas of each film. Absolutely love what you're doing! Please keep talking about anime, it's wonderful to listen to and makes my day :)

Princess Mononoke was for a long time and still is my favorite Miyazaki's film. It just feels more rounded and somewhat more profound than all the other Ghibli's works. It's nice to know that you share the same view here :)
This is not to say that the rest of Miazaki's works are bad or anithing. They are all great in their own way

I’m really glad I discovered your channel thanks to TH-cam’s algorithm. This video is very well crafted and really do justice to these films and Miyazaki himself. I think he would like your take on them. Moreover this was really interesting, linking these films to the 4 Horsemen is very clever. The editing and the pace of the video felt really calming. I feel lighter, as if my mind was eased, even though I gained something new from your perception.

Endeavoring to change your perspective while watching films you were already familiar with is admirable. I enjoyed this analysis and I think it serves as a lovely tribute to him.

This was a great video and it explored some unique perspectives of the movies that I hadn't really thought about, granted I have only seen Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke, but applying their concepts to the 4 Horsemen is something that really seems to make sense in a way. I also really enjoyed your style of editing as well, it was really nice to watch and read along.
