Also Hedwig reveal true Harry, that's why Voldemort attack him in the air.

@joshuasimber8588 That one too, yes! J.K Rowling once said that the death of Hedwig symbolised Harry's loss of innocence as he came of age - and I believe she mentioned the broken wand being like that as well.
One by one, Harry loses the things that were all such an important part of his "new life" and identity all those years ago. Things that were part of him, and him alone - and that gave him a feeling of trust, love and safety.
His first broom, his wand, Hedwig, Dumbledore, Sirius and Lupin (who were both in a way the last real link he had to his dad), the Burrow and his school (the only two real homes he has ever known), and even Dobby.
I kinda feel this mirrors Voldemort's Horcruxes in a way? They're both slowly losing all the things that are a very important part of them (though, both in very different ways), until they eventually reach a point where it's just the two of them - with nothing left to lose. Might be reaching here though, haha.

Well, more accurately, it killed Dobby.
Dobby's first words when he met Harry were Harry's name and also his last words. Plus he died doing exactly what Harry told him not to do again, "Never try to save my life again." 😭

When I watched DH1 for the first time I had a bad hunch about his sudden appearance, but when he died I immediately thought of the promise he made to Harry about never trying to save him again 😢
In the "wizarding world", promises, vows, oaths and predictions are extremely real and important. Dobby basically broke his promise, and died. The Potter books are filled with subtle little details like that. So many things were actually predicted in the first books.
To which Dobby never answered...Harry says "Promise" but Dobby never did.

They don't explain Hermione's parents well in the movie. She erased their memories of her and implanted memories in them to make them go to live in Australia. She basically put them in Witness Protection. The plan was after the war was over she would go and find them and restore their memories of her but if she died then they could continue living a happy life without knowing that their daughter was killed.

The author also said the charm wasn't a true Obliviate spell. Hermione actually bewitched her parents to believe they were different people exactly. In either case, Hermione Granger and her parents reunited. According to Rowling, they continue to be proud of their daughter's accomplishments.

Harry and Hermoines relationship is purely platonic. It’s the one time in their dangerous journey that they tried to think of something else for 5 minutes.
That dance is one of my favorite scenes in the entire franchise.
Tbf, you can't blame Ash for mistaking this. Modern media rarely portrays platonic friendships between men and women, to the point where people now commonly say that men and women cannot be friends. Media makers rarely resist the temptation to achieve a cheap thrill or twist using sex or undercurrents of romance.

Hannah is the first one who I've seen give this reaction and have this much empathy for Hermione in this movie. She made me cry with how emotional she got over it😅 But she's totally right; Hermione really went through a hard time here. And yes, Harry was just trying to cheer her up. She's like a sister to him and he like a brother to her.

i’ve watched so many reactions that i’ve become desensitised to most of the deaths but seeing hannah’s reaction made me sob with her😭 also shes one of the few who recognised that the eye on umbridges door is mad-eyes eye, when you thought umbridge couldn’t get worse :’)

Omg same I kinda have become desensitized after seeing it so many times about it with the deaths now but seeing how emotional Hannah had gotten broke me 😭 I’m gonna be 28 this year so I of course had already seen the majority of the movies before I finally started on reading the books and I started reading them all my sophomore year in 2010 right before they were coming out with Part 1 of the Deathly Hallows so when I found out about Dobbys death when reading it I lost it and of course when I got to the final book I literally felt my heart break into many pieces. I just couldn’t believe how much Rowling took from Harry from this character. I mean I guess it’s why it’s so good but I mean as if it wasn’t enough he lost his parents and then his godfather and then take Dumbledore and Dobby, Lupin and and stinks and Fred…honestly I’m surprised she didn’t kill off Hagrid to top it off. It felt like at this point Harry should never let anyone love him cuz they’ll just all die in the end anyway. It really made me want to hold onto this character and to hold him and never let go and let him no one day I dont know when but one day you will be genuinely happy. ❤️💚💛💙 I will ALWAYS love Harry Potter!
Hannah being emotional in this one was validating as hell. Everyone always says this one is the weakest movie but I've always appreciated it's bleak tone and slower pace. It's an emotionally distressing movie.
Fun fact: The kids actually had to go to hogwarts, they had no choice. It was an easy way to threaten wizard parents. "You do something bad, we have your kids". Evil but effective

Hannah is very observant understanding the storylines of Harry Potter. I find it more hilarious but Ash seems to think all of the 14-15 year-olds are ready to get at it. Lol. Hannahs my girl

I come here again and again for Hannah’s empathetic reactions. Our hypercompetitive world is such a cold, “as long as I’ve got mine” place and it’s so refreshing to see other people that hurt when others hurt, especially when it doesn’t affect them personally. Hannah is my idea of a real one!
We are everywhere but this world is not kind to people like that.

They gave so much of Ron's lines in the books to Hermione in the movies. In the books, she he tended to panic.Ron was the clear headed one.
Which is why I hated the changes in 3-7 movies. The first two movies actually gave justice to Ron’s abilities. In fact the first two movies gave justice to both Ron and Hermione about their respective flaws and abilities.

The films sabotaged Ron's character. The books always made it clear that while Harry and Hermione were friends, Ron was his right-hand man. He was funny and resourceful and always managed to get over his jealousy for the greater good.

Ron’s goofy and funny personality always kept Harry happy, Hermione was a good friend but she lacked the communication skills that Harry looked up for in Ron and in the Weasley family in general. Ron was a bridge between Harry and Hermione but somehow Ron is showed as a 3rd wheel in the movie all the time.
The reason Ron’s arm was messed up after Disapparating was because whenever a witch or wizard uses the spell, they have to visualize the location they want to go. But if they can’t think of the place clearly enough, there’s a chance that they can get “Splinched”, which basically means that parts of them will not travel w/ them
It was mainly because Hermione took them to twelve Grimmauld Place, but had to dissaperate really fast to the forest. Also the guy chasing them grabbed his arm.

The reason why Hermione couldn’t help Dobby was because his injuries were too severe for him to be saved. He took the blade straight to his heart. Magic has its limits. Also, Hermione was not in great shape herself, having been tortured by Bellatrix. She also lacked the advanced medical training, though it really wouldn't have mattered if she were trained as Dobby was beyond help. And who knows if her essence of dittany would’ve worked on an elf.

Book Hermione wasn't even there on the beach, she went in a separate "apparition party" to Shell Cottage, and were resting inside. And I guess you're right, she probably didn't have the bag with Essense of Dittany anymore, anyway.

In the books no one, and I do mean no witch or wizard, could have helped save Dobby due to the knife Bellatrix uses to kill him. It’s a specialized blade with a non-healing curse so that whatever it cuts can never be undone and never heal. So to make matters worse, this is the same knife she uses to torture and carve “mud blood” into Hermione’s arm…which now will always be a fresh wound and say “mud blood” for the rest of her life.

You're so correct about that being mad eyes eyeball in the door. In the 7th book it goes into more detail about how Harry notices it and rips it out of the door in a rage.

There was a very sweet scene in the beginning that was deleted. When the Durselys were leaving Dudley shook Harry's hand. It didn't remotely make up for all the abuse over the years, but it was touching nevertheless that after Harry saved his life from the Dementors Dudley finally accepted him as his brother.
Also, I just hope you are ready for "Part 2" and that you appreciate the enormous amount of restraint it takes for most of us to not point out things and give any spoilers!
Yeah of all the deleted scenes I wish they kept the one where Dudley said “I don’t think you’re a waste of space”
And whats worse.. You understand WHY the durselys were so overwhelmingly horrible to Harry by the end of it.
theres also another scene where aunt Petunia is taking a moment inside the house, and he Harry tells her he's sorry, but they have to leave cuz they'll get tortured. Petunia answers him, saying she knows what they are capable of, and that the night Harry lost his mother, she lost a sister.
Its obviously not any kind of redemption arc or declaration of love, but it does give us a better dimension into her character.

It was heartbreaking when Hermione chose to obliviate the Death Eaters memories in the diner.

The entire Harry Potter franchise has a special place in my heart because the last movie came out July 2011 a month after I graduated high school
It was like having one last piece of childhood before actually starting to become an adult
In the book, Bellatrix doesn’t torture Hermione by carving “Mudblood” into her. She goes one step further and uses the Cruciatus curse (torture curse) on her
Finally, an actual reaction to the torture scene. I’ve lost count of the many reactions I’ve watched, and I can only recall one or two having an emotional response or making any comment on what was happening to Hermione or about her screams upsetting Ron and Harry. In the books, Ron is losing it in that cellar, screaming her name, ready to kill or die for her. The Malfoy Manor scene is not just significant for Harry, Draco, and Dobby.
I love how you almost broke down describing Dobby's unfortunate, yet courages, fate. That scene gets me every time.
I saw this in theatres. Everyone, including myself, were in tears from Dobby's death. It's safe to say that we were all collectively mourning. That scene never gets easier to watch.
Hannah looking at hermione and crying and saying "don't laugh at me , it's not funny" IT'S SUCH AN HERMIONE THING TO SAY. And I love that she undestood everything that hermione has gone through, because I think it's not shown on the movies. Yeah, Hermione lost her family for good, and they were alive, but she lost them. Also, when Bellatrix gets Hermione, on the books, she is severely tortured, in the books harry and ron can only listen to her scream. And it took her a while to recover from it.
I love Hermione and I think Hannah gets her just as much as I do!!!!

In the books Harry’s internal thoughts are that Dobby should have a funeral with the same kind of grandeur and recognition that Dumbledore did. So true! Dobby indirectly saved the world. They would’ve died without Dobby.

Idk something about Dobby’s death was the hardest for me in the movies. The acting, cinematography, and animation are so well done.
Rewatching it with Hannah made me cry all over again.
It’s something about how pure spirited Dobby was. All he cared about was saving Harry and his friends.
It’s sad that he died even after Harry told him to never save his life ever again for this exact reason 😢

I've seen dozens and dozens of various reactions videos and man, you guys have THE MOST authentic reactions. It's like rewinding my mind to the time when I hadn't seen the movies or read the books and the excitement of JK's writing is right there. Thanks for bringing some joy to an old codger on a random Friday.
I grew up with Harry Potter. Saw every movie at midnight, and got every book the day they came out. I read every book EXCEPT the 7th for some reason i'll never understand, so I didn't know the story going into the 7th and 8th movies. Dobby dying is still one of the hardest character deaths ever for me. Saw the movie at midnight with a ton of other die hard fans but I had no clue that was coming.
I think i know why you couldn’t find it in yourself to read the 7th book. You obviously seemed to have liked the book series so I think you knew if you read the 7th book, the last book…that that would mean then end to Harry Potter. No more books to read no more stories. You might of been sad about it all finally coming to an end. And maybe you thought if you don’t read the last book it never has to end then. Though of course I could be wrong and it may not be that deep. But I just figured if you’re someone who really loved the books and the story that maybe that was why. I mean im a huge fan and I know I wish it would never end. And to always feel a part of the Harry Potter universe. ❤

@@amber.ren_1995 This happened to me. I got halfway through and something hit me. I had already known that there was going to be an epilogue at the end. And I couldn't do it. I put it down and haven't touched it since.
Same, only I did read the book. Had to pause for a week after Dobby died and then again for another week when Snape's whole story was revealed.
This movie did a GREAT job portraying the books for me. The stakes are insanely high. The part I think did a literal perfect job on is the moments when they're walking in the rural areas, hiding in barns from Death Eater patrols, and Ron is listening to the Radio reading off the list of dead/missing wizards. It feels like you're in like a post-apocalyptic war, surviving a hostile invasion or something.
Also Hanna…. In the book when they are still at Ron’s house…Hermonie, Harry and Ron talk about her parents when Hermonie is gonna through books she got from Dumbledore’s office with EXPLICIT instructions about how to make horcruxes - she has told them a lot about Harry and she knew that they would be in such danger so she did that and in the book Ron had a goul in their attic made to look like him so if the ministry comes to find Ron why he didn’t come back to school they wouldn’t get to close and his family would be safer

Dobby made the ultimate sacrifice to save Harry and his friends. The way I see it, Dobby didn't just die as a Free Elf. He died a hero.
Regarding Hannah's question about time-turners, it's mentioned in Book 5 that they were all destroyed during the fight at the Ministry.

Dobby’s grave is in freshwater west Pembrokeshire, wales. Where this was filmed. People leave socks and painted stones there in memory of dobby, but local council has tried to stop people leaving things there and painted stone’s because of potential threat to sea life.

Harry and Voldemort were both descendants of the two Peverall brothers. 2nd brother=Cadmus: Which Voldemort is descendant of and acquired the ring with the Resurrection Stone from his uncle after his grandfather died, and Harry is descendant of the third brother=Ignotus: which he got the invisibility cloak after being passed on to James Potter. Before James was killed by Voldemort, Dumbledore asked if he could borrow to cloak to examine it. He knew it was one of the Deathly Hallows as it’s far older and far perfect than any invisibility cloaks in the world. So yeah, Harry and Voldemort are actually related.

I never cry during movies... I saw this in the theater and was almost sobbing during dobby death, my favorite character next to Neville!
I took my younger brothers to see it in theatres when it came out. Kids, grown adults were just sobbing. Never saw anything like it.

The teacher killed at the start is Charity Burbage, professor of Muggle Studies (who only appears here in the films)...not Cybil Trelawny, professor of Divination...though I agree, the actress playing Charity in this movie, does look quite similar to Emma Thompson as Trelawny.

The essence of dittany is used to help fix someone who's been splinched, but its still incredibly painful to come back all put-together incorrectly.
