When my husband died a friend of my family told me, "don't worry. You're young. You'll find someone else." I looked at her with rage but was too emotionally drained to say that I didn't want anyone else. I wanted my husband. I'm still single.

I had a bad experience too I attended one of my closest friend's funeral(he's like my brother) his sister in law had the messed up af nerves to tell me to get with his wife and start going out with her now that he is gone while I am in the same room as her looking straight ahead the whole time at my friend's casket with his well dressed lifeless body inside it while his parents(especially his mom) are crying like a river?!?!?! I WAS SHOCK AND PISSED OFF AF! How can she say that to me? Especially at a time like that? She knows how close we are I CANNOT get with his wife no way in hell! Even if she thinks we are a good match that moment is NOT THE RIGHT TIME TO TELL ME THAT!!! HOW RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL IS IT THAT?!?!?! WTF IS WRONG WITH HER?!?!?! I'm there mourning and paying respect to my friend and I have to hear that?!?!?! WTF?!?!?! I really don't understand why she would tell me that especially during that time. The rest of the night after his funeral and the next few week it was on my mind I felt so uncomfortable I really didn't like her much after that what she said to me that day at his funeral it really bothered me for a long long long time!!! But anyways, I know it probably was very insensitive for your friend to say that to you but I don't think she meant any harm in it not in any bad way I think she's just looking out for you not realizing how painful is it for you to hear that so don't take wrong. I know you miss your husband a lot but eventually you need to move on and find someone that will love and take care of you that's exactly what your husband would want I know no man can ever replace him but remember the good times with him and he will always be alive in your heart. In fact, he's up there smiling down at you right now! I wish you the best!

  • @Yoachan
    @Yoachan 6 ปีที่แล้ว +596

    01. Be yourself. (Instead be the best version of yourself)
    02. If you work hard, you can achieve anything. (You need skills on top of it)
    03. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
    04. Everything happens for a reason. (It's just an excuse. Change things yourself. Be your own reason.)
    05. Just wait and let love happen to you.
    06. Do what you love. (Don't do this early in life. Hobbies are good, but you need to take care of the basics.)
    07. Good things come to those who wait. (Earn things yourself and actively reach for things.)
    08. Time heals all wounds. (That's just insensitive as hell. Some things will hurt for life.)
    09. Always follow your heart. (Use your brains)
    10. You're so young. You have all the time in the world.
    11. God never gives you a burden you can't carry. (Life just isn't fair sometimes)
    12. You need money to make money. (You can do it even when you don't have money)
    13. Think positive thoughts and the universe will provide. (The world works on action and reaction)
    14. We are all born equal. (Not everyone is born with the same things as you
    15. Winners never quit and quitters never win. (Truth is winners adapt. They will quit if things aren't working out.)

This is pure genius! I am a senior citizen and I grew up having most of these falsehoods pounded into me. I figured most of it out over the years, but this is a perfect assemblage. Young people listen to this and take it to heart. As the narrator said she could go on for days. BTW her brutal straightforwardness is extremely appealing sexy actually! A few more I was raised with:
"it's not what you know but who you know [as if this were fixed at birth]" I used to respond to my parents that I could meet people. They dismissed this. I went on to meet important people and it paid off.
Another one, growing up near New York City in the 1950s and 1960s, "if you make anything, the mob will take it away from you." Maybe that's dated and local.
"You'll never get anywhere if you're too honest." As if you had to be a complete shister. Honesty has many meanings and interpretations. The key is using the truth to your advantage while not damaging your reputation.
    The list is genius.

Taking the...basic form of this...school yard bullies etc. It's knowing when and how to fight back. You have to be able to fuck them up bad enough to make it not worth their time to harass you. In the corporate world this can also be applied but in a different way. Start recording things. Make notes of when this or that happened. Get testimonials from other coworkers who may have witnessed it. Bring it to HR.
HR will do what it can to protect the company. If it's your immediate supervisor (the most likely scenario) take it above him or...again..HR. Have a lawyer ready as well and be ready to fight.

Theres been countless numbers of famous people who sat on their deathbed with hills of success that resented the way they lived their lives. Success and money is awesome, but when anything is done dishonestly its nothing but a lie. Kinda like when you operate out of lies that's what your whole life amounts to. One.Big.Lie. Who wants to live that? Go ahead be my guest, but I can promise you that while experiences are great in the moment, it's all fleeting. If you grow up in a rough neighborhood, people will sometimes tell you, “Don’t forget where you came from.” But if you get a good education, learn how to present yourself in a profesional manner, make some money and move into a better neighborhood, some of those same people will criticize you and say, “he forgot where he came from” or “he thinks he’s better than us”. Of course, it is nothing more than jealousy. “Don’t forget where you came from” is advice that is often meant to dissuade you from growing personally and striving for a better life than how you happened to have grown up.

He meant all experiences, including the dreaduful and near fatal, are learning opportunities.

"Never lie to an employer. Be 100% honest with them."
Most employers and recruiters won't hire you if you're honest. Believe me, I've tried being honest for several months. All I got were a few phone interviews. But when I stretched the truth a bit, I've gotten interviews.
Sometimes, you have to lie or at least stretch the truth (not about stuff like having a degree or certification; if a job requires 3 years of experience and you only have 2 you're better off lying, epsecially if you're applying online).

    • @thandasibisi7534

100% honest is stretching the point I agree, especially if your employer asks you something that s/he does not have to know(in your judgement). That said I am not comfortable with the notion of "stretching the truth just to succeed". Being "successful" is more than just making bucketfuls of money (contrary to what all these videos on "success" seem to be extolling. Would you really consider yourself "successful" if you became a billionaire by cornering the porn market or horror of horrors being a drug-lord ?Pablo Escobar was no doubt "successful" as the richest drug-lord billionaire in history, at least until he met a fitting end dying in a hail of bullets in a shootout with the police.I am not a moralist and frankly if you think you can get away with cheating and lying (and many people do)then go ahead and do it. He's right and all these youtube "motivators" keep saying "pretend to be someone you are not to achieve success".
example: you like a girl who is vegan and to get close to her and become interesting at her eyes, you start "being" vegan too. Boom you make her love you and you hang out and puppets and rainbows but you are STILL a carnivore and soon or later you will get spoiled. Change "vegan" with "reading books", "going to theatre", "going to art exhibitions" and you have the same.

Alllll theses advices were given to me as a child and in my teens. It really fucked my teens and my early adult life up. I started reading books and self educated myself. When the shades were lifted from my eyes and see life how it really is to be successful it motivated me. I was really pissed off for being lied to all theses years by the people I love most but I understand that they were fed the same bullshit from my grandparents and so on.
Read books, associated with successful people (be positive if not they’ll cut you off their circle so fast you won’t know what the hell happened) and get some mentors.

That got me into many years of my life wanting to be right and arguing with anyone who didn´t agree with what I said which I thought was "logically" true. And I´m so glad I got over that already. I guess age taught me to shut up and realize that -- just because somethin is true for you, it doesn´t mean it´s also true or will be true for another.

Just what I was going to say. For instance, #14 [We Are All Born Equal] isn't about the circumstances in which you find yourself, it's about your very existence. Of course, some of us will find it easier to become smarter, faster, stronger -- to succeed or find personal fulfillment, but at the core of our being humans are human. This phrase is not even advice. It's a statement. A guiding principle. If we abandon the idea that we are each equally and fully human, that kind of thinking leads to believing that some people don't deserve equal treatment and that others are somehow automatically better from birth. That idea hit the world stage about 75 years ago, and I'd like to think that it was unequivocally disproved.

    • @redneck630

The people who measure success in money are the truly poor people. I know a few, one is a millionaire, but he has never enjoyed anything and is now lonely. Independence is my measure of success. I have four sources of income, if any one of them went away, I'd be okay. Money doesn't hold me back, and that is success. I'm happy doing everything I do.

Gabriel Blas don't confuse Spirituality with superstition. Many people do. Spiritual just refers to deeper philosophical meaning of something as opposed to surface literal. For instance, You tell a child the fable of the Emperor's New Clothes do you see it as just an entertaining story or is there a life message?

Good things come to those who wait is full of wisdom. It is not about waiting without doing anything that needs to be done now. It is about delayed gratification. The EQ experiment proves this as true and those who learned how to delay gratification are now successful. Why? They learn how to save, finish their studies, have kids when they are more financially stable, buy their basic needs, invest their money and so on and so forth.

It’s more like yah, some things happen Bcuz some people do stupid things. Lol. I think the folks who go around saying that tend to live life in a too passive kind of way. Akin to excuses. Such as I didn’t get the job. Oh well, must be some magical or divine or cosmic reason for that. 🙄😂 I think maybe a bit better to say...it is what it is. Lol.

I don’t know how I feel about this channel. I like that it’s motivating ppl to do better by being brutally honest but at the same time they’re making it seem like money and riches is everything and the key to happiness when growing up in a rich family with well educated ppl and entrepreneurs witnessing them have extreme disfunction and self hate. There really is more to life than being rich. A bunch of miserable rich ppl with tortured souls. (My family) Is it nice ? Yes of course but it’s not the end all be all and we’re all gonna die anyways. And they contradict themselves a lot and give contradictory advice. I agree with a lot of these things but there’s something missing from this. It’s like treating life like it’s nothing more than a financial transaction.
So I think it’s good it’s teaching to you to be accountable for your actions, take charge of your life, be the best you, never to be entitled and to use your money wisely just the money money money thing is throwing me off. Like god forbid you enjoy life a little bit you’re a lazy piece of shit 😂😂 idk I such at explaining things you get what I mean

Thank you so much for sharing this. I have lost a son. When people would tell me "everything happens for a reason" "God doesn't give us more than we can handle" "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger " these things would make my pain that much worse. I even attempted suicide thinking that they would understand my pain because loosing a child is life long and debilitating. My son has been gone now for 12years now. There are times when I feel like I'm right back in that moment. Every holiday, every birthday, every new school year, he is in my thoughts and I imagine how he would be right now. Time does not change the fact that he is not here. Time does not change the fact that the order has switched and I had to buried my child and he isn't here to bury me. I have 3 other sons living. One older and two young then him. Having more kids doesn't make his loss any less. I know this wasn't the point of this video however, it brought this out of me. Anyone reading this please don't say these things to anyone else who has lost a child. If you don't know what to say just say you are so sorry and you can't even imagine the pain. If they talk about their child let them and don't make it a taboo. Try not to bring it up unless you know for sure they are comfortable with it. Now I just want to keep his memory alive. I talk about him a lot. Every charitable thing I do in his name. On his birthday I give a gift to a child of his age. The child never knows that my son died or even know who I am. I first speak to the parent to get permission and I give the gift to them and they will give it to their child. So far no one has ever said no to me. These kids just think that they mom or dad got it for them. I don't want to traumatize any child and by doing this I feel like my son is calibrated. I am also saving money for all my children to use for college even him. Someday some young man will have the surprise of his life when we turn that money over to him. Yes it has to be a boy as my son. Remember his name, Izayah Levit. Thay say you never die until the last person who knows your name dies. I am trying like hell to have him outlive me. God bless you all. I hope that this helps someone out there to understand better about this. Fyi, the worst way I was treated was by the church, my father, and my inlaws. They thought that he should just be forgotten and made it a taboo to even mention him. Now that they are all out of my life I am able to deal with his death in a much healthier way. It's funny too how much closer I feel to God now that I am doing my own research then listening to someone else. Love and peace my friends Xx

Don’t listen to anyone who tries to tell you different regardless of who it is. Even the church. I also hate the saying “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” It some cases, no not at all it doesn’t make the person stronger. It can leave them emotionally crippled for the rest of their life. I agree with most of this but 7 is just blatantly false. "Good things comes to those who wait" doesnt mean "sit and wait and do nothing", it means for example, wait to make a big purchase and not put things on credit card, delay gratification to make long term investments, etc etc. it has nothing to do with "entitlement" or being lazy

    • @mrswilliams1069

    • @whatevergoesforme5129

Many statements here were taken out of context and were too literal. You are right that it means delayed gratification and patience. People who do not heed this advice will fail because they will not save, not finish their studies, not have the patience to work 8 hours a day for years, not wait to have kids when financially stable, not invest and wait for results at a later date and so on and so forth.
