Since I was too lazy to try to figure out the tie-up, I purchased the pattern and measured off an eight-inch wide warp of 200 threads for practice. There was a bit of a learning curve over the first few inches of my piece, but now I'm in the swing of it and the design (my own) is starting to emerge. Since I'm weaving it on a table loom, I added an additional step which is very helpful in eliminating unwanted floats: reinserting the pickup stick in the shed before passing the shuttle through.
i guess Im asking the wrong place but does anybody know a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the account password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Aaron Maximus thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
The basis of damask is alternating blocks of 1,3,2,4 raising shed satin stitch (direct tie up)and the same pattern upside down, 1'3'2'4 sinking shed satin stitch.
Duelling rabbits hand weaving has a good video of the structure of damask fabric done on a drawloom, so you can see what this creator's trying to accomplish with four shafts and pickup sticks.
I'm not sure this information is current, but it was at the time I published the Two by Two Towel pattern: Piano wire; 5 Ft, Size #13; available on eBay (free shipping): Ebay size 13 piano wire Or here (shipping is additional, depending on zip code): Howard Piano Or from a local music store.
Hammer the end of the wire with a ball peen hammer on a steel block then file the now rounded edge with a metal file. That will finish it with a smooth edge that won’t cut you…. No need for tape to get stuck
Thank you for sharing this technique. It reminds me of doing pickup threads on an Inkle loom.
very clear and helpful, thank you😁

Thanks so much you saved my account :D
@Ben Prince Glad I could help :)
Thats great technique
Thanks for sharing 😍😍
Pardon my question, as I am in the learning process... are you doing tabby, or is there a different sequence for the peddles?
No tie up so no idea 😢
No tie up so don't understand what shafts are being lifted on each of the four picks 😢
Such a shame you dont cover the tie up. As 1-4 is fine. But the treddle tie up is key
I wish I knew what this means..... Is it a negative comment?
As she talks about 14 and 23, i would guess it is 12, 23, 34 and 14.

I did work it out, but, it would have completed this video to include it
I did purchase this pattern. Can this be warped front to back?
You can use your preferred method for warping. Thank you for buying my pattern!
@@sarahjacksonhandwovendesig1162 warp is on threading heddles now. Very excited about this. Thank you for the well explained video!
You're very welcome!
