Hi, Thanks for the message, Please check out the article in the link below. This lists the recommended specifications for routers with our mixers. support.allen-heath.com/hc/en-gb/articles/4403612310161-General-Recommended-WiFi-router-and-basic-setup Best regards, Luke
Great question, I was wondering the same thing. I'm looking for something really portable since the only thing I'd use the router for is to connect the CQ-12T to an iPad.
I'm thinking either a Netgear R6080, or Linksys E5350. It would've been cool if it could use a usb wifi adapter, or just have the wifi built-in, but oh well.
Hello Mathis, WiFi antenna in the CQ unit overall works same as any router providing WiFi, please follow such considerations as you would do with any regular WiFi router. Thank you, Rafael
Hi is there any way to hook up midi controller via usb host or through the app? That'd be pretty slick... just an idea, would be fun to have some added physical inputs for the device
Hi, Thanks for the message, It is not possible to achieve this with the Mix pad app. You can, however, do this with the third-party apps such as Mixing station and BOME. Thanks, Luke
Hello, what should I do if I have Allen & Heath CQ12T. All I need is a router and it will provide me with a signal to my telephone? Does the router need to be connected to the Internet to send a signal to the phone with the application
Hello! Access to Internet is certainly not required and in fact, not recommended. All you need is indeed a router and an ethernet cable. For your reference: support.allen-heath.com/hc/en-gb/articles/19619907763857-Connecting-CQ-Apps-via-Ethernet-Access-Point th-cam.com/video/fkoBdE8WBXY/w-d-xo.html Thank you, Rafael
It is possible to connect an iPad via wifi and then listen to music through the cq18t AND simultaneously record the music and/or maybe a click track from a metronome app?
Hello Dennis, WiFi connection is only for control, no audio is transferred. You can connected the iPad through Bluetooth for audio playback. You can certainly record this by sending your track into a Mix bus, then setting this Mixbus to record whether in multichannel mode or by assigning it to the Stereo Record. Thank you, Rafael
One trick I use is to use an older apple airport that has the 1/8" out on it, and then you can stream to it from the iPad you are using to connect to your mixer.... hope that helps...
Hello, Please note that WiFi and Internet are different concepts. QU consoles do not require a connection to the internet. You can connect a router into the Network port, which will generate WiFi signal to connect iPad and mobile device for control. QU-24 does not have a built-in WiFi as CQ-20B and CQ-18T do, I'm afraid. Thank you, Rafael
So in order to have my iPad/ iPhone connected to the Qu-24 I would neee to connect my Qu-24 to a Internet router via Ethernet ? I can’t connect my Qu-24 to the internet wifi without a cable ?
Hello, As mentioned, you don't need internet. Please make sure you do not use the WAN port for this. You must use a stand alone network from a router connected into the Network port of the console, with no internet or other devices connected. The console doesn't connect to the internet. You do need the router connected through a cat cable into the network port of the console. For your reference: th-cam.com/video/TgqOVdwvscA/w-d-xo.html Thank you, Rafael
All CQ apps are 64-bit only. You will need to make sure your device and OS is 64-bit to run these apps. CQ mixpad iPad Requires iPadOS 13.0 or later. Android Requires 6.0 and up CQ4YOU iPhone Requires iOS 13.0 or later. iPad Requires iPadOS 13.0 or later. iPod touch Requires iOS 13.0 or later. Android Requires 6.0 and up Thanks, Luke
This is my third time purchasing one of these products. I have already returned the 18 Channel twice. I just bought the cq20 , and I am not able to connect the mixing pad I am trying to use an exterior router. Haven't been able to connect it with or without the router. I can not find any easy directions on this. This should not be that difficult, and I am not computer illiterate. The video walkthroughs online are not helpful. For a product that is supposed to be user-friendly, it is extremely difficult, and I have spent hours trying to get connected to the pad. Brutal
Hi Joe, We are sorry to hear that you are having some difficulty here. For assistance with this, please reach out to our support team. support@allen-heath.com Many thanks, Luke
For WIFI, please connect the device to a WIFI enabled router via the OS network setup dialogue. Once the device is connected you can launch the CQ app. If you require further assistance with this, please drop us a line to the support ticket inbox. Where we will be more than happy to help with this. support@allen-heath.com Best, Luke
@christopherheintz6609 - Presuming you don't have a CQ12T (which doesn't have built-in WiFi), please contact us through support.allen-heath.com and we can look into this with you. Cheers, Keith.
Not directly. Bluetooth works across the 2.4GHz band, so depending on the device being used, whether you're using the same device for WiFi and Bluetooth and whether there are other wireless devices in the environment, there can be benefits to using the 5GHz band when using Bluetooth. But in terms of the CQ itself, no - the WiFi and Bluetooth can be used simultaneously. Cheers, Keith.
Hi Joshua, Thanks for the message, We can confirm that it is possible to connect a total of 8 iOS devices to CQ, with a maximum of two device running the MixPad app. I hope this helps! Best, Luke

Hello, if the WiFi antenna does not work, can a router be connected?
Hi,
Yes, the CQ can be switched to run in ethernet mode and then connected to a third-party WIFI router.
Thanks,
Luke
